Two hundred years of trade between Japan and The Netherlands resulted in cross-cultural influences. The Dutch introduced the Japanese to scientific equipment from Europe. Musical instruments, games such as billiards and badminton, and food such as cabbage, tomatoes, chocolate, and beer. The Japanese porcelain, lacquer ware, woodblock prints and silks exported to Europe created a fascination for exotic Asian design and influenced style in clothing and the decorative arts. The factory of Delft in Holland imitated the color combination and Asian patterns in Imari-style faience. Royal Crown Derby in England manufactured a refined version of Imari porcelain dinner service in 1850. You are bidding on a ravishingly pretty set of 7 dessert plates that are probably by Coalport or a highly competent Coalport competitor. The set dates from the 2nd quater of the 19th Century and perhaps slightly earlier. We are offering 7 such individual plates as a lot in this listing. So. To be clear, the bidder gets the whole set. Each one has a different hand painted landscape scene. Each plate has a stunning assertively rose pink lobbed border with gilding in the outer edge and a more fancifully decorated gilded border along the inner border around the painted scene in the centre. Each plate is in fine antique condition with only nominal wear on a few small spots. There are no plates with chips or cracks. Each plate measuers 9 inches in diameter and is not hallmarked. Augustus Rex 19th Century ANTIQUE FORGERIES Plates (8) Old German Pub Monk
For your consideration. EIGHT(8) antique and exceptional FAKE Augustus Rex, Meissen, Dresden decorative plates with AR mark on back, embellished with lavish gilded scroll work. Each plate illustrates a monk or friar relaxing in a tavern in a different position. These extremely hard-to-find plates are transferware(overglaze) and then hand painted in certain areas. The gold gild work is all hand done. These are forgeries that took TIME to make and were very well done. No chips but one plate has a hairline crack. Possibly a firing crack, which doesn't go through the plate. It may just be a crack in the paint. There are tiny"flee bite" areas where paint has come off(no damage to actual plate) and one area that seems to have been tested for authenticity as the paint looks rubbed. These plates were purchased from a German elderly ... morelady in a retirement village who said they belonged to her great grandmother. They were made in the mid to late 19th century and are very well done for forgeries. The Antique Road Show commented that great forgeries of the masters are ALMOST as collectible as the real deal. At the turn of the 20th century, the wealthy bought fakes to display in place of the real artwork so thieves would steal the less valuable item. Plates measure 9-1/4" in diameter and are not translucent. These plates are older hard paste porcelain or ceramic plates and not newer porcelain ones. They have NO crazing which is the case with"hard paste porcelain" The foot rim is unglazed and rough. There is also variation on the back surface areas that suggest these were not machine made. I show a photo which helps demonstrate the uneven surface on the back of the plates. These are not cheap Chinese forgeries.these are ANTIQUE plates and as forgeries, served an important purpose during their era. HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE AND RARE. Kings Rose 5 Original Matching Soft Paste Plates 7.5" Early 19th Century
A set of 5 matching soft paste plates in the Kings Rose pattern measuring 7.5" circa 1815. With luster and paint decorated borders. The luster decoration appears to be shells but its not clear to me what they are. No damage or repairs. Some minor paint loss to the orange probably from stacking as I don't find any utensil marks. Light in weight. No discernable markings except each has a single short stroke of luster on the back, probably a decorator's mark. An unusual original set!

The other its also excellent with no any damage but the porcelain have been cracked more than the first one so the color is a little darker. also looks like it has a hairline but all the crackle is under the glaze. Set of (6) 19th Century Animal Ceramic Soup Plates, Italian
This set of six(6) 19th century provincial soup plates were made in Italy and carry the backstamp'NOVE MADE IN ITALY. The plates. Which measure 9 1/2 inches in diameter, are cream ceramic with a green band around the inside of the bowls. Each bowl features a different animal: Turkey-Cock, Peacock, Stag, Donkey, Giraffe, and Dromedary. The Peacock plate has a small rim nick and three very small, barely visible rim hairline cracks. The Giraffe and the Donkey have rim roughness that you can feel but not see. These minor imperfections are due to wall plate hangers. The other three plates have no defects. Overall, the set is in very good antique condition. They are beautiful as wall art but are also sturdy enough to be used for soup and pasta.

Late 19th Century Antique French Sarreguemines Majolica Oyster Plates 9.5"
The colors are salmon and Ivory. Made by the Sarreguemines majolica factory in the late 1800's to early 1900's. It is well marked on the back#2209 and a letter H? It features six shells for oysters and a center well for a slice of lemon or vinegrette. It measures 9.5 inches in diameter. Set of Six(6) French- Antique Creil& Montereau Plates Don Quichotte 19th century This is a splendid set of six(6) French plates made by Creil& Montereau from the 19th century. The plates depict Don Quichotte in various scenes and all have script of the back of each plate. The plates have numbers on the front of the plate under the image. There is also some sort of clover? on the back- impressed into the ceramic mold and maybe letters? I can't make it out. Four of the plates are in good condition with normal crazing for age. Two of the plates have damage. One plate was broken and was repaired(glued back together) One plate has a large chip on the rim.
