Originally part of a complete dinner service. The tiny octagonal dish with rounded corners measures 2 7/8" in diameter. The color is a rich sepia brown. Imaginatively stylized. The dish is decorated with a huge assymetrical transfer printed naturalistic Japanesque motif with a wild rose in the center and a geometric half sun rim. The pattern is a beautiful example of the Victorian love of nature and a fantastic token of affection. The pattern name is GARFIELD. Made by Wallis Gimson in the Staffordshire district of England. It is marked with the initials L.S.S. the trademark of Gimson's retailer Levi Strauss& Sons, and a registration number dating the pattern to the year 1885. The dish is clean. Shiny, and bright, with no chips, cracks or repairs. Typical Victorian era flaws from the making process, transfer skips and the like. Antique Ironstone Transferware Plate Patras Aesthetic
This English ironstone aesthetic plate from the first half of the 19th Century is in very good condition- there are no chips or cracks. The black or very dark brown transfer pattern is called"Patras" It was made by Wood& Challinor W. C. H(Hanley? England 1828- 1843. The 12-sided plate is 8 1/2" in diameter. There are scrolls and cartouches with scenes of buildings. Trees and people in a boat on the rim of the plate. The center field has a stairway leading to a gazebo and a street scene with people, a statue and trees. This is a very lovely pattern. Shipping fee includes insurance.

This is a beautiful blue ironstone saucer which I believe to be produced after 1970 since it is stamped that it is“dishwasher detergent proof. A standing individual in the forefront and several dogs. This scene is in the center of the 9 7/16 inch plate. A thick border of scrolls, flowers, and other decorative designs frames the scene. This plate is in very good antique condition. There are a few glaze imperfections which are displayed in the photos. The imperfections are on the reverse of the plate. For your consideration today is an antique dessert or cake sized plate produced by S.H. Sons England in the late 1800's. This porcelain plate is in very good condition with minor wear appropriate to age and usage. There is very fine all over crazing in the shiny glaze and some very minor knife marks- nothing that detracts from this lovely ironstone china item. Set on a soft white background. The transfer pattern is that of a delicate floral vine with blooms in pastel blue, pink and yellow and the vines in brown and green. This design is very intricate and pretty. Here is a 19th century plate in the Udina pattern. Measures 9" in diameter. Almost deep enough to be used as a bowl, the edge is 1 1/4" high. In very good condition, no chips or cracks, there are some utensil marks and some glaze wear on the edges. Please take the time to read the information that applies to you below. A true dark"Violet" purple in the hand brushed strokes. that's NOT a dark Imari type of blue) But most uncommonly. A true violet purple! So this is a strange piece~ It seems rather primitive in execution overall, ~ yet has a costly form to manufacture. Very fine transfer patterning, and opulent colors used~ albeit by a very young or hurried hand, dear heart!~ What's more, ~~The truly delicate border transfer is laid down in a very soft blue. Except at the"bubbly pools" intermittent along the edge, wherein the"bubbly pools" are laid in violet alongside the blue. ~The scope of these efforts is just amazing to me. When I study it~ Transfer pattern has elements which would have been made popular by the Adams brothers ... moreof leaves. Swags, shell-forms, etc, and the Mustard ochre yellow is used as golden rings entwining the delicate pale transfer. About the border trims~ PLEASE NOTE: I've had this plate for years. In fact, it's from my own 1820's mahogany corner cupboard, where it looks wonderful! but never noticed the BIRD until going through the photos close-up for listing! ~~Very hard to find this magical bird. But he's in there! Approx. 7.25" diameter. 