There are a few small areas on the ornately carved back where there have been some small repairs to the ornately carved areas. There are a few light surface scratches to the finish from general use, but it has been very well cared for, and is in amazing condition. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece. It most likely dates to the middle to last part of the 19th Century. It does have some cracking in the front writing surface of the desk, but these areas are superficial thus far. The desk is made of what I believe is mahogany, and has ornately carved accecents on the vitrine shelf supports which are done in reverse scrolls.

ANTIQUE VINTAGE SCHOOL HOUSE SMALL CHILD'S DESK AND CHAIR MID CENTURY
Up for sale is this nice vintage school house small child's desk and chair with storage for lunch or books- great for decor or use. This desk is very solid with metal and wood construction- built to last! It has some wear from age as expected but overall it is in good condition. It measures 24" tall and 24 3/4" from the back rest to the front edge of the desk. The seat measures 11 1/2" by 11 1/2" and the desk measures 20" by 14 1/2" This desk is for a very small child- probably toddler to kindergarten. My uncle was a great gatherer of items. Many of which came from stoves. I have started going through these items and will be posting some. There is a lot of great rust in this pile! These are a pair of fancy design cast iron bases for a school house desk. They are embossed with the maker AM Andrews Co Chicago, also a patent no. of 641061, I am not exactly sure how this was set up, but there is a piece on each that has a bolt and folds over, creating an"L" for the seat portion to sit on, at the top portion there are small notches where, I believe the top hooked in. These are very nice and with some creativity could be made into a number of very cool things. They measure 29" across and are 29.5" tall, the base part(feet) 19" from foot to foot. Based on what I know I believe this to be a good estimate of the age. I think it has the original finish and the original hardware. I consider it to be in beautiful condition!
