ANTIQUE POLYCHROME TRANSFERWARE SOUP BOWL PLATE STAFFORDSHIRE CHINOISERIE MINTON
I am downsizing some of my collections and have decided to sell my VERY RARE ANTIQUE EARLY most likely ENGLISH 1800's POLYCHROME GREEN TRANSFERWARE STAFFORDSHIRE? MINTON? SOFT PASTE CHINOISERIE BUTTERFLY PEONY MOTIF SOUP BOWL PLATE. I have had this for a very long time sitting in my cupboard. So time for someone else to enjoy it! This is an absolutely gorgeous soft paste polychrome soup plate. I have never seen another(except for the one other that I have! This is a dodecahedron or 12 sides shallow soup plate measuring 8 3/4" in diameter. The plate is a rare green blue transfer with p o l y c h r o m e butterfly, peony, rose. Coreopsis, delphinium and assorted leaves and sprays. The colors are gorgeous. Rich and deep, periwinkle blue, antique red and mulberry. There are condition issues. But who cares? You are not going to find another ... moreof these! There is a 2" long very old brown hairline that goes clean through and a very old brown stained 3/4" X 3/4" chip flake on the edge(please see my photos, these condition issues are well documented) The glaze is crackled throughout. There is toning discoloration and little gray mottled stains throughout as well as little old flea bites on the underside"foot" rim. This still has a wonderful antique look and if you love soft paste. This is a must have! The underside is marked with an eagle, cormorant bird or phoenix. Not sure, as well as" PRINCES FEATHER E. CHALINOR" I have always loved this soup plate. Truly hate to part with it but I am in the process of downsizing due to some life changes. Good luck on this wonderful and very very old rare soft paste plate, don't miss out on this! It is just charming with the wonderful feel of a time gone by. Small Antique Mason's Ironstone Polychrome& Gilded Plate c1813-1820 ~ Mandarin Family Pattern ~ 6" in diameter An early Mason's ironstone plate made to closely resemble Chinese export with finely raised transfer of a Chinese Mandarin. His wife and child in an outdoor palace room. It is thickly colored in with enamels in a broad palette and given some gilded details to the border and the wife's bodice. It has an early circular impressed Mason's mark and the printed crown mark is colored in pink; the logo was usually colored in whatever color the decorator used last. Antique Faience Cake Plate lot ironstone Polychrome GL Ashworth set of 6
You are bidding on a grand serving set of 4 cake plates and 2 serving plates total of 6. These are a rare find to have all together and highly marked with circle mark. Stamp and incised Ashworth on each plate. These are from the early 1800's as the England B Mark with the circle and made in Hanley England Made by G.L Ashworth brothers with the Incised Ashworth mark. The set shows the journey of a European family with their horse and son. There are three patterns of the family. I have been unable to locate any of these to price compare but did see only one similiar with same mark chipped going for 299.00 on an antique sight for one cake plate. So I am selling as the set as I found them because they are amazing together. These are all about 9 1/2" wide plates. The large cake plate stands 5 1/2" high and the 3 other cake plates ... morestand about 2 1/2" high. These were purchased over 15 years ago at a victorian Estate in Englewood New Jersey. All of the pieces show great from the top with no chips on top but there are some chips on the bottom of most of the plates. They are very heavy and believe they are polychrome or faience if you look at the bottom their is sum tin showing through. One cake plate and one serving plate is fine with no chips or breaks. The tall one has three chips under. Another has two. One cake plate has one and the second serving plate has one. These are in as is condition. I have pictured the bottoms so you can see. Makes a great entertainment set with rare pottery from centuries ago. These are as is with under issues on plate. These will be shipped in more than one box for the safety of the items and insured. If I can reduce shipping and you are closer I will do so.

