Antique pair of German porcelain vases. They are 8 1/2" tall. 14" around. They are hand painted, and have hand applied pale pink roses and green leaves with brown branches. There are some chips to the rose petals, and leaves. One vase has a piece 3/4" sliver chipped off one of the blue bordered overlap pieces. This vase has two firing lines, that do not go through to the other side on two of the blue bordered overlay pieces. See pictures. Offering an Exquisite 19th Century pair of vases. Hand painted and signed by the well listed and celebrated Artist Josef Ahne(1830-1909) Ahne, a German/Bohemian artist specialized in figural decoration based on oil paintings done by Italian and German artists. He was recognized for his work at the world exposition in Vienna in 1873 and won a bronze medal in Paris, 1878. These vases measure 14 1/4 inches in height and 6 1/2 inches in width at middle widest. ANTIQUE PAIR OF GERMAN PORCELAIN CHERUB VASES#1224 Charming pair of antique German porcelain footed cherub vases. Each vase measures approximately 7 7/8" high by 4 1/2" at its widest and 3 1/2" deep. Overall condition is fair. One cherub has a broken wing and a chip to the ribbon around the vase. The other has a crack in the vase. But examined under magnification it looks like this occured during manufacture. That vase also has some glue residue but we did not observe any spots of repair. Both vases have rubbing to the gilding along the top and bottom edges. Stamped on the bottom of both with a hallmark that appears to be a hummingbird in a shield. Both are number 1224 and 35. Antique Victorian German Bisque Circus Clowns Spill Vases c1880's, gm837
Offered for the discerning collector is this fabulous antique set of Victorian German bisque porcelain spill vases or match safes. A spill holder or a"Spill" is a vase or holder used to hold spills which are slivers of wood. A twist of paper or a spiral of wood shaving used to light a fire or a wall light during the 1700 and 1800's. Matches were few and far between and were expensive. They would have these on the mantel or on a table close to the wall lamps for easy access to light the fires. These are marked"Germany" and each has a model number. These were made in the late 1800's. They are very colorful and features the French clown Pierrot. Dressed in a loose fitting white blouse with large buttons and wide pantaloons with a frilled collaret and a skull cap. He is known as the"Sad Clown" as he pines ... morefor the love of Columbine who breaks his heart and leaves him for Harlequin. The other spill vase features Columbine. Which means"little dove" She is the wife of Pierrot but leaves him for Harlequin. She wears a frilled collaret and a pretty little fitted dress with a pleated skirt and gold shoes. These measure 4.75 inches long. 2 inches wide and stands about 4.5 inches tall. I found these in Belgium. It was great to find the pair together after all of these years! Pierrot is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks! Columbine is also in excellent condition with no chips. I do see what may be a manufactures flaw on the inside back of one of the openings. It is a line which I have taken a photo. The piece is very sturdy and I saw the line with a magnifying glass so is not a problem for a piece this old. Pair of Antique Victorian Vases with Cupid Tempting the Virgins German
This charming pair of Antique Cabinet Top Vases were probably made in Germany during the last half of the 1800's. The Victorian Era. The scenes pictured on the vase were used often by the German Manufacturers during that time period. They show Cupid toying with the Beautiful Young Virgins. The background is a rich Cobalt Blue with a Pink Scallop Shell Motif at the top rim. They have double handles and a 4 footed base. The pair measure approximately 7 1/4" Tall, 4" wide and 2 1/4" deep. There is some damage done to the back rim. Please see the pictures for this. There is some crazing in the transfer area, but otherwise the pair is in very good condition for it's age. They measure almost 4 inches tall and about 4.5 inches wide. You can use these for other things instead of vases. They would be really special on your desk to hold all the little objects you use every day or use one as a vase and the other as an item holder! PR Gorgeous Antique Sitzendorf German Porcelain Pink Floral Large FINE VASES
~ HAVE A FABULOUS DAY~ These are very fine vases and are marked with the Sitzendorf porcelain German mark and numbered. They stand 11" tall the tops are 4 1/4" across and at the widest point they are 22" around and 4 1/4" across the base. These date around 887-1900 and are in amazing shape for their age gold trim is nice and chips or cracks but a few firing flaws on the flowers can see them in the close-up picutres and great form. Look at those flower just a beautiful pair hard to find a pair in this condition.The last picture is so you can see the size compared to a regular 16 ounce veggie can.Super size them pictures as they too are part of the description.
