vintage Porcelain Vase Royal Bonn Germany Beautiful Floral Design Hand Painted
I am not an antique dealer. I am not well informed about the old vase, I will show all marks, to help you identify the piece. There are no chips, or cracks, no dings, there is some light crazing, but you(I) have to hold the vase up close to see it. The bottom is marked"Royal Bonn Germany" with what looks to me to be the initials FM or TM and the numbers 1731. There are other marks inscribed on the bottom, it looks like before the vase was fired. The floral design looks hand painted to me. One side has gold leaf around the edges of the design. The piece stands 14 1/2" tall, and is 7" wide at the widest point. I have no idea of the value. I guarantee item to be as described or your money back, including postage both ways.

Beautiful Antique Royal Bonn Germany Gondola Centerpiece Bowl measuring 17 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches.tall and 6 1/2 inches deep. This bowl is hand painted and remains brightly colored in cobalt blue and dusty greens. The cupid cherubim dance fancifully in the garden on one side and on the other side the cupids fly. Their musical instruments are pictured on the"corners" of the bowl. This is in fabulous condition for age. I believe this to be from the latter part of the 19th century. With one expert placing it ca. 1970. There is slight wear to the gilt trim and one chip at top side, as shown in picture#9. Any other white marks in pictures are reflected light. The diameter of the base is 2 and 1/8" There is some loss of gilding at the edge of the mouth of vase. Some crazing on surface. But no cracks. The gilding at the base is intact. The vase may need some cleaning. But I have left it alone. Also, there is a very small object inside that I can hear and tried to remove but the mouth of the vase is so narrow I wasn't able to get it. Perseverance will do it, though.

Base has the Royal Bonn/Franz Anton Mehlem mark in use 1890-1920. Bold hand painted polychrome floral motifs. The neck has two handles with gold gilt. The top portion is a rich deep purple with a beautiful Art Nouveau gold design. CONDITION: Antique item. I see one scratch(about 1" in the area beneath the widest part of the belly where the vase slops in toward the base. With the vase standing up. You don't notice it(see photo) Faint crazing visible with a 25x loupe. One dot in ground as shown in photo. Otherwise, wear is minimal. Presents beautifully. Cylindrical shaped vase with a flared mouth- decorated with brightly colored flowers in shades of pinks, purples, and rusts- shaded green leaves and branches- all outlined with raised GOLD enamel giving the piece a"Cloisonne" effect. Additional gold daubs applied randomly and around the base and the mouth add an additional elegance to the piece. Beautiful. Large, Royal Bonn vase. Floral decoration with silver and green embellishments. Stands 14 1/2 inches high and is 24 inches in diameter around the widest part. Shows it's age but has no chips, cracks and very little crazing. It is absolutely gorgeous and the pictures certainly don't do it any justice. Royal Bonn is the nineteenth-and twentieth-century trade name used by Franz Anton Mehlem. Who had a pottery in Bonn, Germany, from 1836 to 1931. Porcelain and earthenware were made. Royal Bonn used a monogram-and-tower mark that appeared on exported pottery only with Germany added. The factory was purchased by Villeroy& Boch in 1921 and closed in 1931. Many marks were used. Most including the name Bonn. The initials FM. And a crown.

I just purchased this antique Franz Anton Mehlem vase from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The base bears the mark utilized by Steingut-Fabrik und Kunsttöpferei F.A. Mehlem. Inh. F. Guilleaume from 1890 until 1920(the company was previously Steingutfabrik Franz Anton Mehlem, and sold to Villeroy& Boch in 1920) The base also bears the décor design"L.XVI" Louis XVI as part of the mark. The vase is a lovely example of the Blue and White Rococo inspired transfer designs produced by the Bonn-Poppelsdorf, Germany factory during the 1890's. The piece is decorated with two cartouches each featuring a courtier couple in a pastoral setting. The transfer decoration shows rich cobalt blue color and fine detail throughout. Bottom shows: Royal Bonn mark/stamp, incised form number 1430, a circled D and letters AO. Measures about 7" tall x 6" in diameter. It's in very good vintage condition, no chips or cracks.