This auction is for a Striking Early Polychrome Hand Painted 19th Century plate. It is Beautifully decorated in a Classic Chinoiserie Floral Pattern in Bold Imari colors of Cobalt Flow Blue. Iron Red, Orange and Green with Gold accents and outlining. The plate has a scalloped edge and measures 9 1/4 inches across. It is in good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or repairs. There is fine even crazing and some toning in spots. The moss green colored rim paint is flaking in spots(see last photo) Even so. Fabulous Minton Polychrome Plate Rare "Belmont Japan" Pattern BB New Stone c1870
This auction is for a Magnificent Museum Quality BB"New Stone" Polychrome Plate made by Minton circa 1870s using a rare Mother of Pearl Glaze/Paint. I have seen and sold a lot of antique plates but this is perhaps the most beautiful to date. It is in Minton's Striking and ultra rare pattern known as"Belmont Japan. It is so rare that I was just contacted by the Transferware Collectors Club and asked to give permission for them to use photos of this plate for their database archives. The pattern has a lovely floral and ribbon pattern with a sky blue rim and soft blues and reds and greens and pinks and purples elsewhere. I have taken shots in different lighting conditions to show you just how truly amazing this plate is. Depending on the light and the angle. Antique Ironstone Transfer Printed w/Polychrome Highlights Staffordshire Plate
This item is a 9 3/8" mid 19th century transfer printed ironstone plate with polychrome highlights. The plate has 14 sides and raises up slightly on the edges making it 1 1/4" tall when flat. It is marked on the back"Brunswick No" and next to that it is embossed"Ironstone" The floral colors are purple. Pink and blue with some green leaves. The scroll design along the edge looks to be a very dark purple or navy and the plate itself is an oyster off white. It does have crazing throughout the piece with light staining as shown in the various close up photos. There is one small glaze pop as shown in the last photo. Antique 1860s English Aesthetic Movement Polychrome Plate England Transferware
Offered for auction is a beautiful example of an 1860's English porcelain or ceramic plate with Aesthetic Movement polychrome decoration. I'm not much of a porcelain expert. But I think this also qualifies as transferware. This plate measures about 10 inches in diameter. The wide border has two spots of embossed/raised flower and leaf decoration on the edge, painted in a dark brown and rust. The entire decoration is just beautiful; be sure to note(I hope you can see this clearly in the photos) the center decoration with the"table" and bowl are painted in a gold/marigold luster paint. The detail of the rocks in the center right is also painted in luster paint. This auction is for a Striking and Very Old Ironstone Polychrome Flow Blue Plate with Rich Imari Colors and Oriental design. I believe it dates to the mid 1800s and is a beautiful example of British pottery that will instantly add color and elegance to any china cabinet. I am not certain of the maker but it likely is from the famed Staffordshire potters. Such as Alcock or others. It is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or repairs. The piece does have fine crazing and there is some toning discoloration on the front and spots on the back that is common in ironstone of this period. You are looking at a beautiful representation of late 17th C- early 18th C Imari pottery art. Imari porcelain(伊万里焼) is the name for Japanese porcelain wares made in the town of Arita. They were exported to Europe extensively from the Port of Imari between the second half of the 17th century and the first half of the 18th century. The Japanese as well as Europeans called them Imari. This Beautiful Imari plate is in Superb condition without any cracks. Chips, flakes, hairlines, etc. The crazing is barely noticeable to the eye. There is only one tiny issue that I saw upon final inspection and that is a tiny flake of the gold on the rim. This plate measures 9 1/4" round. The colors are magnificent without any wear or diminish of hue. The flow blue stands on a brilliant white with accent colors of rusty red which is lavished and trimmed in ... moregold. Antique Stoneware ORIENTAL POLYCHROME PLATE - Produced 1820 -1830 - VERY NICE!
Today I am offering a very interesting plate that I acquired some time ago from a professor at the local college who insisted it was English stoneware. I mention this because he may well be right! But since the only marking on the back is in an oriental language.I thought it may have come from china( Anyway. We both agreed on the age.somewhere between 1820-1830. I hope that whomever buys this piece will know more than I do and so unlock it's mystery. The plate measures approximately 7.25 inches and is quite heavy for its size. The most interesting thing to me is that the color of the body. Against which color has been applied is not the traditional white or cream that we are used to- but rather a sort of bluish-gray. It is a light bluish-gray but definitely not white. Please review all the pictures as they tell much much more than my ... moremere words. Condition: Nice for age with no breaks. No chips, no repairs. However there are utensil marks on the face as well as the rubbing off of glaze in certain spots along the rim. SUPERB ANTIQUE POLYCHROME TRANSFER PLATE ORIENTAL PAGODAS
We are using a lot of superlatives in our description. But this ironstone plate deserves them. This is a superb example of polychrome transferware. Although not stamped with a maker's mark. We are certain this is an English piece. We estimate the date of this piece to be between 1840 and 1870. Measuring 10" in diameter. This plate features a Chinese scene of pagodas, bridge over an ornamental water, and assorted flora. The rim has a marvelous crosshatched black border ornamented with roses and chrysanthemums. The colors are vibrant, the transfer is crisp and clear with overpainted areas in leaves and flowers. On the underside, marks include the number 2 stamped in black and the number 03 impressed. The condition of this plate is exceptional. There is fine allover glaze crackling. But no stains. There are no chips or cracks, very ... morelight wear on the rim and pedestal, and a very few light utensil marks. It looks like this has lived most of its life in a cabinet. A true dark"Violet" purple in the hand brushed strokes. that's NOT a dark Imari type of blue) But most uncommonly. A true violet purple! So this is a strange piece~ It seems rather primitive in execution overall, ~ yet has a costly form to manufacture. Very fine transfer patterning, and opulent colors used~ albeit by a very young or hurried hand, dear heart!~ What's more, ~~The truly delicate border transfer is laid down in a very soft blue. Except at the"bubbly pools" intermittent along the edge, wherein the"bubbly pools" are laid in violet alongside the blue. ~The scope of these efforts is just amazing to me. LARGE ANTIQUE COLORFUL PORCELAIN POLYCHROME PLATE PLATTER - GRAPES - GERMANY (?)
