This desk is very solid with metal and wood construction- built to last! It has some wear from age as expected but overall it is in good condition. It measures 24" tall and 24 3/4" from the back rest to the front edge of the desk. Hello.I have a antique Amish Pennsylvania Dutch children's school desk up for your consideration today and being modeled by my beautiful niece Haley.It was manufactured in Lancaster.PA. and purchased by a friend while shopping in Lancaster for antiques around 25 years ago.It is a very well built desk made from local hard woods incorporating I believe mortise and tenon pegged joinery for the legs, and tung and grove on the table top and seat helping to insure and continue its longevity.Those craftsmen gave you a lot back in the day.I have this chair listed as being built around the 1930 to 1940 but it may very well be much older! The desk and chair have the usual ware that all school desks have, like some writing and scratches and even a few nicks from the school children themselves, but that is to be expected and even considered desirable ... morepatina in today's market! As a note the center board on the chair seat is a little lose as it has probably been for the last 50 yrs.or so but with this construction method I don't believe is going anywhere and should be just fine.And also is missing the left leg cross brace but remains very sturdy and hard to notice.The desk measures 24" wide at the table top x 18 1/4" deep x 26 1/2" high.No shipping on this item. It tried to clean it with water but will not come off. It is being sold"as is" It has been repainting. Seats folds up and down nicely. Excellent ornate scroll work in the cast iron. Antique Child's School Desk Maple & Cast Iron Ink Hole Pencil Slot Buffalo, NY
This is a very nice antique maple child's school desk with cast iron legs. It was probably made in the late 1800's and features an ink well and pencil slot on top. The cast iron has very nice scroll work and is marked A.H. Andrews Buffalo. New York. The bench has alternating colored slats giving it a very attractive look. The cast iron had been painted white at some point. It is in excellent condition given it's age. However, there are two separate cracks on the top, not including two by the inkwell. One measures approximately 5 1/2" and the other measures approximately 2 1/2" They look like they have been there for some time. The smaller one is along the seam. The overall measurements are approximately 24" high; 19" deep; 18 1/2" high. This is being sold"As Is. The desk can also be used to display ... moretoys. Antique Child School Desk Oak Cast Iron Adjustable Tilt Top Book Drawer Rack
As found at estate sale from garage. Dust and all. 23" tall desk top, back of seat is 26 1/2" tall. Desk top is 22" x 15. 26" overall length. Desk tilts and entire top goes up and down to adjust as child grows, it has a 3" up and down play by loosening 2 round knobs on side. The top also slants at an angle and is adjustable. I could not find a makers name on it. Except the ink well is made by Henry Wilkes Bakelite, it has a glass well. This desk will last a lifetime and will be passed down from generation to generation. It's a great investment. Picture your children sitting in it for pictures every year to see them growing up.

This very nice late1800s school desk will look great anywhere in your home. The bench seats folds up. The desktop has a hole for inkwell and a groove for pencils. Very nice ornate wrought iron legs add to the beauty. Inscribed on the leg are the patent dates from 1881. 1890, and 1891. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos but the words are much clearer than these pictures show. There are many uses for these school desks as a decoration or actual use in your house. I have seen some used as very nice plant stands. This desk is in great shape for it's age with some minor scratches and aging. Antique Child School Desk & Chair by Chandler cast iron wood
Antique adjustable child's Desk and Chair made by Chandler Co. of Boston Massachusetts- wood with cast iron legs- chair leg marked with patent dates Nov 14. 1893 and June 9, 1893. This desk and chair set needs restoration. Both the desk and the chair indicate they are adjustable on cast iron bases. The desk is suppose to adjusts and the seat can adjust as well- though this old antique school desk and chair does need refurbishing. The desk has slates of loose wood on top and bottom, and one leg of desk is not affixed to bottom. It's possible that one leg on desk will be removed for shipping. Though this desk set has been in storage for many year. The bent wood chair is in solid condition- Both desk and chair do show age with scratches, scuffs, nicks and minor dings and digs. The Cast Iron base of the chair is marked"CHANDLER" ... morealong with the patent dates from the late 1800's. The cast iron base of chair and legs of desk features holes around the base for securing it to the floor if desired. The set overall is in original condition. This is a Clean desk with minimal wear present. This desk weighs 25 pounds and measures 24 and 1/4" tall by 25 and 1/2" deep by 17 and 7/8" wide. The seat does pivot.
