These vases date to circa the 1860s-1870s. These are large double-handled vases. The vases are beautifully hand-painted. Featuring a detailed scene of a peacock on a balcony. In the background of the scene is a peaceful river and trees. The scenes are mirrored, meaning this is a true pair and the peacocks will face one another when displayed side by side. The reverse of the vase is more simply painted, with blue flowers, realistically rendered. The vases have hand-gilded details, around the rim, base and handle, and thickly bordering the peacock scene. Above and below the scene are intricately hand-gilded patterns, scrolls above and Greek key-esque ... morepattern below. These are very impressive pieces, the photos really don't do them justice. This pair is in great overall condition. There is some wear to the paint of the handles. Especially the tips, but this is not very noticeable. There is some wear to the gilding around the base, predominantly at the corners. There are no chips, no cracks, and no repairs. Each vase is approximately 11 1/4 inches tall. Offered is this pair of Antique French Old Paris Spill Vases. The vases are each 4 5/8" high and are stamped on the bottom249/XXIII/19. Thee is remnants of old gold articulation and appear to be in great condition with no chips or cra cks. Note. There is a line in the glaze on the interior of one from the rim where it makes a"v" shape on the left. It appears to be in the glaze as it is not visible on the reverse side of the vase. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Vintage pair of glazed earthenware(terracotta) vases. The vases have been fired with a black glaze which provides the background color. A"foil" type substance has been applied to the vases in a decoupaged fashion. The decoupage is lovely flowers, leaves and vines which are all in a muted silver. There is some texture to the surface. The technique has been beautifully accomplished and the vases have a hand painted look.it is very hard to discern that they are not hand painted. The vases/urns have a gorgeous, French/Parisian Chinoiserie feel and flare. They are quite stunning. The vases are not new. They have the appearance of antique earthenware but I am not sure of their age so I have listed as vintage. They are in very good, vintage condition. There are some areas of aging to the exterior ... morefoil, but not much. There is one small area(quarter size) where the foil has peeled. This is near the top and could be completely covered with foliage or greenery. There are a couple of chips at the bottom of the vases, but these do not distract from the beauty of the pieces. They are glazed on the inside as well as the outside. The bottoms are not glazed. They have been used for floral display. There are some traces of a silicone substance on the rims which was used to keep the arrangements in place. This peels of easily. The vases/pots are heavy and nicely made. There are no marks. Here's an Extraordinary Pair Of 19th Century Antique Porcelain Vases Expertly Handpainted with Portraits of the Poets Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and William Cullen Bryant. The quality of the artwork on these is truly as good as it gets- they must have been done by the top decorators at whatever company produced them. Which leads me to say I don't know who made them; they have the look and feel of Old Paris Porcelain. But of course the subject matter would indicate an origin in England. Perhaps the porcelain blanks were painted by an English artist. There's some information to go on; the bases have some impressed numbers, and painted artist's initials. Antique Pair of old Paris porcelain garniture vases urns horse head handles
This unique pair of Old Paris porcelain vases or urns are hand painted and have horse handles. The urns are 10 5/8 inches tall. The urns date to circa 1860 and are French. The pieces have hand painted scenes of the water and scenery with the mountains in the background. One of the pieces is in good condition with only a chip to an ear on one of the horses. And a small chip to the other horses ear, and a chip on each side below the handles. The other piece has had a substantial amount of damage with breaks and chips. Although impressive at 17" high(diameters: 5 1/2" at the base and 6 1/2" at the mouth) The most eye-catching thing in these 19th century vases is their decoration: Clio, the muse of History, and Erato, the muse of erotic/love Poetry. These figures of the Greek mythology, done in grisaille, are recognizable by their attributes: the first holds a golden box supposedly full of ancient scrolls; the latter, a cithara, a musical instrument in the family of the lyre. Beautiful caladium plants and flowers and leaves of the passion vine, as well as other vines add a colorful whiff of madness to the scenes. The black ground makes the colors more vibrant, while gold rings at the base and the mouth of the vases put a touch of luxury on them. Both are drilled to be used as lamps, if preferred.