Up for auction is a stunning polychrome plate/platter featuring a cluster of purple grapes. This plate measures approximately 11 3/8" in diameter. The background consists of three colors- green. Turquoise and pale yellow- which fade softly into one another around the plate. The large cluster of grapes is done in varying shades of purple, blue and violet with green and brown foliage. The plate is trimmed in gold around the edge. The back is solid white and unmarked. I've seen two other identical plates that were stamped"Germany" on the back, which leads me to believe this piece is of German origin as well. There is a thick strand of wire for hanging already attached to the back of the piece. I find no cracks or chips. MULBERRY STAFFORDSHIRE GREEN POLYCHROME FLORAL PLATE
This is a beautiful plate with lots of color! The leaves and tendrils are mulberry transferware. The main body has been decorated in green. The flowers and leaves have been polychrome hand decorated with red. Lavender and purple with yellow accents. The border swirls are what I would call burgundy. In all it has a very striking appearance. Overall condition is good. No chips. There are a couple of minor issues; there is some glaze loss or rubbing to the white area in the center of plate and there is a very tight hairline which exhibits a tiny bit of discoloration. This is not seen from the front. The plate is 8 7/8" diameter and has a nice scalloped edge. Antique 18C Delft Polychrome Floral Charger Plate Dutch English Marked- AS. 12+"
This listing is for a very old 12 1/4" Delft Charger. It is marked A S. in underglaze blue. The(non-rimmed) base shows heavy. Age-appropiate, high-point wear. This charger was meant for utilitarian use- not decoration. It doesn't sit quite flat, and the height varies between 1 7/16" and 1 13/16" The reverse shows a faint, very tight spiderweb- only a portion of one ray transfers through to the front(7 O'clock) and stops short of the rim. The plate rings equally around the rim. The rim has multiple glaze flakes, a few small misses, and one chip to the actual pottery. The glaze is quite thick. Visible from the side at 2 O'clock is the largest glaze flake(6th photo doesn't show it, but 10th does) I am uncertain if the plate is English or Dutch, but from the others that I've viewed it appears to be English(any ... moreinfo here would be helpful- and a more accurate age as well! This listing is for an early antique ivory color Ironstone 9 1/2" Schooner Dinner Plate decorated in brown. Green, blue, and coppery red polychrome transferware. Plate is marked with an incised"Ivory" and an"S" and 8/32. The numbers 9869 with 2 dots under the 9 are hand painted in red. Plate is most likely from England, by an unknown maker to me. Plate is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. Some light utensil marks present on inner red border only.Very nice early antique plate!

In addition there is no staining on the front or back nor is there any wear to the glaze on the raised lettering which is often the case when you find these early pieces. These were only used for wall decoration, along with platter shown in main pic) Size is approx 10" Was salvaged from a set that had staples and repairs on every one. These 2 were in the most presentable condition. While at one time used for meals. As there are utensil scuffs on the surface, for the last 25 years, hung on a wall. Not perfect. But beautiful, dainty, very cheerful and colorful. Has hairline cracks all around the inside middle. Someone has attempted to glue/stabilize these(prior to present owners purchase of these) Date produced was: Oct 23. 1847 VANDYKE may be the manufacturer or the name of the pattern.
