They measure 9" across(23 cm) The floral pattern features carnations. Roses and tulips and is a rare and unusual pattern. This is a very old plate. Made in the mid to late 1700s. The plate is decorated with indigo blue over a bluish-white tin glazed ground, with a hand painted design that was clearly meant as a copy of Chinese blue& white porcelain. The plate is decorated in its center with a vase filled with fantastically curled ferns and feathers. A bird or partridge sits in the center of the arrangement, and his head is tilted back in song. The plate is in good condition considering its age. The plate rings beautifully. There are some minor chips on the front and back edge of the plate. Consistent with age and light use. This is quite common to Dutch Delft faience ... moreand tin glazed pottery. However, these do not really detract from the charm and rustic appearance of the piece. In its making, the bottom rim on the back of the plate had a hole drilled through it. This was done in the making, and the glaze goes through the hole. A wire has been threaded through to form a hook so that the plate can be hung on a wall for display. The wire hook is very strong and sturdy. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, and no repairs. The plate measures about 13 7/8 inches in diameter. Good luck and bid with confidence. Sankaat is very pleased to present for your consideration this early 18th century Dutch Delft plate manufactured in the Kangxi(Kang Hsi) style! The center of the plate depicts the fence. Willow tree, rock and flowers motif popular on Delftware and Chinese Export porcelain since the late Mint era, however the border with its solid blue band and white reserve painted flowers is a direct copy of Kangxi era porcelain. Most likely this piece is a direct copy of a c. 1710-1722 Kangxi specimen, which is not unusual but does help to narrow dating and make this piece more beneficial to the student of Delft as well as Chinese export porcelain. Wedgwood China Antique Hague 6-7/8" Dessert Pie Plate Delft Blue White Dutch
Wedgwood China Antique Hague Creamer 6-7/8 diameter dessert/pie plate. It has not been used since about 1950 when my grandmother died. It may have been a wedding present when she married in 1913 or she may have even inherited it from her mother as she was the only daughter. It sat on a knickknack shelf in my parents' living room ever since. The main motif is a Dutch man and woman with a sailboat and some windmills in the background. The border is embellished with sailboat scenes and windmill scenes. There is some crazing and discoloration on the front and back due to the age of the piece. The back bears the Wedgwood stamp and also a blue 7. There are also figures stamped on the back before glazing. I think it's"11" and"B" if they mean anything. This listing is for a very old 12 1/4" Delft Charger. It is marked A S. in underglaze blue. The(non-rimmed) base shows heavy. Age-appropiate, high-point wear. This charger was meant for utilitarian use- not decoration. It doesn't sit quite flat, and the height varies between 1 7/16" and 1 13/16" The reverse shows a faint, very tight spiderweb- only a portion of one ray transfers through to the front(7 O'clock) and stops short of the rim. The plate rings equally around the rim. The rim has multiple glaze flakes, a few small misses, and one chip to the actual pottery. The glaze is quite thick. Visible from the side at 2 O'clock is the largest glaze flake(6th photo doesn't show it, but 10th does) I am uncertain if the plate is English or Dutch, but from the others that I've viewed it appears to be English(any ... moreinfo here would be helpful- and a more accurate age as well! It dates to from the mid to late 18th century and is in overall excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. It does have chips to the edges. Losses to the glaze around the entire rim and a tiny spot to the interior rim edge of the plate. Otherwise, there are light glaze and surface scratches and scuffing throughout as well as other signs of light wear consistent with age. Measurements: diameter: 9 in. Antique 17/18th c Dutch Delft faïence 950M sterling silver handle pottery plate
DELFT PLATE with 950M silver handle Description: This week I am listing a polychrome century Dutch Delft faïence plate dating back to ca. 1800. With a later Belgian heavy& high quality 950M silver handle marked by'Nassau Anvers' The polychrome plate is decorated with a tree, flowers and a fence, with a border of continues manganese leaves and ochre lines. Three kiln stacking marks can be found on the back of the plate and it was tin glazed. Size of the plate: 17 cm(6.6 inch) Condition: In a reasonable antique condition considering its age and usage with the usual factory imperfections. Rim fritters, and some chips along the border. A hairline runs from the rim to the centre of the plate. The silver handle of which one nail is missing has not been polished. See pictures.
