Limoges Flambeau Game Plaque Signed Rene Handpainted Antique French Bird Plate
Offered is a Limoges game plaque or plate made by the Flambeau China Factory in France circa 1910. The plaque. Which is 9 3/4" features a colorful bird, a type of rooster, on a green and yellow background. Lost of detail in the rooster. Handpainted and signed by Rene. Nice, sharp painting with clear strokes and rich colors. Gold trim on the edge. Hole in the rim for hanging. The back of the plate is stamped with two green Flambeau Limoges marks used by the L. D. B& Co in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Also stamped Hand Painted. The plaque is in excellent antique condition with some minor loss of gold on the rim. A small indentation under the paint and glaze on the left side. A manufacturing flaw. See pics.

This is a one of a kind very rare piece in Great Condition no chips or cracks. There are two manufacturing flaws above the bird’s right wing; this plate of coarse has some wear to the trim but for being over 100 years old its very good. The back of this piece has an underglaze white ware mark imprinted in green"inside a torch) France Limoges" according to Mary Frank Gaston's book"Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain 3 rd Edition" indicates this mark was used from the 1890's to 1914. Beautiful roses and foliage are masterfully worked around this plates rim flowing to the center. Very well painted and balanced in a simplicity that will compliment a wide verity of styles and décor. Welcome to my ebay store! This is one of a collection of Limoges hand painted dishes I will be listing this week. This listing is for a Flambeau Limoges 10" collector plate circa 1890-1910. It has rococo style scalloped edges with a gold border. This plate is 10" and pierced for hanging. See photo of string through holes. I would replace with wire. A beautiful artist signed still life of two pears. With a backdrop of gray-could be curtains, window.etc. Very unusual. The artist's name is BAY. The marks are two-one Limoges France and a similar with the maker's name- LDBC FLAMBEAU. This came from a huge estate limoges collection. The plate is very nice. There are no signs of any damage! Flambeau LDB Limoges Plate Charger Signed Levy $29.00 This is a beautiful charger hand painted and signed by the factory artist. Levy. There is a grouping of 3 pears done in warm shades of peach and apricot. The branch and stems have hints of burgundy in them. The leaves are mottled greens ranging from palest mint to an olive. The background is peach on one side a grayish umber wash on the other. It picks up just a hint of purple by the artist's signature as it goes across the bottom fading into the green. The edges are gilded and for being 100 years old in excellent shape. I can find no chips or crack or crazing. If you run your finger over the surface you can feel the brush strokes. I have tried to capture the colors and the brush strokes in the photos but they do not do them justice. There appears to be a matching charger to this one. ... moreI found it on Ruby Lane. It has the same lovely colors, identical shape, and a grouping of 3 peaches. This plate has 2 holes on the back for hanging(much better for the china than those metal and spring plate hangers) It measures 10" in diameter both ways so although the edges are scalloped, it is basically a round plate. In my research I found quite a few of the peach chargers but none of the pears. According to Mary Gaston's"Collectors Encyclopedia of Limoge Porcelain" 3rd edition) The quality of the painting by Flambeau was quite high and many of the Limoge artists signatures such as Rene, DuBois, Luc, Levy or Andre can be found on their wares. The company was only in operation from about 1895 until 1914(World War I) LDB& Co. was a New York importing firm with ties to both Limoge, France and Bavaria. This auction is for a Lovely Antique Pink Rose and Green Leaves Hand Painted and Artist Signed Limoges Porcelain Plate by Flambeau of France. It will instantly add a burst of color to any wall of china cabinet. The piece is signed by the artist. I can't tell for sure what the name is although it clearly begins with an R(see closeup photo 12) It has two backstamps- the torch hand painted stamp used by Flambeau and a separate Limoges France mark. Antique Limoges Flambeau Hand Painted Wild Game Bird Plate Artist Signed
This is an antique Limoges LDB& Co. Flambeau hand painted and artist signed decorative wall plate. The wild bird is surrounded by loads of color including leaf green. Slate blue, yellow, cream and pink. This is one of the more colorful plates in the wild bird series that I have seen. The edges are rim in gilded gold and the artist initials are REM. This plate measures 10" and is in excellent condition. The gold along the rim is worn from age. This plate was designed to be hung on a wall and has a hole on the back(see photo) The markings say Limoges. LBDC Flambeau, France, Hand Painted. The second marking is a torch with what looks like"Limoges" draped across the front. This plate will be carefully wrapped in tissue and bubble wrap and insured. In a 3-floor brownstone just filled with antique and vintage pottery, porcelain, and glass pieces from all over the world, we have for auction a Pair of Antique Hand Painted Bird Wall Plates, made by Flambeau Porcelain of Limoges, France. The 9 ½" diameter plates are both in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is little to no loss or fading to the bright colors of the bird motif. The signature of the artist Rene is on each plate. The Flambeau name and logo are clearly marked on the bottom of only one plate but they are both by the same artist and the same maker. Antique 1900-1949 Limoges Flambeau Hand Painted Charger Plate (Artist Signed)
LIMOGES Hand-Painted and signed Bird Charger. Measures approximately 9.75" in diameter. This piece is entirely hand-painted(no transfers) It features a bird with its head down in a grassy setting. The outside rim has gold trim and it has a beautiful scrolled embossed design. The front is signed by"Rey" The back has a factory drilled hole for hanging. The back of the charger has an underglaze white ware mark imprinted in green inside a torch"France Limoges" According to Mary Frank Gaston's book"Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain 3rd Edition" this mark was used from the 1890's to 1914. The back also has an overglaze decorating mark in green imprinted"Limoges" France Hand Painted" and"LDBC Flambeau(in a ribbon on a torch) which according to Gaston's book indicates ... morethis mark was used from the 1890's to 1900's. Condition: Considering its age. This piece is in very good condition. It has a small chip along the edge which I have pictured. There also appears to be a small amount of wear to the paint on the edge across from bird's beak. When you turn the plate at a certain angle to the light, a few small indentations can be seen(not sure what this is) There is also some wear to the gold trim but it is mostly intact. None of these minor flaws detract from the beauty of the plate but as they say"give it character"

