The three adjustable shelves each measure 9” in depth and 41 ¼” in width. This is truly one of the most beautiful Victorian Secretaries of its kind that we have had the privilege to offer. You will notice that there is some faint writing on the back of the piece(see the e-Bay photo) that probably indicates either the maker or the person for whom the piece was made. From what we can see it is signed M. Hall, Hannibal, MO. The details on this Secretary are absolutely wonderful! This beautiful Secretary is constructed of mahogany. And flame mahogany over a secondary wood and the details are exquisite! The bookcase top is graced with a beautiful open arch top with a lovely center foliate carved pedestal that is surrounded on each side with elegant applied scroll land leaf adornments. The bookcase top doors have wavy glass that appears to be original. And three adjustable shelves. The original finish has charming wear and stains for antique character. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. Measuring approx. 43" wide x 25" x 28.5" tall. Striking burl panels all around four sides, replaced leatherette vinyl blotter top. The detail in this piece is beautiful with the carved walnut lock cover! This desk looks like it's ready to use right out of the shipping box. Keep in mind this piece dates to the Civil War Era and will show signs of wear from years of pampered use that include faint scratches. Dings& dust! I believe the green top is a replacement it looks very good. Use the enlarge button on the photos to get a good look at what you are buying. Condition: Sturdy ready to use. Good condition. The finish could be original? It looks satin like in nature and smooth to the touch. The drawer pulls in and out working very well. The original key is included and works the lock the way it was meant to. I will pick at the not so obvious flaws ~ The rollers are original with metal castor and wooden wheels. One of the metal caster attachments is missing a piece see photo#10, photo#8 is how it should look. This does not deter from its use just pointing it out. The turned decorative walnut knob on both sides of the stretcher base have some slight chipping. Keep in mind these chips are on the bottom of the knob so it's hidden when you look at the table see#11. The original manufacturer tag is still attached inside the drawer reading"F. Geldowsky of E. Cambridge Massachusetts" The last photo show the bottom of the drawer that has one piece wood! A retirement presentation gift to Judge Fred W. Davis. Pennsylvania from the Monroe County Bar Association on December 30th, 1967. Fred Wallace Davis(1897-1994) of East Stroudsburg. Pennsylvania. Davis graduated from Dickinson Law School, was special attorney general, 1931-35, and district attorney of Monroe County, 1940-45. He was appointed judge in 1945 and elected judge for a 10 year term beginning in January 1948. After retiring in 1968 he was a senior judge for the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, trying cases in various counties throughout the commonwealth. He was a member of the Monroe County Bar Association and the Superior and Supreme courts of Pennsylvania. And was awarded the honorary ... moredegree of doctor of laws by Dickinson Law School in 1976. He was a member of the General Assembly. 1928-30 and past member of the Pennsylvania Criminal Procedural Rules Committee. In1962. He received the Golden Deed Award from the Stroudsburg Exchange Club. It has an Eastlake period door latching system that was added later with the original lock still being in place. We did not get a key. Its a simple lock that can be re-keyed for $20. If its more than that your in the wrong locksmith's shop. The unfinished sections of this piece had some type of finish on it at some point in its life. The sides are still in a light ebonized finish. This is how the gentleman purchased it and it looks fantastic. We are just giving you all the facts but we do not consider this a cost debate. We paid very fairly for it and we are asking a fair price for one of the very best decorative wall desks you will see for many years to come if ever. Its base is made from 17 pieces gracefully inverted pieces of hard wood with a picket fence type cap on each of these spokes. This is one gorgeous piece of wood. It is burled walnut and is from the early 1800s. It is a lap desk or maybe used as a bed tray. It is 32" long and 14" tall. It is in really nice condition. You can obviously tell it is a true antique but I don't see any chips on the edges, etc. Please ask if you have questions. French Louis XVI Antique Satin Wood Marquetry Writing Secretary Desk Chest Table This is a magnificent Louis XVI style antique Secretary Desk leather top writing desk with satin wood burl wood insets and superb marquetry and parquetry bordering on satin wood grained fronts and sides with finely engraved brass mounts. Dolphin feet, and drawer pulls. It measures about 32 inches(81.28 cm) tall by 25.2 inches(64 cm) wide by 16 inches(40.64 cm) deep. It weighs over 41 pounds(18.6 Kg) by itself. Without any packing materials. It features two pull out drawers with wavy. Curved fronts, plus a slide out pull out leather topped writing desk platform that also can be taken completely out. The drawers are all dove tailed joined indicating earlier era construction and show aged wood inside. There is magnificent marquetry pinstripe bordering very finely ... moreinset wood pieces that are only found on the more exceptionally crafted pieces. Here's what I stated about this gorgeous cabinet's condition: One wood split crack and chip of inlaid veneer marquetry on front middle of bottom drawer. The drawers have some resistance when pulling out. But the can be pulled out completely and fairly easily, but just have some snug fit little tug drag to them, as does the slide out writing desk platform, but not at all a problem and just not real easy and loose pulling out. Some minor surfaces scratches, but other than these remarkably well preserved and beautiful condition dovetail joined antique writing desk cabinet. SORRY FOR THE PICTURES FOR SOME REASON THEY DIDN`T COME OUT GREAT. This is a very nice mahogany partners desk made in England circa 1870. Its in very good condition. The only thing I can see is that there has been a repair to the top right of the desk but looks fine, there are a few marks in the leather again nothing really bad. To either side of the desk there are pull out slides with leather insert. The quality is very good the drawer linings are solid oak with dove tail joints. This comes in 3 parts two pedestals and the top. It has brass handles and also brass key plates. There is one key plate that is missing. Measurements are 60 wide. 45 deep, 32 high.