FEATURING A LOVELY PAIR OF CHRISTIAN FISCHER PORCELAIN VASES EARLY 19th CENTURY. Produced in Pirkenhammer Porcelain Factory in Bohemia which is now the Czech Republic. Christian Fischer became the proprietor in 1818 and used his initials as a mark. Both vases are marked CF with 737.1. As well as an incised oblong J. Gorgeous ornate detailing with beautifully applied cut flowers and hand painted leaf design. Much gold gilding still intact throughout, but of course some fading due to the age of the pieces. Two leaves, one petal, and one top edge have chips-as displayed in photos. Also, there are a few small dark spots on the upper backside of one vase which probably occurred during the firing process-very minor and so easily overlooked. This pair of old Paris Porcelain vases is spectacular. The pair dates back to the very early 1900's. Made in Paris France. The design is exquisite, as is the coloring. Each vase has beautiful gold trim accents with a solid white back, and the front done in shamrock green and white. There is also a floral design in the middle of each, in pink, yellow, blue, and purple, with green leaves. The backs of the inside of each has a lovely gold swirl design. On the bottom, they are marked number 110. The vases present in very good condition. Despite their great age, they almost look perfect. The only flaw to be found anywhere, is on the bottom of one vase. It obviously can not be seen(see photo 5) and is not anything to consider troublesome or serious. There is no indication of the defect anywhere but the underside. I also must stress, that aside ... morefrom this they really look perfect. The 2 pieces weigh about 2 pounds, and stand approximately 6 and a 1/4 in tall. At the widest part they are 6 in wide, and the top opening is 5 in wide. These matching small vases are very special. An extremely lovely. wonderful condition pair of Old Paris Porcelain figurine spill vases. Each figurine rests atop a double arched pedestal that is edged in gilt and profusely decorated with foliate gilt scroll work. Each figure also stands beside the stump of a tree that forms the vase to hold flowers. The stumps are variously colored in tan. Orange, and green colors. One figure is a gentleman and the other a lady garbed in early 18th century costume. The woman has brown hair, blue eyes, pink cheeks and red lips. She wears a brimmed bonnet atop her head that has an elegant blue plume. Her bodice is edged in gilt with a floral design also in gilt. The sides of her sleeves and hem of her tunic are edged in a blue tone and she holds a gilt fan in her hands. Her skirt is also profusely decorated in gilt floral patterns and the underskirt is ... morefurther embellished with deep violet flowers. The gentleman also has brown hair, blue eyes, pink cheeks and red lips. He sports a goatee and a brimmed hat with a brilliant orange plume. He wears a light colored blue neckerchief about the throat and a tunic and vest edged in violet and profusely decorated with gilt foliate scrolls. His knee-length britches are alternately striped in blue and gold. He wears white hose and orange pumps with blue buckles. He holds a gilt brush or pencil in his right hand and an oval slate or canvas in his right upon which he appears to begin drawing a portrait of his beloved. These are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. These is a minor aneling crack o the interior of the man's vase but this is not visible from the outside. This is a pair of antique Old Paris porcelain vases with paintings and Griffins. Unfortunately. They're damaged. I believe they date from the late 19th century. They each measure 13 1/4 inches tall(33.7 cm) Including the handles. They are each 10 inches wide(25.4 cm) The bases are 4 7/8 inches wide(12.4 cm) I couldn't resist these because they were so beautiful. They each have a great looking Paris painting on them. As to the damage. One has a cracked off Griffin wing, a crack in that Griffin's other wing, and the Griffin's head was glued on a little crooked(please see photos) There is no other damage to that vase. The other vase has a long. Thin crack going around the entire vase. WE HAVE REMOVED THE LAMP PARTS FROM THE TOP BUT HAVE LEFT THE WOOD BASES AS WE FEEL THEY PRESENT THE VASES VERY WELL AND ADD A DRAMATIC EFFECT. Deep blue cobalt colour. Decorated with a classical romantic scene. Fine gold decorations all around, also on the lids and the feet. Richly ornated with large bronze leaves borders. Pair of Large Paris Porcelain Vases, Victorian, Oak Leaves, Acorns, 1855-1875