RARE Limoges Flambeau Plate signed by A V Husenett (listed artist) Moose
We have seen a lot of hand painted porcelain over the years. Mostly flowers, some good and some bad. We have sold fish plates and game plates but have never seen anything like this before. Here we offer you this wonderful game plate- made for decoration and not for use- depicting a very large Moose and his companion. It was painted by hand and obviously the artist had some skill. The signature appears to be that of A. V. Husenett(A. von Husenett, A German artist active between 1890 and 1910) We did a little homework and his artwork commands very nice prices, we do not see any listings for his work on porcelain, but we believe this is a rare piece. There isn't a whole lot of information about the maker. Flambeau China was supposedly made between 1894 and 1916 which would fit in with the time frame in which this artist was active. It is ... morealso signed L.B.D. Co. Limoges, France. The plate measures shy of 9 1/2" and sits approx. and 1 1/4" off the table. This was made for display and has a hole with a string on the back of it. Just as a side note we would not trust the strength of this string for hanging this on your wall. Limoges Flambeau Portrait Plaque Signed JAK Completely Hand Painted Lion Charger
Limoges Flambeau hand painted lion plaque made in France circa 1910. The 12" charger is factory decorated. It has a scroll border painted in gold. Completely hand painted with a portrait of a male lion figure that fills the platter. A fierce expression with a snarling mouth and glare in the eyes. Shades of tan. Cream and brown in the coat with an overlay of individual hairs. Nice shading and texture. Lovely detailing. Signed JAK. Hole in the rim for hanging. The back of the plate is stamped with the green underglaze mark 1. Used by Flambeau Limoges from the 1890s until 1914. Also the factory decorating mark 5 in green, used before 1914. The plaque has a spiderweb crack on the underside that does not come through to the front. See pics. Excellent paint and a rare subject.

Rare Set of 12 Limoges France LDBC Flambeau Painted Signed Dubois CORN Plates
Available for your purchase is this rare set of 12 porcelain plates by LDBC Flambeau Limoges France and hand painted and artist signed by Dubois. The scalloped rimmed 8 5/8" plates have a 1/4" wide decorative band of heavy gold around the scalloped rims. Each plate has a shades of beige to brown background with different scenes of yellow ears of corn. All of the plates are signed Dubois. Overall these magnificent plates are in near excellent antique condition. There is no wear on the heavy gold trim. The painted scenes are vivid. The mars are: two plates have small nick chips on the underneath ridge of the plates; there are some wear spots where white porcelain shows on the painted plate(see enlarged photos) and there are a few pinpoint dark spots which could be errant paint.
