Very rare find! This listing features a dinner plate in the W. Adams& Co. Tedworth" pattern. Dates to the late 1800's. Plate is made of white porcelain with a scalloped edge and lovely raised lace design around the rim. And decorated with a classic floral transferware pattern in a deep teal blue/green. Measures 9" in diameter. And the condition is very nice ~ extra clean and glossy with little evidence of use, just a few very minor utensil scratches, 3 tiny chips along the rim, and light crazing. Paint on the very edge of the rim is uneven, but I can't say if it is worn or if this is the way it looked at the time of production. Ink-stamped with the W. Adams& Co. crown mark. Antique Blue White Transferware Floral Dinner Plate Hot Water Warming Reservoir Dinner plate with a hot water reservoir has no chips or cracks on the blue and white antique possibly Staffordshire transferware in very good used estate condition. There is some crazing on the surface of the plate and a few minor utensil marks/scratches. This measures 10-1/4" diameter and app 1-1/2" high. There are two adjustable metal bale handles. And a metal spout for the water to be added, there is no stopper on the spout, not threaded not a screw on type. There is solder around the area where the spout joins the metal reservoir. Here is a beautiful C.1835 brown on white transferware dinner plate by T. Mayer. I don't know the pattern name but it features a garden temple with flowers and 2 boats in the center and a floral vine border around the rim. There is a scalloped edge with a raised bead around the rim. see photo) It is impressed"T. MAYER/ STOKE" on the base. It is about 10 1/2" in diameter. Staffordshire Dark Brown Transferware 10.5" Dinner Plate, Lily of the Valley
Staffordshire Lily of the Valley Very Dark Brown(Almost Black) Transferware O ffered for auction: This is a lovely large plate with an elaborate transferware design of lily of the valley flowers surrounded by a garland and ribbon on the embossed scalloped rim. After extensive googling. I have not been able to identify the maker or date. The closest I could find was the same plate(but in a lavender or purple color) offered in a"Victoriana" auction at a New Hampshire auction house, where it was listed as Staffordshire transferware. This large plate measures 10.5 inches wide across the rim. It is in good condition. With no chips or cracks. There is a fair amount of utensil marks, but none that mar the design. There is also heavy crazing, most noticeable on the underside, particularly on the underedge of the rim, where it has slightly ... moredarkened in places. There is a bit of faint brown crazing on the front as well, along with a brown scratched mark on the back side(see photos with red arrows) Finally, there is a spot in the design where the transferware ends and starts! The only mark on this interesting plate is an impressed number. Which is hard to decipher; I think it says 639(or 630) I believe this plate is likely mid-19th Century ironstone, possibly from the Aesthetic movement. Terms. Conditions, and Shipping: 1. Antique Transferware Blue& White Dinner Plate with Gold Rim and Trim-dates from the 1800's-1875? Absolutely gorgeous and unique blue and white transfer ware dinner plate with gold rim and trim. The center design shapes remind us of a blue and white. Church stained-glass window. It has a gold tone rim and gold tone inner ring. The photo has white glare spots- not flaws in the plate) This plate has a British registered mark(See close-up photo) but does not have a specific maker's mark. Our research about the registered mark says that the mark classifies: it as ceramics-dates it to January 22. 1875 We don't know the maker and aren't 100% sure of its exact year as our research was a bit confusing. Pretty antique blue transferware turkey plate. Dinner size measuring to be about 10 1/4" in diameter. It is marked on the back in blue with the R&M Co. trademark, which is Rowland and Marsellus. Also in blue is Staffordshire England. There are 8 plates listed today in total. This sale is for one. Each plate is the same and found together as a set. Because of the nature of the plate, their age, and the slight variances in either the printing or crazing, they are being listed and sold separately. Each plate has a removable label number to identify the plate for each given listing, this is for plate#8. They are all in very good condition for their age. Free of chips, cracks or stains. Lovely Ironstone Polychrome J. Wedgwood Purple Transferware Dinner Plate Tyrol
This auction is for Lovely Ironstone Polychrome Dinner Plate made by J. Wedgwood of England in the mid 1800s. It is in the company's Beautiful and hard to find Tyrol pattern. Which is a purple or lavender transferware European mountain scene with urns, fences, palaces and flowers. The flowers are hand-colored under the glaze in blue, red, yellow and green. It measures 10 1/2 inches across and Displays Wonderfully. It is in Very Good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or damage to the plate. I do not even see any utensil marks. It does have fine. Even crazing as expected from ironstone of this era and only adds to the character and authenticity of the piece. There is a small rough spot on the edge at 6 o'clock which I believe was done I the firing process(last photo) and the back has a very faint toning ... moreline. The plate has the Wedgwood ribbon backstamp. J. Wedgwood operated as a potter in Burslem and Tunstall England between 1841 and 1860. Check out my! NY Historical Blue Transferware 10" Plate I tem Description: Up for auction is a very nice antique historical blue transferware dinner plate manufactured in England during the early 1800s. The plate features Park Theatre in New York with several couples standing on a curb in the foreground. The border displays acorns and oak leaves with a stippled background and the back is marked with the name of the scene. The edge of the plate is slightly scalloped and o verall the plate measures approximately 10 1/8" in diameter. Item Condition: The overall condition of the plate is very good. It is extremely clean with no chips. Cracks, or repaired areas except for a tight crack inside the well of the plate. The white earthenware is still very bright and clean with no stains and the blue ... morecolor of the plate is deep with nice contrast. The glaze is glossy with fine consistent crazing. And there are moderate utensil marks on the surface of the plate. I see minor rubbing and glaze loss to the rim and the base has light wear.
