Distinguish Characteristics– This circa 1900s celadon vase which glaze is called bean celadon. Because its light green color likes lake water. The main area of vase is hand crafted dragon appearances lively and elegant. On its long narrow vase neck, three ribs add elegant presence. Underside of the vase engraved Qing Qianlong seal under the glaze. Celadon glazes can be produced in a variety of colors. Including white, grey, blue and yellow, depending on the thickness of the applied glaze and the type of clay to which it is applied. Generally. Southern China kilns invented and improved celadon technique during the Song dynasty. Longquan kilns especially had international fame. Large quantities of Longquan celadon was exported throughout East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East in 13th-15th century. Measurements– The vase measures approximately 9" tall. 4" between its widest points, 2¼" diameter opening at the top, 2 ½" diameter at the base. And with weight of 12 oz. Payment– Use credit card. Rare French Sarreguemines Art Nouveau Pottery Vase, Signed, Circa 1900-10
The town of Sarreguemines in France has been known as a center for the manufacture of ceramics since the late 18th century. Pieces with the Sarreguemines mark represent many different levels of quality. But occasionally a piece comes along that typifies the high level of excellence that French art pottery makers could achieve. This fine and very large vase, dating from 1900-1910 and with a beautiful tree and leaf Art Nouveau design, is the greatest piece of Sarreguemines that I have ever encountered. The vase measures 16 inches in height. 5 inches at its widest point across the body, 4 3/8 inches in diameter at the mouth, and 5 1/4 inches in diameter at its base. The vase is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or losses and only a few very tiny and unobtrusive scratches to its surface. The vase is fully signed with the Sarregumines ... moremark and others which I am not able to identify, perhaps referring to the specific artist, etc. see photo number 5) We are beginning this museum quality example of Sarreguemines art pottery with a low opening bid and with no reserve. We purchased this vase years ago. All i know is what's on the paper work that was given. It stated that this is a Victorian Ormolu Mounted Tapestry Case Circa 1900-1910. This vase is over 100 years old and in great condition. The scene is amazing. It goes all around the vase. The top and bottom is some type of metal. The vase is quite heavy. It stands about 10 3/4" tall. the base is about 3" square. The opening is about 7/8" wide. I can't see any damage but please remember this is a used piece over 100 years old. This belonged to my great grandmother and then my grandmother they always planted African violets in it and it looked beautiful! I on the other hand don't grow African violets well! So here it is for sale. The maker mark on the bottom of the front part of the shoe is worn off I think probably from washing it. I've been able to enjoy this beautiful vase for years. But I'm changing my library to make room for expansion of my book collection.so must make room and putting this up for sale. The mark shows that this piece was made between 1891-1911. It is just lovely.roses of pink and maroon on a field of green. The neck of the vase has a very cool stripe pattern that makes the piece feel somewhat modern. The vase has a raised paint in certain areas that I have tried to highlight in the photos. On the flowers. It gives the sense of a morning dew. Dimensions: 12-1/2" tall 6-1/2" diameter 4" diameter base The piece doesn't show any cracks or crazing.
