Antique Gorgeous Hand Painted Roses Signed A. Bronssillon Limoges Plate Charger
Such vibrant colors on this blooming rose scene! Artist signed by A. Broussillon(or Alfred Bronssillon) A famous Limoges artist especially known for his lovely roses. His yellow rose scene is done on a large, rather deep charger with a scalloped rim. Because of the depth of the plate, the roses are set back within it and the thick gold rim serves as a frame. It is even more beautiful in person! Backstamp: has the Coronet George Borgfeldt Limoges France(early 1900's) backstamp which is the decorators mark and the Mavaleix Factory mark(1908-1914) which is the porcelain whiteware mark. This is a beautiful plate bearing two marks: the white ware mark of Borgfeldt. CORONET LIMOGES FRANCE, ca. 1906-1920. And the decorating mark of Mavaleix. P.M. DE M. LIMOGES FRANCE, ca. 1908-1914. The plate is signed by the well known Limoges artist L. Coudert. It depicts a blond cavalier holding a pipe with a white plume of smoke escaping from his mouth. The plate has an impressive size. Up for sale is an antique plate hand painted by Dubois and it is signed. I have taken many pics to show the beauty of this piece. There are a few age marks on the back. Please refer to my pics. It is customary with this type of plate to have four holes on the back for hanging on the wall. The hangers are still in place. I remember this plate on my grandmother's wall when I was growing up. Then it was handed down to my father and then to me. It is overall a beautiful hand painted plate. There are a few places that are minor areas where the paint originally was not extended all the way to the gold around the outside. They are hardly noticeable and typical for this type of piece. Flambeau LDB Limoges Plate Charger Signed Levy $29.00 This is a beautiful charger hand painted and signed by the factory artist. Levy. There is a grouping of 3 pears done in warm shades of peach and apricot. The branch and stems have hints of burgundy in them. The leaves are mottled greens ranging from palest mint to an olive. The background is peach on one side a grayish umber wash on the other. It picks up just a hint of purple by the artist's signature as it goes across the bottom fading into the green. The edges are gilded and for being 100 years old in excellent shape. I can find no chips or crack or crazing. If you run your finger over the surface you can feel the brush strokes. I have tried to capture the colors and the brush strokes in the photos but they do not do them justice. There appears to be a matching charger to this one. ... moreI found it on Ruby Lane. It has the same lovely colors, identical shape, and a grouping of 3 peaches. This plate has 2 holes on the back for hanging(much better for the china than those metal and spring plate hangers) It measures 10" in diameter both ways so although the edges are scalloped, it is basically a round plate. In my research I found quite a few of the peach chargers but none of the pears. According to Mary Gaston's"Collectors Encyclopedia of Limoge Porcelain" 3rd edition) The quality of the painting by Flambeau was quite high and many of the Limoge artists signatures such as Rene, DuBois, Luc, Levy or Andre can be found on their wares. The company was only in operation from about 1895 until 1914(World War I) LDB& Co. was a New York importing firm with ties to both Limoge, France and Bavaria. Antique 1900-1949 Limoges Flambeau Hand Painted Charger Plate (Artist Signed)
LIMOGES Hand-Painted and signed Bird Charger. Measures approximately 9.75" in diameter. This piece is entirely hand-painted(no transfers) It features a bird with its head down in a grassy setting. The outside rim has gold trim and it has a beautiful scrolled embossed design. The front is signed by"Rey" The back has a factory drilled hole for hanging. The back of the charger has an underglaze white ware mark imprinted in green inside a torch"France Limoges" According to Mary Frank Gaston's book"Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain 3rd Edition" this mark was used from the 1890's to 1914. The back also has an overglaze decorating mark in green imprinted"Limoges" France Hand Painted" and"LDBC Flambeau(in a ribbon on a torch) which according to Gaston's book indicates ... morethis mark was used from the 1890's to 1900's. Condition: Considering its age. This piece is in very good condition. It has a small chip along the edge which I have pictured. There also appears to be a small amount of wear to the paint on the edge across from bird's beak. When you turn the plate at a certain angle to the light, a few small indentations can be seen(not sure what this is) There is also some wear to the gold trim but it is mostly intact. None of these minor flaws detract from the beauty of the plate but as they say"give it character"

Antique Signed 19th Century Dutch Delft Porcelain Plate Charger with picture of Dutch woman leaning on cross. This plate is in fair antique condition. It is not cracked and has a few OLD chips. The color scheme is white, blue, yellow, green, and red. The plate has a slight scalloped edge and highly decorative glazing designs. The plate measures about 10" in diameter. The back of the plate has a deep base that has been pierced and strung to be hung on the wall. The plate is signed on the back. There are a few old chips on the bottom, the darkened underside presumes age. The bottom has general aged crazing marks that are only lightly displayed through to the front of the plate- overall the design has a lovely antique character.
