Lovely Antique ZS& Co Zeh Scherzer Porcelain Bavarian China Mignon Plate Floral Gold Estate item. Circa 1900, from my Mom's estate Green"Mignon ZS& Co Bavaria" backstamp(1880-1918) Plate measures just over 7 1/2" across White china. Gently scalloped edge with lacy gold decoration Circle of flowers& leaves in shades of pink& green Center ring of gold scrolls& plumes This auction is for one pretty antique floral plate in Bavarian China. Made by Zeh Scherzer& Co. around 1900. This plate is from my Mom's estate, inherited from my maternal grandmother. It has been packed away for many years until recently. The plate is white china with a gently scalloped edge with a border of lacy gold decoration right next to the edge. The main decoration is an undulating band of flowers in shades of pink, interspersed ... morewith green foliage, mainly soft pastels with touches of stronger color, which give depth to the decoration. This appears to be transfer decoration. In the center is a ring of gold decoration, scrolls with little stylized plumes on top. Very pretty and feminine! CONDITION: Good antique. Pre-owned condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is light to medium wear to the gold decoration in some areas, and some wear-off on the gold on the outer edge. This is not continuous, no places look like they are missing anything, and from standard viewing distance this is not disfiguring. Please see the photos. There are a few tiny, light scratches in the center, one a little deeper but still small. There are just a couple in other locations, very tiny. The unglazed bottom rim has a few very light tiny soiled spots, which may be from the newspaper in which it was wrapped for many years. There's a stray brush mark of darker color on one of the flowers. Will display nicely. Pretty antique Bavarian China plate to add to a collection! Shallow Cabinet Plate or Bowl 1880-1889 Hand Painted with a background of pastel blue and pink. Decorated with pink and cream colored roses and greenery. Gold rimmed with minimal scratching and paint loss(20% Scalloped edges with two(2) scalloped handles The edge around the plate is approximately 3/4" and is decorated with flowers. Leaves and beading, similar to moriage, only handpainted rather than gold. see pics) The mark on the back is the green underglaze with Z.S. Co. with a squiggly line under it and Bavaria below that. This mark dates from 1880-1899. There is also something written above the Z.S. Co. which I cannot read. From research. I think it says Mignon, but I am not sure. The mark does not show clearly. You ... morecan barely make out the squiggly line, and the B of Bavaria. See the pictures and if you know what it says exactly, please let me know. The plate measures approximately 10-3/4" across without the handles and a little over 11" from handle to handle. I call this a plate. But it is really a shallow dish. It is almost 2" deep, but"tapers" down from the outside. The bottom rim at the deepest point measures 6-3/4" across. This plate is in excellent condition given that it is over 100 years old. There are no chips. Cracks or hairlines and very few paint scratches. This will make an exquisite piece to display in a cabinet, rack or stand. There are no chips cracks or flea bites on the plate and the color is in as nice of shape you would expect for a piece of its age. This one of a larger series from the maker and will be a fine addition to your collection. This would even be a nice extra for a sportsman to decorate his den. 7 1/2" Antique Plate w/Fruit Design & Gold-Zeh, Scherzer & Co-Bavaria-1880-1918
Offered is this beautiful 7 1/2" antique plate made by Zeh. Scherzer& Co in Bavaria in the"Toni" pattern. The back mark indicates it was made some time between 1880-1918. The plate features a fruit motif. With peaches and blackberries in the center surrounded by a band of gold floral symbols. There are two sets of three different peach designs alternating with a gold wreath emblem around the perimeter. The edge of the plate has a slight scallop at each of the gold wreath emblems. The"22" in gold on the back may mean that the gold is 22k. But I don't know that for sure. The plate is in very good condition. There is some wear on the gold and there are a couple of small chips on the back near the rim but these are not visible when looking at the plate from the front. Rare Antique Art Nouveau Z.S. Co. Bavaria Germany Porcelain Portrait Plate Zeh. Scherzer& Company This is a Royal Vienna style porcelain Art Nouveu portrait piece. This is a bust-length portrait of a raven-haired beauty adorned with white pearls and blue ribbons. She is complemented with a beautiful gold necklace with three stones hanging from the necklace. She has a cloth draped over only one shoulder. The other shoulder is bare. The background around this plate is a burgundy reddish/brown color. It is trimmed in gold with gold around the portrait. Along the rim and gilded flowers around the well of the plate. The ornate rim has also been adorned with gold. There are white marks around the outside of the portrait. The pearls and her draped clothing is raised and appears to be hand painted. There are artistic holes around the outside ... morerim of this plate(please see pictures as they describe this plate better then I can) The bottom has two marks. One is Z.S.Co. Bavaria in green. This lovely charge game plate. Circa 1900, has a wonderful motif of a ring neck pheasant presented in his natural surroundings. The ring neck pheasant is presented in shades of light cream green to dark green and brown and white ring neck, before a background of green and brown foliage, which is a wonderful transfer. The wide outer border of the plate has a gold rim design. The plate measures 13" across and is factory drilled for easy hanging if so desired. The back-stamp is green"Z.S. Co. Bavaria" circa 1880-1918, which is the Zeh Scherzer Porcelain Company. There is I believe Munich above the company name. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Very sharp colors. Z S& Co. of Bavaria(Germany) It has an embossed and gently curved border with gold floral trim, and the centerpiece features a lush decal design of the ever-popular Queen Louise of Prussia(1776–1810) This plate measures just under 9 inches wide at the rim. And is in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, or hairlines, and no crazing. These are two really nice plates. One with strawberries and the other with apples and nuts. The gold around the edge is worn off in places but there's still a lot of gold left. There are also a couple of imperfections in the glass when it was made. They measure 7 1/2" in diameter. the makers mark on the back reads"Tomi"Z S& C- Bavaria. Zeh Scherzer) There are no chips or crazing and there appears to be a 2" crack in the bottom of the strawberry dish. All items are USED and may show some wear due to age so please look at all the pictures closely and email me any question you may have. THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE BEAUTIFUL ZEH. SCHERZER& CO. 9 1/2" CABINET/ Bowl PLATE LAVISHLY DECORATED WITH PINK"MIGNON" BLOOMING ROSES FROM ON A DEEP GREEN BACKGROUND FROM REHAU BAVARIA GERMANY. The outer rim is decorated with a very ornate scrolling and floral gold design. The roses are embellished with raised white paint. This is a stunning display plate any collector would be delighted with. This was manufactured between 1880-1918. The only flaws I saw were a couple of tiny spotting of white on the dark green in between the roses. It is not noticeable. You have to look for the spots.
