Brand: George Jones& Sons Crescent Potteries Condition: Vintage Description: 10 inches from the longest edge width wise. And 9 inches length wise. This is a rare George Jones& Sons Crescent Potteries Black Rhapsody China. The middle of the plate is decorated with flowers and leaves in a circle of white. The circle of white is surrounded by a stark black. While the edges of the plate are decorated by assorted white leaves and flowers. The widest points of the plate are decorated to appear as handles. I believe because of these handles. The plate is more of a charger than an actual plate. But I'm not 100% sure. There are some minor scratches and chips. But in order to really see them you have to be looking for them. I have photographed these blemishes, but they are so minor the pictures did not come out very good. This is an old George Jones& Sons bowl that measures just under 7" across. Has one chip that is mostly visible underneath but can be seen on the top and is showing in the 1st photo. The center emblem is raised quite a bit from the porcelain and I have not been able to find other pieces of this particular pattern. No. 148188” The registered number indicates the year 1890. The word‘England’ was not added to wares like these plates until after 1891. Each plate is also hand signed with the number‘A 200. Antique George Jones & Sons England Floral Gold Large Meat Platter Plate RARE
This is an Antique George Jones and Sons Platter. It was made in England-Crescent China. It is a Large( 21" x 14" Meat Platter or Plate with a gorgeous flowing shape and gold rimming. There is a lot of crazing and there is a crack shown in the pictures from one corner. It came from an estate sale and there was some writing on the back in marker that has seeped into the crazing a bit. I am unsure how to remove. It must be wrapped well for shipping so the fees may seem high. However, I will reimburse any overage of shipping fees if there are any. I prefer Paypal.