I am pleased to offer for sale an exceptionally pretty pair of late Victorian Paris Porcelain Vases from the time period of about 1855-1875. They are executed in an easy-to-work-with and charming color-scheme that would add a nostalgic aura to many rooms. Whether period or later. These are nice large vases measuring 16.5 inches tall and 8 inches at the widest. They feature mixed floral bouquets typical of the period. With cabbage roses, hybiscus, and fuchsia amid lush foliage. The background color on the neck portion is a lovely lavender-pink and a French blue. Along the sides are handles composed of gilded Oak Leaves and Acorns. Which is always one of my favorite motifs. The body of both vases is in excellent condition with no breaks. Cracks, or evidence of repairs. The undulating top rim is in fine condition, as is the base. There is some ... moreloss to the tips of 3 of the oak leaves, but there is so much going on with the vases that this is not readily apparent, and it does not detract from the vases. There is significant wear to the gilding on the handles; there is however. Enough gilding present on the leaves and acorns that they are still accented nicely. The backs featured a simple gilded scroll pattern which is mostly gone. As these are generally placed against a mantel or a wall that really wouldnt be much of an issue. View our Page to learn a little more about us. Description A Fine Pair of Paris Porcelain Vases w. Oriental Decoration. C. 1860 This is an elegant pair of twin-handled. White, hard-paste, urn-shaped Paris porcelain vases on square plinths. The lips. Collars bases and plinths are all are finely banded with gilt and the lion-head handles have over-all gilding. Between the banding, fine gilded decoration of flowers, foliage, birds, dots and curvilinear framing has been applied to the backs, incised pedestals and square bases. The fronts of the vases have two well-painted pairs of figures in Oriental ... moredress. Situated in tropical gardens. The first vase depicts a courting couple seated beneath an arbour. Reading. The man's arm is around the woman's shoulder and he looks towards her. The other vase has a standing lady with a parasol being offered a treat on a small plate by a seated young man. The front paintings are finely detailed and rendered in a rich palette of yellows. Deep blues, pink, green, beige orange, red and brown. The vases are mounted to the bases with a threaded mount through the interior of the vase. The production of Paris porcelain in over 30 studios in the city of Paris took place from the late 1700s until around 1870. The quality of the painting is generally very good. But these are really exceptional. These vases would make wonderful accents in a formal room with Asian touches or a fine addition to a collection of Paris porcelain. PAIR PALACE SIZE SEVRES JARDINIERES / PLANTERS / CACHEPOT HUGE PARIS PORCELAIN
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a pair of palace size Sevres jardinieres or planters or cachepot. These were made between 1860-1880 and are marked with the Sevres crossed L's mark. Being 12" tall and 12" in diameter. They are impressive, important pieces. These would look great on a pair of tables, a pair of pedestals, or on the floor. If used on the floor with a large palm or other potted plant, they could be placed on a plant stand. The paintings on the pieces are of magnificent quality painted by very skilled artist. The front cartouches of the pieces depict classic Sevres courtship scenes with the people dressed in 18th century attire. The reverse of these large pieces feature bouquets of colorful flowers. It is hard to decide which side is prettier. So why not use both. The sides with flowers could be displayed in ... moreSpring and Summer while the sides with courting scenes could be displayed in Fall and Winter. The Sevres company was founded in 1738 with the support of Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour. And it became France's royal porcelain factory in 1759. Only the most wealthy people could afford to buy Sevres porcelain. These monumental pieces weigh 9 pounds each! The condition is as follows: One jardiniere does not have any structural damage or repairs. The other jardiniere has a crack on the back side that does not run through the painted flowers. It runs through the gilded section to the left of the painted flower cartouche. It was repaired in the early 1900's with 6 staples. Stapling of porcelain was an expensive repair that was only done on very expensive items or items of great sentimental value. There is no evidence that these ever had bronze mounts because the top and bottom edges are glazed. Gilded, and smooth. Please see photos.
