English Delft Plate- Near Pair Bristol Center flower motif with floral border. Width about 9 inches. These are fairly early. Perhaps ca. 1740 and have the pancake bottom. The Bristol attribution is based on examples at Williamsburg and Chorley collections* Both in very good condition with the usual rim chips and wear common to tin glaze. English Delft Chinoiserie plate c. 1750 8.5"
Well. I am pretty sure I have an English Delft plate from about 1750 in a design to copy Chinese ones. It seems to be a pavilion and a fence with very stylized trees. It is 8.5" in diameter and has a bluish-gray tin glaze. The ochre edge is chipped most of the way around, but really leaves the plate in very good shape. There is a little fleck of ochre in the border. The back has a couple places where the glaze didn't adhere, and nice stilt marks. I researched this plate for a couple days, knowing it was a tin glaze. What fun I had! I found another that looked like a realistic version of this design, but really didn't see anything quite as abstract as this one. I'd love to know more about it if you have the inclination.

Sankaat is very pleased to present for your consideration this early Liverpool delft chinoiserie plate! Thickly potted with a skimmed foot rim. The chinoiserie decoration is painted with bold brushstrokes with a flower and willow tree and rock motif. Pieces such as this one often had exact Chinese Export Porcelain prototypes. The border has the crosshatch border interspersed with blossoms. In great condition with some rim fritting and an original glazing flaw on the reverse(from firing) This plate measures 8.75 inches across and would be ideal for the discriminating English Delft collector of wares from Liverpool, Lambeth, London, Bristol, and Wincanton! Antique 18C Delft Polychrome Floral Charger Plate Dutch English Marked- AS. 12+"
This listing is for a very old 12 1/4" Delft Charger. It is marked A S. in underglaze blue. The(non-rimmed) base shows heavy. Age-appropiate, high-point wear. This charger was meant for utilitarian use- not decoration. It doesn't sit quite flat, and the height varies between 1 7/16" and 1 13/16" The reverse shows a faint, very tight spiderweb- only a portion of one ray transfers through to the front(7 O'clock) and stops short of the rim. The plate rings equally around the rim. The rim has multiple glaze flakes, a few small misses, and one chip to the actual pottery. The glaze is quite thick. Visible from the side at 2 O'clock is the largest glaze flake(6th photo doesn't show it, but 10th does) I am uncertain if the plate is English or Dutch, but from the others that I've viewed it appears to be English(any ... moreinfo here would be helpful- and a more accurate age as well! A superb condition English DELFT dinner PLATE with Bianco border, Bristol, 1760
rhusrluk rhusrluk Antique pottery in good taste– harmic.little A very attractive Bristol delft plate finely painted in the Chinoiserie style with a Chinese figure walking past a pagoda or temple; the scalloped border with bianco-sopra-bianco decoration in the form of pine cones; Bristol. Temple Back Pottery, circa 1760. This must have been a very popular pattern when it was first produced. At the height of the craze in England for all things Chinese. Wallpaper, textiles, ceramics and furniture were used as convenient vehicles for the Chinoiserie style- essentially a whimsical English interpretation of Chinese art and culture of the mid-eighteenth century. This delightful plate was probably press-molded and has a scalloped border which is the perfect vehicle for the’bianco-sopra-bianco' literally'white-on-white' decoration which ... morewas very popular at the time. This technique would have been quite expensive to produce as it involved a second firing to fix the white color at a much lower temperature after the main decoration had been fired. The central image of the Chinese figure with a walking stick is painted in yellow. Manganese and blue and is exceptionally finely done. Fragments of the same design have been excavated at the Temple Back Pottery in Bristol. The reverse of the plate has blue'herbal sprays' which are intended to imitate the designs on Chinese porcelain plates. The plate is 8 7/8 inches in diameter and is in superb condition with only very minor edge glaze losses typical of all early delftware. There are no cracks. There is no restoration. Antique European Creamware Plate. Unknown maker, decoration is"Delft. Dutch-looking windmill scene in the center. Markings on underside include script"Delft" and 4-leaf clover looking mark in blue. Plate has two approximately 1/2" chipped areas along rim where it would have sat on some kind of display fixture. Also has one much tinier fleabite flake out of the edge and fine crazing all over. Presented here for your consideration is a Large Antique English? Delft Charger With Chinoserie Decoration. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and is in overall good to fair condition. It has several chips to the rim. Glaze loss and fritting to most of the rim, and several noticeable firing flaws and glaze skips to the base of the bowl that extended to a hairline(or craze- line) to both the front and back.
