Antique 19th Century Schoolmaster's Desk
Pictured is a Schoolmaster's Desk from 1850-1870 according to the person I bought it from eight years ago. All the antique experts I had look at that piece agreed with the age estimate. As you can see from the pictures. It has been used and is a charming piece. It is made of mixed hardwoods. The top folds up and exposes little compartments and drawers. It also has a writing surface that pulls out. I don't have the keys to any of the drawers but it wouldn't be hard to find one or have one made. Dimensions are 41 inches tall, 41 inches wide and 22 inches deep. This piece works particularly well as a dedicated desk in which to keep household bills, greeting cards and address books.

Antique Schoolmaster's Desk, Circa 1840's to 1860's, From Pennsylvania, Poplar
As far as I can determine. This Pennsylvania schoolmaster's desk is primarily made from poplar and is completely original. I believe it most likely dates from the 1840's- 1860's, and has been signed twice on the underneath side of one drawer with the initials PWS. Beneath that, also written in pencil or lead, is RD#1, whatever that may mean. This signature adds intrigue and interest to the desk. The hinges, strike, lock, escutcheon, and knobs on the two inside drawers all appear to be original. The measurements are 35 1/8" wide, 38 3/8" tall, and 24 3/4" deep. The desk definitely shows signs of age, but it is in very fine condition overall, and it is well constructed. Because of the size and weight of the desk, it is best suited for a local pick-up. In the event of shipping, the cost and responsibility is completely ... moreup to the buyer, but I am happy to assist with information. To me, this is a very cool piece and is perfect for a dedicated teacher who also happens to appreciate and collect antiques. Schoolmaster's desks are pretty hard to find, and especially ones that are this nice. My starting price is purposely low in hopes of generating some interest. Thanks for yours!

Primitive Antique Slanted Writing Desk Schoolmaster Depomaster General Store
I have a very old. Large primitive handmade slanted writing desk from the mid to late 1800s. It was probably used by a schoolmaster or possibly a depomaster as it has the cubby organizers inside which makes this piece more desirable. It is made of pine and has a very old green paint. It looks like it had a lock at one time, so it possibly could have been used in a general store as well? The hinges and nails are original, I can't see where anyone has tried to repair this piece. There are a few cracks in the wood. It measures 31" wide by 27" long by 9 1/2" tall. It weighs almost 30 lbs so you can choose to pick up locally or I will ship to continental U.S. Please email me with any questions.

Antique schoolmaster desk, American, late 1800 early 1900
This is an exquisite antique handcrafted schoolmaster desk. It is in excellent condition and as you can tell from the pictures has a vibrant walnut finish. We believe this to be a hardwood such as walnut or birch. Not entirely sure. There are no markings on this piece, but any knowledgeable professional dealing with antiques will tell you that not all antique furniture needs to have markings on it to make it special. It’s all in the craftsmanship. You’re welcome to come see it in person at the Golden Nugget in Lambertville NJ. We are there on Saturday and Sundays only. Measurements are; 34.25"H/back x 30.5H/front x 30.25"W x 21.75"D,RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*4a24%60%3C%3E-14b0cfdeec7-0x115-
