It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. The dimensions are 40 1/2” tall its tallest point. 33 1/2“ wide at its widest point at the base, and 19” deep when closed,and 34“ deep when opened. Local pickup only.

The right side has a 10 1/2 X 11 1/2 Mirror on top, then a drop front desk with 6 small pigeon hole shelves& 1 small drawer. Under drop front there is 1 pull out drawer& under that there is large door with 1 more shelf plus the bottom which totals 2 shelves. This Secretary stands 67" tall, measures 39" across the front and 14" deep from the front to the back. It's in very good vintage condition for it's age& will hold a great deal of items. The Back has written in black"J D Westcott Newport NJ Troley(Trolley is misspelled) This item was likely delivered by Trolley back in the early 1900's" This Beautiful Antique ... moreOak Secretary/Desk is in Very Good Vintage Condition for it's 75-100+ year age. The Mirror has age stains/spots& is slightly loose in the framing. The original wheels on the bottom are in very good condition& still work well. The Shelves are sturdy& Most of the screws& the metal brackets that hold the shelving are modern. The 4 lock/key holes& some of the other hardware are original to my knowledge. But I have not found the correct key for the locks. I believe the Glass Door still has the original Glass. The Drop Down door for the desk is divided into 2 sections with a slight opening in between the top& bottom decorated with fancy wood applique designs. My Mother had this desk refinished in the 1960's which is why it's in such good looking condition today. It's been well cared for over the years. C 1840 ANTIQUE AMERICAN MAHOGANY SLANT DROP FRONT DESK SECRETARY BUREAU LOCKS
Here is an absolutely gorgeous antique mahogany desk with lovely burl mahogany veneer and border design inlay. Circa 1840 and American made. This slant front desk drawers. The desk stands 43 inches tall and measures 38 inches wide by 21 inches deep, front to back. The writing surface itself is 36 inches wide by 21 inches from front to back. The surface is beautiful and in very good condition. The inside of the desk also reveals 16 small drawers and an additional cubby with lovely inlay door as shown. Below the desk slant front. T here are four large drawers. Each 31 1/2 inches wide and 18 1/4 inches front to back and then 2 3/4, 3 3/4, 4 3/4 and 6 inches deep respectively, in descending order. The lock sets are original and in working order and the keys are replaced. The drawers are all still lined with a thin blue paper.certainly a Victorian ... morething. The desk is in very good early 19th century condition in that it has had some restoration through the years.ie veneer and stringing inlay repairs and replacements. Hardware is old, however, not original, and there is some restoration to the drawer slides. All in all, very sturdy and ready to use! Beautiful Antique Oak Secretary Bookcase Side by Side drop front Desk, quality
This is a really well built secretary desk/bookcase. Nice heavy oak. Sawtooth shelf brackets. Knapp dovetailing in the drawers dates the piece between 1870 and 1900. The smaller mirror is bevelled. The pulls are all a nice heavy brass. The condition is excellent. The cabinet is 81 inches tall. 55 inches wide and 17 inches deep. There are six skeleton locks. But no key. The cabinet on the upper left has a mirror on the back wall. There are two oak shelves that can be adjusted with the sawtooth oak bracket(see photo) It is 27 inches wide 45 inches tall and 9.5 inches deep. The two drawers on the lower left are 8 inches tall. 27 inches wide and 9 inches deep. The drop front desk lid is 18 inches tall and 23 inches wide. Inside the desk ar cubby hole and a small drawer. Below the desk part is a drawer that is 4 1/2 inches tall. 23 inches tall ... moreand 9 inches deep. Below that drawer is a cabinet that is 16 1/2 inches tall. 23 1/2 inches wide and 14 inches deep. The cabinet is in excellent condition. The carved top piece is removable. Also the remainder of the cabinet is in two pieces. Witht he larger part sitting on the shoerter base. Local pickup only. antique walnut belter, mitchell & rammelsburg drop front rococo secretary desk
for sale probably the nicest period walnut secretary piece to be had. it was advertised as belter some 20-25 years ago at an estate auction in miss. i expect it is mitchell and rammelsburg but it does not matter. it is civil war era probably made circa 1860-1870. the drawer are hand dove tailed for joints and the bottoms are hand chamfered. it is in perfect condition. the drawers are all solid and do not wiggle or wobble. all the drawers and doors fit perfectly. all drawers and doors have functional locks that work perfectly with the original key. there are no seams in the construction. the sides of the lower drawer portion is one board like 18+ inches wide as well as the sides of the bookcase portion. the walnut used in the construction is of the finest quality with wonderful and perfect grain. it as you see has a pierced carved crest or ... morecrown board that is superbly done and matches the carving on the top of the arched doors of the bookcase. inside the cubbies are perfect along with the drawer. it is a 2 piece affair. The bookcase and cubbies section lifts off the base. it sits on the base and is secured with pegs on either side. i expect the leather on the drop front has been replaced. it is in great condition. the whole piece is just about as good as it can get, not damages or blemishes anywhere that are noteworthy. of course all the large key covers are carved as well as the drawer pulls. it is just a very very nice item. i think it cost about 4500 20 some years ago. i have still have several secretaries and have owned many many of them. i have never owned a nicer one. it is probably the tallest one i have ever owned. it is 98.5 inches to the top of the crest with its original porcelain casters. the cabinet portion is 33 inches tall and 44 inches wide, and 19.5 inches deep. it is 65.6 inches from the top of the cabinet to the top of the crest. the outside of the bookcase is 42 inches wide and 122 inches deep. the inside of the bookcase is 35 inches tall, 10 inches deep, and 40.5 inches wide. the secretary

We are selling a lovely antique secretary drop front desk with an inlaid design on the front. As you can see the inlay pattern is quite nice and incorporates mother of pearl. The desk stands approximately 40" high by 28" wide by 15.5" deep. While the desk is a little rough around the edges- it could use a thorough cleaning and does have a number of scuffs and dings. As well as some loss to the back panel and the lower right edge of the front- it has a nice shape and patina with a little TLC will have a lot of use left to offer.
