Lovely Antique Red Transferware Ironstone Plate "Rustic" Pattern Harding England
This auction is for a Lovely and Hard to Find Antique Ironstone Red Transferware Plate made by Harding of England. It is in the company's pattern known as"Rustic. It depicts a pastoral farmhouse scene with a Grape Cluster and vine border design. It is in very good condition. Especially for its age, which I believe dates to the mid to late 1800s. There are no chips or cracks or damage. There is very faint toning that doesn't detract from the overall appeal of this piece. The piece measures about 8 1/4 inches across. It has a red backstamp that is somewhat blurred. It has the the company name- I believe W&G Harding- and the pattern name. Rustic. Antique Circa 1885 Red Transferware Porcelain Metal Hot Plate with Handles
Up for sale is an Antique Red Transferware Porcelain with Metal Bottom Hot Plate. This also has handles on the sides. This is in fair to good condition considering its age. The metal bottom and handles have large rust but NO holes. The porcelain top plate has some small crazing. There is a small'spout' along the side that looks like it used to open to hold water. But it has been welded shut. It is circa 1885. It is approx. 9.5 in diameter by 2 in tall. A unique item to be sure! Place your best bid now so you don't forget and miss out! Antique Red Transferware Adams "Seasons" Plate Hunting Scene Scotland 1830's
This beautiful antique trasnferware plate by Adams is in the Seasons pattern produced in the 1830's. It says"January" on the lower part of the pattern. Then there are season listed around the scalloped edge. It is a hunting scene against a Scottish castle. In terms of condition, it appears to be quite nice for it's age. I did find a chip on the back, which is photographed. There is a bit of light crazing and some slight discoloration on the back as well. On the very rim, there is one spot that has a bit of discoloration, it looks like a missed bit of glaze that has gotten discolored. The front is very nice, the only thing I can see is a utensil mark when the plate is turned just right. Plate measures 7 1/2 inches across. Thanks for looking! Antique Red Transferware Mini-Plate "Sicily", 1833-1847
This lovely 3-3/4” antique red transferware plate is crisply printed in red/pink and its interior scene of an exotic castle or religious structure on water with sailing ships is identical to that described and shown in a photograph of a cup plate on page 418 in Petra Williams’ Staffordshire Romantic Transfer Patterns under the name“Sicily. The rims of the two plates differ. However, bringing into question whether our smaller plate can also be considered the view“Sicily” from the Byron Views Series by Copeland and Garrett. However, another cup plate showing the same interior scene is also marked Copeland and Garret and Late Spode, see page 148 of Staffordshire II by Petra Williams) but this plate has a third rim pattern. Different makers did occasionally use the same engravings to develop the transferware patterns that were then applied to ... moreceramic bodies. As our mini-plate has no markings on the back indicating another manufacturer, I think it is very likely that it was made by Copeland and Garrett during the period of 1833-47 and is“Sicily” of the Byron View Series. In any event. This tiny treasure is crisply printed and displays the very minor wear one would expect for an object of this age. In the back of the plate, a small disturbance in the ceramic glaze appears toward the rim and an almost imperceptible hairline can be seen in the middle. A letter best resembling a“K” has been impressed into the clay.

Lovely Antique Red Transferware Ironstone Plate E. Challinor "Dora" Pattern 1856
This is auction is for a Lovely Antique Red Transferware Ironstone Small Plate made by E. Challinor of England in 1856. The plate measures about 6 inches across and is in the company's Striking Dora pattern. Which depicts a Bucolic Farm scene with a meadow and trees and Cows and mountains in the background with a Victorian Scroll and Greek Key patterned border. The plate is thick for its size. It is in good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks. There is considerable crazing and some of that crazing has toned or browned. It only adds to the character and authenticy of the plate. There is also a glaze pop on its face(see last photo) The plate has a Challinor backstamp with the pattern name. In this the red transfer print lies ON TOP of the glazed plate rather than underneath the glaze as is the case in earthenwares. In addition the flowers have been hand painted in red and green on the rim. The center transfer print has a lot of wear but ... moreover all this rare plate is in fine condition. I have cleaned it up since the photos were taken and the black sticker marks are not there now. Better than average condition and especially when you consider this was likely made sometime between 1820 and 1840 and no chips or cracks. Probably a plate to a dessert set it is 8 1/2" in diameter. England during the early 1800s. The plate is in the Moral Maxims pattern which features a naturalistic scene in the center. The border displays various flowers and cartouche scenes with banners that quote a variety of Moral sayings. The back is marked with the pattern name and manufacturer. The plate has a scalloped edge and it measures approximately 6 7/8" in diameter. Item Condition: The overall condition of the plate is very good. It is extremely clean and has no chips. Cracks, or repaired areas. The white earthenware is still very bright and the red color is bold with nice contrast. The glaze is glossy with consistent crazing and I see mild ... morerubbing and glaze loss to the rim. The surface has very light utensil marks. Antique 1930's Mayer Longport Red Transferware Porcelain Plate
A very rare and gorgeous red transferware plate by Mayer. It measures 10 1/2" and is stamped with the makers mark on the back. I have detailed the condition above. The plate depicts two riders on horse approaching ancient temples. It is adorned with floral designs around the rim. Despite its condition issues it is still an amazing piece and look beautiful. Antique Very Rare Minton Red Transferware Cottage Scenery Plate
After much searching. We could not find another like this one! Very rare estimated to be from the 1800's/early 1900's red or pink transferware red transfer ink plate Made by Minton England The plate measures 9" across and 10.5" across. Very good condition with no chips or cracks noted! It is marked Minton England Est 1795 in red on the back. The front pattern is very detailed and features a small cottage by a stream and a mad leading a horse to drink. There are trees all around the plate and the background is an off-white or light ivory color.

Very nice condition. Has some light age discoloration to inside rim and outside edge. A few very light surface scratches. No chips cracks or hairlines. Will display wonderfully. THIS AUCTION IS FOR TWO ANTIQUE PLATES. The red transferware plates are both old. The larger plate measure 8 1/2" in diameter. It is made in England by the well-known potters of Edge. Malkin& Co. The name of the pattern is ITALY. This handsome transferware plate, from E.M. Co. is one of their earlier plates dating from 1871- 1891. The very attractive Maker's Mark, also, includes B for Burslem and is identified as their Standard Mark. The scene is a quaint pictorial of an Italian town and surrounding area. This special plate is approximately 140 years old. There is another Maker's Mark that is impressed into the plate that repeats the company name. There are no chips or cracks. The tone of the transferware is dark red. The back has some crazing and is darkened around the edges. The smaller plate measures 6 1/2" in diameter. ... moreI do not know the age. It is a beautiful red and white transferware in the Canova pattern by T. Mayer. It is in good antique condition with the exception of lots of crazing. Some staining, and a couple of pits on the back.