12-Sided Asian Floral with"Waters" in Border transfer So VERY Old. This early plate. presumably made in Staffordshire) is marked"CANTON CHINA" as a tradename. But for what English potter, I have not been able to identify with 100% certainty~ ~~Believed early 1800's Staffordshire by the weight. Feel and decorating as well~ A very pretty piece. Up for auction is an antique ironstone transfer decorated small saucer plate recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition, free of any cracks or chips. The only condition issue to discuss is that it is dirty and could benefit from a good soaking, as it is quite stained. It features a transfer design with a landscape and what appears to be a university or prominent building in the background, The rim has a nice repeating pattern. This plate is signed, but difficult to make out. It appears that the word"university" is in the name. I am unsure of the maker. Primary colors are blue on a white background. This auction is for Lovely Ironstone Polychrome Dinner Plate made by J. Wedgwood of England in the mid 1800s. It is in the company's Beautiful and hard to find Tyrol pattern. Which is a purple or lavender transferware European mountain scene with urns, fences, palaces and flowers. The flowers are hand-colored under the glaze in blue, red, yellow and green. It measures 10 1/2 inches across and Displays Wonderfully. It is in Very Good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or damage to the plate. I do not even see any utensil marks. It does have fine. Even crazing as expected from ironstone of this era and only adds to the character and authenticity of the piece. There is a small rough spot on the edge at 6 o'clock which I believe was done I the firing process(last photo) and the back has a very faint toning ... moreline. Today we are featuring an Antique Circa 1850's Cotton& Barlow Medina Blue Porcelain Ironstone Transferware Plate. It measures approximately 11” in diameter. This lovely light blue and white transferware deep plate was made by Cotton& Barlow of Longton. England in the"Medina" pattern between 1850 and 1855. The central scene is of an Oriental vista with central figures near a fountain. In the background are domed buildings with minarets and far beyond is a body of water with mountains in the background. Around the rim are eight cartouches in two different patterns with pictures of boats and ruins. Between the cartouches are floral designs. All of this is over concentric circles. There is an underglaze blue mark with a cartouche wreath around the word"Medina. There is also an incised cartouche with the words"Cotton ... moreand Barlow" inside. There are no chips. This auction is for a Lovely and Rare Purple Transferware Ironstone Soup Plate made by J. Meir& Son of England circa 1848. The Soup Plate is in the company's Beautiful Roselle pattern. Which is a classic Romantic River Garden Scene at the center and an elaborate floral and scroll border. Some might consider this a soup bowl; others a deep plate. I prefer soup plate. It measures 10 5/8 inches across and is in Very Good Condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or damage or scratches. The purple is deep and rich and the white is very white. This auction is for a Lovely Antique Ironstone Purple or Mulberry Transferware Soup Plate made by Edward Challinor in mid-1800s. It is in the company's Striking Corinthia Pattern. Which depicts a classic Romantic Era Scene with People and Dogs in a garden with castles in the background and a scroll and floral rim with vignettes of castles. Some might consider this a soup bowl; others a deep plate. I prefer soup plate. It is very thick and heavy ironstone and measures 10 3/4 inches across. It is in Very Good condition. Especially for its age, which dates from between 1842 and 1867. There are no chips or cracks or damage. There is some toning on the front and back and fine. Even crazing, which only adds to the character and authenticity of the soup plate, and several glaze slips on the back. The piece is has a purple Carinthia E. Anitique Set Ironstone China Transferware Plate& Bowl Plate Imari1800'S Mason? Bowl is almost 10 5/8" inches across and the plate is 9 1/8" across. They are both in great vintage condition- see Photos. Lovely Bowl and Plate Transferware highlighted with hand painted enamel. These items are hall-marked in so many ways and it as clear as mud to me as to who what and how. I know by this family’s history that they are from 1800s. There is some mention in my books and online of the CM&S mark. But. After 2 hours of looking I have not seen a mark to compare it with. So I‘m not sure if this is a Mason or not. The Gem refers to this pattern. I think. However, good luck in finding it. The Plate has the impressed mark and I think it reads Indian Stone China. Also, in yellow gold the number 2874 with + and 2 dots above and a blue ... morestamp that is mostly missing. The bowl has a red#2874 and line with dot on both sides. It has an unreadable red stamp and impressed round(That I think read Mason Stone China-But let not bet the farm on it) and the same blue Gem as the plate. All I can ready say about this set is that it is lovely, in great condition for its age and someone will know or enjoy discovering it’s secret. I will refund items that are return within 14 days of receiving with delivery confirmation and insurance. If there is a problem I will do the best I can to work it out.
