The drawers are all dove tail with brass ribbed knobs. The doors have locks, but there is no key. The desk is in wonderful condition apart from two small cracks on the solid oak top that has nothing to do with structure and you wouldn’t want to touch it. offered for sale is a fabulous r j horner true mahogany partner's desk. it is the largest model i believe. the top is 56 inches wide. 34 inches deep, and 32 inches tall. the knee hole is a bit over 24 inches tall. on each side there are two drawers on the right and a middle drawer over the knee hole. on the left is a door on each side that opens with folder dividers placed within. one side is a mirror image of the other, there are no fake doors, drawers, etc. on this piece. it is a very clean and neat piece and in near mint condition. there are few bumps and bruises here and there, but none that are noteworthy nor do they take away from the structure, function, and beauty of the desk. the mahogany in the piece is very good and is flame mahogany with wonderful grain throughout. i hope the pictures are good enough to display the beauty ... moreof this desk. of course the desk is not for everyone, just for those who want the best. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. i can help arrange transportation if that would be beneficial to anyone. good luck. by the way, these are quite rare and hard to come by. the last one i saw sell brought 16K at an auction with a 15 per cent buyers premium, which put it up to 18,400 when the smoke cleared.

There is a small drawer in the center flanked by three graduated drawers on each side. Each drawer has an individual key(key available) and is fitted with the original brass handles. The reverse has 9 dummy drawers which make the desk appear identical from both sides and it is perfect for sitting centrally in a room with the back on display. The desk has a number of very fine quality ... moredetails including hand carved panels at each flank and either side of the kneehole. The upper panels with etched back and crossed oak leaves on twisted branches and the lower panels of trailed ivy wrapped with ribbon. The upper drawers and side panels are dressed with thickly cut and beautifully flamed mahogany. The overhung rounded top is inset with an olive green leather in very good condition with gold tooled and embossed edge detail and gold leaves to each corner. All of the drawers open and close smoothly and have good strong interiors with dovetailed joints. The escutcheons are original throughout. The desk dismantles into three sections- two pedestals and top and has an unusual mechanism whereby the top slots down into the pedestals and wraps around the front- so that it looks very much as though it is made in one piece when all together. Condition: there are minor dings and veneer repairs here and there to the working drawers and some very fine and old grain cracks which are stable and not going anywhere. SORRY FOR THE PICTURES FOR SOME REASON THEY DIDN`T COME OUT GREAT. This is a very nice mahogany partners desk made in England circa 1870. Its in very good condition. The only thing I can see is that there has been a repair to the top right of the desk but looks fine, there are a few marks in the leather again nothing really bad. To either side of the desk there are pull out slides with leather insert. The quality is very good the drawer linings are solid oak with dove tail joints. This comes in 3 parts two pedestals and the top. It has brass handles and also brass key plates. There is one key plate that is missing. Measurements are 60 wide. 45 deep, 32 high.

Partners' Desk- Antique English Mahogany -London- circa 1850
This over-sized partner's desk was made in England circa 1850. I found it in an antique store in 1974 and restored it. It served as my desk in my 40 years practicing law. And it never failed to draw compliments. It is the ingenious"pedestal" style, meaning that it consists of three pieces: 2 side pedestals(on concealed rollers) which contain locking drawers on one side and cabinets on the other, and the top which is inlaid leather. The top is grooved so as to fit perfectly atop the pedestals for a solid connection,yet easy moving. The tops of these desks were made of one solid piece of mahogany. As such, they are prone to crack along one line across the desktop. This was the case when I bought it. We repaired it and recovered the top using an ENTIRE cowhide. A very fine and imposing antique. Circa 1890's- 1900's, Empire style solid mahogany and flame mahogany veneers pedestaled partners desk. The carved claw feet have above carved acanthus scrolls, the pedestals partly turned and partly reeded. The kneehole entrys have carved acanthus leaf and half rosette. The three top surface boards have carved dagroon edge. The six drawers are bow fronted with flame veneers, the original glass knobs reeded. Includes the lock to both center drawer, the drawer interiors in maple and pine. The cross stretchers are squared and flame mahogany veneered. Desk measures 31" tall by 54" wide by 33" deep. From center half rosette at kneehole down to floor is 22-1/4" tall, by 15" deep to cross stretcher. All drawers feature working locks and keys and the original brass key escutcheons. Including dining furniture, bedroom furniture, and drawing room furniture, as well as lighting and ornamental pieces. This antique partners pedestal desk has to be the best model I've ever had. It's absolutely stunning& fabulous quality too. I can't possibly list all the incredible feature. But I'll try a bit, so please enlarge all the images to see for yourselves. I would date it to around the 1890-1910 period. It's burr walnut, figured walnut& solid walnut, plus it has the original brass handles. There is a shaped tooled leather writing surface& there are pull out leather topped slides on either side. The top section has ... moreconvexed ends all the way around, including the drawers. It has beautifully shaped burr walnut panels on the outside& inside the pedestal. All the edges are curved& it sits on ogee bracket feet. There are drawers to the front, plus a single drawer on the top section of the back& cupboards below, with shelves inside. The burr walnut is really tight& the drawers are finely dovetailed. This desk also has a lovely original colour& comes apart into three sections. I don't think it's quite sitting together perfectly in the images, which is why you may spot the odd slight gap where the top sits on the pedestals. In fact I can see it's not lined up straight. This desk has just been restored& polished, with locks& keys, so it's in good condition. Width- 64" 162 cm Depth- 39.5" 100 cm Height- 29.5" 75 cm Knee hole height- 24" 60 cm. This rare antique english partners desk was purchased from an antique store and is reportedly from the 1800′s. It is exceptionally well crafted and is as solid as they come. Similar desks in excellent condition go for upwards of $7.000– $10,000. This desk does have some wear/character(see pictures) but nothing major and structurally it’s in excellent shape. A wonderful desk with carving details where you would want them including the feet rope around the top of the case and a carved top edge. very very heavy- has been in storage for approx. 18 years must have been taken apart before moving into storage- 4 main pieces(2 ends with drawers. Wood top and custom 1/2 thick curved edges glass top) the center drawer and front cover piece for the center drawer are not connected- it seems all wood pieces and hardware(screws) are there but cannot guarantee. hand carved floral design drawer pulls has worn areas along bottom edges most likely from chairs/feet rubbing along bottom has scratches. Up for auction is a sweet 1880's period Partners Desk in Walnut. Flavor with carved medallions, corbels and burl veneer accents. Desk is 90% dry stripped and rest of finish can be removed steel toothbrush. Desk is missing top but can be replaced with plywood covered in leather top or I can have a friend make a galvanized metal top for it, as to give it that mixed architectural and industrial look. Here offered an antique partners desk. Purchased in England twenty+ years ago. Measures approx. 29" high x 60" across the top x 41" deep. With leather inlay on top(which was replaced circa 10 years ago) I have been told that the piece is circa 150-years old. At least, but I have no documentation to that effect. Has some wear and tear around bottom(please see all pix) befitting its age! About the item: Fine quality antique large 19th century oak partners desk. C1880.It is a great size and proportion and is a very decorative and functional piece of furniture. The desk is intricately carved in the Gothic/Green man style with lion masks and scrolling foliage etc. It stands on lovely bobbin turned supports,has 3 single and one double drawer and a leather top which is edged with nice scrolled carving.
