4 Ironstone Polychrome Mulberry Transferware Plates Marone Dresden Flowers 1800s
This auction is for a matching set of 4 Old Ironstone Polychrome Mulberry Transferware Plates. I am not certain of the exact maker but I believe they date to the late 1800s. They are each marked on the back"Marone Dresden Flowers" and with the number 1955. Which is clearly a pattern number and not a year. These plates are very rare and are especially hard to find in this quantity. If you can find them. It is typically one plate at a time. They measure 8 inches across and each have 12 sides. I believe they would be considered lunch plates. There are no chips or cracks in any of the plates. All the plates have fine. Even crazing as is expected from ironstone of this era. One plate is in very good condition without any discoloration. One plate has some discoloration on the back only. One plate has moderate discoloration on the front ... moreand back. One plate has considerable discoloration. The base transfer images of flowers are in Mulberry or a soft purple. Each plate has splashes of colors- yellow. Antique Faience Cake Plate lot ironstone Polychrome GL Ashworth set of 6
You are bidding on a grand serving set of 4 cake plates and 2 serving plates total of 6. These are a rare find to have all together and highly marked with circle mark. Stamp and incised Ashworth on each plate. These are from the early 1800's as the England B Mark with the circle and made in Hanley England Made by G.L Ashworth brothers with the Incised Ashworth mark. The set shows the journey of a European family with their horse and son. There are three patterns of the family. I have been unable to locate any of these to price compare but did see only one similiar with same mark chipped going for 299.00 on an antique sight for one cake plate. So I am selling as the set as I found them because they are amazing together. These are all about 9 1/2" wide plates. The large cake plate stands 5 1/2" high and the 3 other cake plates ... morestand about 2 1/2" high. These were purchased over 15 years ago at a victorian Estate in Englewood New Jersey. All of the pieces show great from the top with no chips on top but there are some chips on the bottom of most of the plates. They are very heavy and believe they are polychrome or faience if you look at the bottom their is sum tin showing through. One cake plate and one serving plate is fine with no chips or breaks. The tall one has three chips under. Another has two. One cake plate has one and the second serving plate has one. These are in as is condition. I have pictured the bottoms so you can see. Makes a great entertainment set with rare pottery from centuries ago. These are as is with under issues on plate. These will be shipped in more than one box for the safety of the items and insured. This auction is for a Striking Early Polychrome Hand Painted 19th Century plate. It is Beautifully decorated in a Classic Chinoiserie Floral Pattern in Bold Imari colors of Cobalt Flow Blue. Iron Red, Orange and Green with Gold accents and outlining. The plate has a scalloped edge and measures 9 1/4 inches across. It is in good condition. Especially for its age. Antique Ironstone Transfer Printed w/Polychrome Highlights Staffordshire Plate
This item is a 9 3/8" mid 19th century transfer printed ironstone plate with polychrome highlights. The plate has 14 sides and raises up slightly on the edges making it 1 1/4" tall when flat. It is marked on the back"Brunswick No" and next to that it is embossed"Ironstone" The floral colors are purple. Pink and blue with some green leaves. The scroll design along the edge looks to be a very dark purple or navy and the plate itself is an oyster off white. It does have crazing throughout the piece with light staining as shown in the various close up photos. There is one small glaze pop as shown in the last photo. This auction is for a Striking and Very Old Ironstone Polychrome Flow Blue Plate with Rich Imari Colors and Oriental design. I believe it dates to the mid 1800s and is a beautiful example of British pottery that will instantly add color and elegance to any china cabinet. I am not certain of the maker but it likely is from the famed Staffordshire potters. Such as Alcock or others. It is in very good condition. Especially for its age. A rare T&Booth antique polychrome ironstone plate produced in Burslem& Tunstall England September 14. 1868. Handpainted over transfer-ware.All ceramics at this time were required to stamp the production date. There is no marking to indicate a pattern, but with all my research I have yet to come across another plate like it. The plate is a neoclassical motif with vibrant colors of black, green, orange and red on a white background. The plate measures 9 3/4 inches and is crazed due to the age.The plate is not chipped but there are some rough spots on the edge from when it was manufactured.

A true dark"Violet" purple in the hand brushed strokes. that's NOT a dark Imari type of blue) But most uncommonly. A true violet purple! So this is a strange piece~ It seems rather primitive in execution overall, ~ yet has a costly form to manufacture. Very fine transfer patterning, and opulent colors used~ albeit by a very young or hurried hand, dear heart!~ What's more, ~~The truly delicate border transfer is laid down in a very soft blue. Except at the"bubbly pools" intermittent along the edge, wherein the"bubbly pools" are laid in violet alongside the blue. ~The scope of these efforts is just amazing to me. When I study it~ Transfer pattern has elements which would have been made popular by the Adams brothers ... moreof leaves. This listing is for an early antique ivory color Ironstone 9 1/2" Schooner Dinner Plate decorated in brown. Green, blue, and coppery red polychrome transferware. Plate is marked with an incised"Ivory" and an"S" and 8/32. The numbers 9869 with 2 dots under the 9 are hand painted in red. Plate is most likely from England, by an unknown maker to me. Plate is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. Some light utensil marks present on inner red border only.Very nice early antique plate!

The plates are decorated with underglaze black transfer and are finely colored by hand with overglaze enamels. The plates are backstamped Creil et Montereau(1840-1895) The plates are 8 1/2 inches wide. The set weighs 4 lbs(shipping weight 5 lbs) Condition: Excellent. No chips cracks or wear. Lovely Ironstone Polychrome J. Wedgwood Purple Transferware Dinner Plate Tyrol
This auction is for Lovely Ironstone Polychrome Dinner Plate made by J. Wedgwood of England in the mid 1800s. It is in the company's Beautiful and hard to find Tyrol pattern. Which is a purple or lavender transferware European mountain scene with urns, fences, palaces and flowers. The flowers are hand-colored under the glaze in blue, red, yellow and green. It measures 10 1/2 inches across and Displays Wonderfully. It is in Very Good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or damage to the plate. I do not even see any utensil marks. It does have fine. Even crazing as expected from ironstone of this era and only adds to the character and authenticity of the piece. There is a small rough spot on the edge at 6 o'clock which I believe was done I the firing process(last photo) and the back has a very faint toning ... moreline. The plate has the Wedgwood ribbon backstamp. J. Wedgwood operated as a potter in Burslem and Tunstall England between 1841 and 1860. Check out my! Antique Ironstone Polychrome Soup Plate Indian Bridge Samuel Alcock England
This auction is for a Lovely and Rare Antique Ironstone Polychrome Soup Plate made by Samuel Alcock of England in the mid 1800s. It is in the company's Beautiful Indian Bridge Pattern. Which depict a bridge amid flowers at the center and a floral border. The underside is neatly decorated with three floral sprays. The Soup Plate measures 10 1/2 inches across and 1 5/8 inches tall and has 12 sides. The piece Displays Wonderfully and is thick and heavy ironstone. There are age-appropriate utensil marks and some wear of the hand applied red coloring of the flowers. There is minor face toning and some discoloration on the back and wear to the ochra colored edges. There is a tight hairline at about 2 o'clock(last two photos) and two chips to the underside foot ring(photo 10) The Soup Plate is thick and heavy and has a backstamp with the ... morepattern name and SA& Co for Samuel Alcock.
