One bears both the stamped. And ink marks of the Pearl Stoneware Co. one of the many Staffordshire potteries, while the other has ink stamp only. Both exhibit some light chips as you can see at edges but no cracks that I note. Clear images w/no blurring as sometimes seen. Three very nice pieces of mulberry/black Podmore Walker Staffordshire transferware in the Washington Vase pattern. Mid 19th century: circa 1849- 1859. One handleless cup measures 3" tall and 3 1/4" in diameter. In very good condition with a tiny bit of wear to the rim. One s aucer measures 1 1/8" tall and 6"in diameter. In very good condition with a tiny bit of wear to the rim; minor surface scratches. One plate measures 1 1/8" tall and 8 1/8" in diameter. In very good condition. No chips or cracks; some surface scratches. All have kiln marks. The plate and sauce are marked in ink. The plate is impressed with the Pearl Stone Ware mark.

The pictures show this plate front and back with many close ups. The Edward Challinor company was in business from 1842-1867. This qualifies his work to be considered antique since it is more than 100 years old. The plate is in very good shape considering its age. The motif is in great condition as you can see in the pictures. This plate was gently used. There are no chips or cracks. There is some discoloration present here and there on the back of the plate. Which you might be able to see in the pictures. I also noticed one small indentation or pit on the back of the plate(see picture# 7 bottom left) This plate is heavy compared to modern plates.
