Here is a delightful antique German porcelain portrait plate. One of a line created celebrating various European Queens, though I am not sure who exactly this one is. This plate is circa 1870's to 1920's based on the marks on the back and was made in Germany by the Franz Anton Mehlem factory. The back has a printed tower mark. As well as an impressed circular factory mark, another circular mark and there are some impressed letters. It is green with glaze fading to brown edging and the beautiful woman in the center is blonde and wears a blue and white dress with a rose at her breast. This lovely molded plate has a reflective finish which made it somewhat difficult to photograph without a few reflections so my pictures don't quite do it justice. There is also a discoloration at the 7:00 position with crazing. There are areas of missing paint in the tan area around Bonaparte and one small one on his coat. Royal Bonn is the nineteenth-and twentieth-century trade name used by Franz Anton Mehlem. Who had a pottery in Bonn, Germany, from 1836 to 1931. Porcelain and earthenware were made. Royal Bonn used a monogram-and-tower mark that appeared on exported pottery only with Germany added. The factory was purchased by Villeroy& Boch in 1921 and closed in 1931. Dish has a scalloped edge and textured ridges on upper inner sides. Approximately 6 1/2" long and 3 1/8" wide at longest and widest points. Bottom is marked with red crown logo with FAM and 1755. Beneath is Bonn Pompadour Germany. Mark is that of Franz Anton Mehlem. In use from 1875 to 1890. A Lovely Bone Dish CONDITION: No chips or cracks. There is crazing which is visible on bottom side. But barely visible on face due to the pattern. There is a narrow crack along inner side of bottom rim. Franz Anton Mehlem Plate 7 3/8" - Hand Painted Floral - Embossed Swirl Design
This is a beautiful hand painted 7 3/8" plate by Franz Anton Mehlem of Germany. The plate is in good condition except for a small 3/8" chip on one edge. The plate is very unusual in that it has a swirl design embossed in the center. The swirl design is 5" across and looks like a 6 petal flower design. Could not get a good picture. On the back is the Franz Anton Mehlem name pressed into the material along with the number 53. There is also an ink stamp which looks like Re 235988. The plate has a wall hanger which will come with the plate. Even with the slight damage this is a very elegant piece.

Up for auction is this Beautiful 1885-1920 Antique ROYAL BONN Plate FRANZ MEHLEM PORCELAIN Pink Flowers GERMANY. This plate measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter. This plate is decorated with pink and white florals on a brown background with mustard color between the brown and florals. It has a glaze finish. This plate is in very good antique condition with a small chip on the underside of the rim that has been polished(see photo 6) And it also has heavy crazing. The bottom is marked with F-A-M in tower over Bonn with FRANZ ANT. MEHLEM. There is an impressed version with artist cyphers. This mark dates back to ca. 1885-1920 and it was made in Bonn. Germany. Be sure to add villagewares to your favorites! This 11 inch footed charger or large plate was manufactured at the Franz Ant. Anton) Mehlem factory in Bonn. Germany between 1834 to 1880. It has an embossed stylized border in a tan color which lightens to a mellow yellow cream near the center overlaid by wine to pink rose colors and green leaf decals on one side, yielding a subtle and attractive scene, all under a matt glaze. This charger would work equally well as a wall hanging or a cookie plate. The Franz Ant. Anton) Mehlen Castle mark is green under-glaze on the back. There is also an incised. Circular mark below this with a backward F and A and M intertwined in the middle, and with other words around the circle. Under the circle are the letters O.B.U. and an encircled D below this. I AM OFFERING FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS FRANZ ANT. MELHEM PLATE BONN. GERMANY CA. 1885-1920. THE PLATE IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE COLOR IS VIBRANT AND IT STILL HAS A WONDERFUL SHEEN TO IT. THERE ARE NO CHIPS OR CRACKS. THERE IS SOME CRAZING ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE PLATE AND A COUPLE OF DARK FLECKS ABOUT THE SIZE OF A PINPOINT THAT ARE UNDER THE PAINT ON THE TOP. THE UNDERSIDE OF THE PLATE BEARS THE MAKERS MARK. FAM(FOR FRANZ ANTON MELHAM) IS INSIDE THE GREEN CASTLE MARK. BENEATH THE CASTLE IS BONN WHICH IS ABOVE FRANZ ANT. MELHAM WHICH IS ABOVE GERMANY. THERE IS AN INCISED MARK WHICH I CANNOT READ. Antique Franz Anton Mehlem Porcelain Plate Green with Pink Roses ca 1845
This wonderful plate measures 8 1/2 inches. Green base with fabulous open pink roses. The colors are wonderful from the bronze colored trim on the scalloped edge to the fading green base and vibrant pink roses. There is a small wear of the green on the front and some crackling on the front and reverse side with discoloration in the crackling. In excellent condition for its age(150+ years) Wonderful addition to any collection. Antique Franz Anton Mehlem cake plate,Bonn,Germany,vtg
Shown is an ANTIQUE PORCELAIN CAKE PLATE by FRANZ ANTON MEHLEM. Diameter is 10 1/4" and it is handled. Nice transfer of roses. The rim is embossed. See last pictures for the Mehlem Bonn castle mark. No chips or cracks. But I am calling the condition merely good since it is heavily crazed(bear in mind that this piece could be 125 years old OR BETTER! Thanks for viewing.

Rare! Shown is a wonderful ANTIQUE GAME PLATE with the subject being a Woodcock. Piece is by FRANZ ANTON MEHLEM and carries his rather unusual impressed mark(FAM) on the reverse. It is hand painted under glaze and has a diameter of 8" Has wall hanging arrangement on back(see pictures) The manufacturer of these plates was Royal Bonn. Marvelous. No detraction condition with only the expected crazing that is very LIGHT indeed. Thanks for looking at this gorgeous old timer.

Antique Fish Game Plate Bonn Franz Ant Mehlem North-Rhine Westphalia c. 1870. Plate measures approximately 9-1/2" diameter. It is a yellow green mottled plate with a underwater fish scene. The back has a green underglaze mark circa 1885'F-A-M' tower over'BONN' over"FRANZ ANT. MEHLEM" There is an Impressed roundel mark. Dated circa 1870- 1920 over marks A E Diamond. The plate is in good condition. It has some loss of paint on the edges. There is one chip not too noticeable, you can see it in the 4th photo. There is a lot of crazing. The plate is sold"As-Is" so please see all photos and feel free to ask questions.

This decorative plate is in very good condition but does show slight signs of wear and age. There are several small"chips" on the plate's display surface and"crazing" lines can be seen on it's backside. Overall. This plate is in very good condition considering it's age and is still very bright and vibrant.

I know very little about this plate but I believe it was made somewhere around early 1900's. please consider the title and photos as part of the description and feel free to ask questions. This page has no cracks or crazing. There are a few very small areas on the edge that appear to have missing paint. I am not sure if this was in the making. From a wall page holder or just missing.