And unique spiral full columns flanking the drawers at the base Circa 1830's. This fine 19th century piece has its original wavy glass and original hardware with all the locks intact but the key just aids in opening the doors at the top and doesn't work the locks. This secretary desk does separate into two pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. This secretary measures 76 1/2 inches tall.41 3/4 inches wide,24 inches deep at the base, 13 inches deep at the bookcase portion top and weighs approximately 150 lbs. The fold out writing surface measures 41 3/4 inches ... morewide by 19 inches deep and is 34 1/2 inches in height to the floor. This Empire desk early hand-cut dovetail joinery on the drawer ends and lovely crotch mahogany on the drawer fronts and doors and rests on four large bun feet. This piece does show some veneer chips and some areas where the veneer has been patched with newer veneer. This is very common in period Empire pieces of this age along with some slight age shrinkage cracks in the veneer. Partners' Desk- Antique English Mahogany -London- circa 1850
This over-sized partner's desk was made in England circa 1850. I found it in an antique store in 1974 and restored it. It served as my desk in my 40 years practicing law. And it never failed to draw compliments. It is the ingenious"pedestal" style, meaning that it consists of three pieces: 2 side pedestals(on concealed rollers) which contain locking drawers on one side and cabinets on the other, and the top which is inlaid leather. The top is grooved so as to fit perfectly atop the pedestals for a solid connection,yet easy moving. The tops of these desks were made of one solid piece of mahogany. As such, they are prone to crack along one line across the desktop. This was the case when I bought it. We repaired it and recovered the top using an ENTIRE cowhide. Designed for multiple purposes, this adjustable table features a decorative wrought iron stand and mahogany table top in great condition for its age. Made in the early 1900s, the advertisement shown in this listing depicts this one as"No. 4" the deluxe model with nickel plated metal parts being used for a bedside table. There are a number of potential uses for this table so use your imagination! There is a bit of rust here and there but I am selling this"as found" in its original condition leaving it to the new owner to restore to their liking. The table top measures about 18" x 27" and has minor surface scratches. It has two book holder brackets that are spring loaded ... morein good working condition. French Louis XVI Style Cylinder Top Writing Desk c. 19th Century Item# 130009GFL22 This is a gorgeous little treasure; crafted during the 19th Century. This French Louis XVI Style Ladies Writing Desk features a Cylinder Roll top that functions in conjunction with the opening of the single drawer. This effectively allows you to lock the desk and all contents with a single lock, because with the drawer being locked there is no access to the roll top; with the roll top being closed, the slant front is unable to open and the compartment beneath is sealed. The desk does not come with it's key, though these keys are often not difficult to come by. Retaining a warm cognac-mahogany tone throughout, a patina slowly developing under many layers of wax, the piece is delightful to look upon. The slant front drops to reveal a pink-red tone leather ... morewriting surface with gilt highlights, this likely a replacement. The back of this lifts to reveal a storage compartment. My uncle was a great gatherer of items. Many of which came from stoves. I have started going through these items and will be posting some. There is a lot of great rust in this pile! These are a pair of fancy design cast iron bases for a school house desk. They are embossed with the maker AM Andrews Co Chicago, also a patent no. of 641061, I am not exactly sure how this was set up, but there is a piece on each that has a bolt and folds over, creating an"L" for the seat portion to sit on, at the top portion there are small notches where, I believe the top hooked in. RARE Antique English 19th C Architects Inlaid Leather top DESK Bureau Plat
Just removed from local estate is this Rare 19th century English Architect Desk. On 4 legs with castor wheels. The top is covered with a beautiful gold tooled leather. There is one large drawer which features a desk interior. Fitted with a pair of removable ink jars with Sterling silver lids. There is one more narrow but long drawer on the other side. Two sides have a pair of great candle stands that pull out. Top it seld is adjustable, it has a support legs below, that help you set the incline to your liking. Molding you see on the top, which would hold the paper you are working on, is removeable, fitted with metal plugs. Condition is good, it was well taken care of. Size is 26" x 22" and 28.75" tall. 1800'S FLAME MAHOGANY WRITING DESK WITH 2 DOOR BOOKCASE & 1 DRAWER
First. The pictures do not do justice to the beautiful piece of work. It's a Flame Mahogany Writing Desk with overhead 2-Door bookcase and single Drawer below. This piece was estimated to have been made in the 1800's and is in remarkable condition. The inside 2 drawers are hand dove-tailed. The bottom wide drawer is hand dove-tailed as well. The bead work along the front doors and along the top is in excellent condition and beautifully done. This great piece of furniture hows signs of age as you can see in the close up picture of the zipper-like crackle in the veneer, but, there is no separation. The desk measures 80" at the peak and is 39" wide and is mounted on 4 turned legs. The depth at the top is 11" and is 18-1/2" for the drawer section. One picture show the top of the piece and another shows the 4 separate ... morepieces which form the back. There are 4 boards shown in the'back' picture. Those individual boards measure 12" 12" 19" 8" There is a'hook' latch along the side that holds the writing platform in an upright position. This listing is for local pickup only.

1890's Three draw secretary's desk
Late 1980's Secretaries Desk Excellent condition Solid Mahogany with few marks of time. Top shelf back. Back face of desk, and all the draw face's have a beautiful burllwood vaneere. The desk has no external scars or damage, still has the original rollers. The only negative to speak of is one of the draw pulls does not match the rest of the pulls.
