Here is a beautiful Antique Majolica Boulanger Choisy Le Roi France Hand-Painted Plate made in France. It depicts a sweet nature scene of a Hen& her Peeps and measures approximately 9" in diameter. The Choisy-le-Roi faience factory of Choisy-le-Roi. France produced majolica from 1860 until 1910. The firm's wares are not always marked, however the most common mark is usually a black ink stamped"Choisy-le-Roi" pictured to the right with the large"B" The"HB" stands for Hippolyte Boulenger a director at the pottery. Antique French Choisy-le-Roi Majolica plate depicting the Forth Bridge. Edinburgh, Scotland This superb majolica plate was made by Hautin& Boulanger in Choisy-le-Roi. A faience factory which was renowned for its majolica produced from 1860 to 1910. It depicts the Forth Bridge in Edinburgh. A wonder of modern engineering when it opened in 1890. The plate comes from a rare series showing iconic British views; I am also listing'Dovedale' a beauty spot in the Peak District of Derbyshire, from the same series. The design is in harvest gold and is signed AD in the corner. The reverse of the plate is cream and is backstamped with the company's majolica trademark. Measurements: Approx 9 inches in diameter. This is a beautiful antique French majolica plate in a peacock pattern. It was produced in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s by the H. Boulenger Faience Co. in Choisy-Le-Roi. France. Background color is mustard yellow or tobacco gold with the peacock and its feathers in brown. The color of the back side of the plate is actually ivory or off-white. The photos make it look more of a bright white than it is. Size: approx. 8.75” diameter Condition: Excellent. There is normal age crazing. Set of 3 Paillart & Hautin (P&H) Crusader Scene Plates-c. 1830s-Choisy, France
Offered are these three antique black and white glazed plates featuring scenes from the Crusades surrounded by black circles and a wreath of leaves. They are not porcelain china but don't seem heavy enough to be called stoneware; maybe majolica? Each is captioned in French. I am not very fluent in French but it looks as if one plate shows the death of Malek(there were several Muslim Crusades figures referred to as"Malek" not sure which one this is) the second shows Richard the Lion-Heart's sister Matilda leaving the convent to join him in Palestine and the third shows Malek as an envoy of Saladin to prisoners of the battle? Please forgive me if I am quite wrong about the translations! I do not know how many plates there were in total in this series– I'm guessing the numbers impressed on the back next to the maker's ... moremarks are probably the plate number in the series? From Internet research I believe the impressed back marks show that these plates were made by Paillart and Hautin in Choisy. France. All 3 plates have slightly different marks but the one captioned"Mort de Malek adhel" has the P& H mark within a shield. Dating it to the 1820s-1830s. I assume the others are of similar vintage as they are apparently all part of the same series but they may be versions from later in the 1800s. I believe these plates are quite rare; P& H made many plates showing historical scenes but I have found no others with Crusades scenes on the Internet. All 3 plates measure 8 3/8" in diameter. Each has some small chips along the rim; the"Matilda" plate is in the best condition. S/H includes insurance. Please take a moment to look at the other items in my eBay store!

800x600 Child's Stick Spatter Stencil Miniature Gravy Boat Choisy le Roi ~ Luneville. France c1905 This is a stunning stick spatter stencil ware toy sauce boat or gravy pitcher. Originally part of a complete miniature children's dinner service. The two sided pitcher measures about 4 1/4" long and stands 2 1/4” tall with a scalloped rim and attached undertray The pitcher is playfully decorated with cross-hatched fence and flower. Applied in a two-color motif of bright green and black on a creamy faience earthenware blank. The piece is unmarked except for an impressed H. Probably referring to the shape. It was made by Choisy le Roi, a faiencerie in Luneville region of France. It dates to c. 1905. Similar in appearance and manufacture to the earthenware sets made in the Staffordshire region of English. The piece is in great condition ... morewith no chips. Cracks or repairs. Stilt marks along the rim, and minor transfer irregularities original to the making. This little piece was impeccably potted and the decoration was applied with a good deal of attention to detail. This large. 10 1/2" item appears to be a soup bowl or a deep salad plate. I have matching plates that are 1/2" deep but this is 3/4" deep. It is made by H. B. Company near Paris France. It is called Choisy-Le-Roi and the company was started in 1863. I do not know the age of this plate but it has an impressed D1( in the back. It is marked on the back in pale blue and I believe this is the Louis XIII collection. This plate features a blue border with blue leaves. There is a slight oval rise along the rim. It also has three dark brown symbols. In the center of the plate is a bleak, winter landscape with a river and geese with a sign La Mare. Below this is very faint Cheyer and over to the left is A. Carrier( There is no damage and no discoloration. There are some utensil marks. The glaze is intact and shiny. Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this lovely antique French Majolica plate. Made by the Choisy-le-Roi faience factory. The Choisy-le-Roi factory in France produced majolica from 1860 until 1910. Hippolyte Boulenger was the director at the pottery. This factory made some of the most delicate majolica produced in France. This plate is a great example of the beauty of work created in this factory. It features colorful pansy flowers with green leaves and three green dragonflies at the tip of each flower. It is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. It does have overall glaze crazing which is normal for antique majolica. We do have 2 available. Each has a different back mark so I photoed each one.
