vintage Porcelain Vase Royal Bonn Germany Beautiful Floral Design Hand Painted
I am not an antique dealer. I am not well informed about the old vase, I will show all marks, to help you identify the piece. There are no chips, or cracks, no dings, there is some light crazing, but you(I) have to hold the vase up close to see it. The bottom is marked"Royal Bonn Germany" with what looks to me to be the initials FM or TM and the numbers 1731. There are other marks inscribed on the bottom, it looks like before the vase was fired. The floral design looks hand painted to me. One side has gold leaf around the edges of the design. The piece stands 14 1/2" tall, and is 7" wide at the widest point. I have no idea of the value. I guarantee item to be as described or your money back, including postage both ways.

This auction is for a Simply Superb Bud Vase made by Franz Anton Mehlem Royal Bonn of Germany and Beautifully hand painted with an Owl perched on a moss covered tree with a rising moon in the background and branches. Clouds and a luna moth on the other side. It is a True Work of Art with great brushstrokes and different art styles from brown-toned copper and bronze applied with a sponge to a pattern of small dots in light green for leaves and lines that make the Owl's eyes really pop. The vase has two handles and an impressed mark of Franz Anton Mehlem of Bonn Germany. There is also an identification number hand written on the bottom. I believe it says 196 2- It doesn't reflect the year it was made as this piece dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The piece is in very good condition especially for its age. The opening diameter is approximately 1" Excellent overall condition- no chips or cracks. Gilt design work on opposite side of the musketeers is mostly worn off. There is one small fleck of paint which became detached and is being held in place by a piece of tape- see last photo. Signed on the underside with the Franz Anton Mehlem Royal Bonn 1755 mark that dates these vases between 1890 and 1920.

Here we have for sale a Rare& Beautiful Victorian Umbrella Stand. We purchased this piece as being Royal Bonn. It has the same look to the elaborate raised molding and the fine hand painting. But due to its size and intricacy the impressed mark did not show up on the bottom. We are attributing it to Royal Bonn. But we cannot say for sure without a clear mark. The raised molding goes completely around the top edge and down onto the main body of the piece framing the hand painted floral paintings. Each side has enameled Iris flowers in brilliant detail. The background is a molting of pastels in light pinks and lavender. The stand is 20" tall. It is 10" wide at the top edge. The stand is 8" at the bottom by 12" at the most bulbous part of the bottom. The piece has no chips. Cracks nor restoration to the sides of the body. ... moreOn the bottom there is some spider crazing that is very hard to see. This is fairly common with a stand this large. Many did not survive even being fired in the kiln due to their Jumbo size. Overall the painting and finish on this stand is near mint. The fine detail of this piece is truly Victorian. Every side is decorated with raised molding and lovely shaded colors. There is some Gold Trim Paint on the edges that has got wear to the gold. But it is not noticed we mention for accuracy. The color combination(pink and then the blue stripe) is unique. 9 inches tall and about 2 inches across base My knowledge of vases is very limited so please ask any questions. There is crazing on the vase and there are places where there are white marks which I assume to be a loss of paint due to wear vs. flaw in casting. Beautiful Royal Bonn of Germany hand painted bottle vase. Gold trimmed top. Clearly stamped with Royal Stamp and Seal on bottom of Vase. Embedded number. As well as hand numbered on bottom of Vase. The Vase is vibrantly colored with varying shades of green background. The delicately colored flowers are shades of cream and purple. Vase stands approximately 81/2" tall. Tapering down from a width of 3" to a 2" stamped and numbered bottom. There are NO visible flaws or signs of damage.

The opening at top is 4" Bottom is 4 1/2" square, circumference at widest top section is 19 1/2" Round portion of vase has crazing inside and outside. Mrs. Thomas Graham née Mary Cathcart(1757-1792) or that of her husband, the Scottish aristocrat, the Hon. Thomas Graham, later to become 1 st Baron Lynedoch(1748–1843) Mary Graham was the daughter of the Baron. Charles, 9 th Lord Cathcart. A clever politician and ambassador to the court of Catherine the Great. Growing up in Russia and being exposed to the splendor and sophistication of the Imperial Court at St. Petersburg, Mary was reputed to be a witty and delightful woman with an alluring appeal. In addition, if her later portraits are to be taken as true-to-life, she was incredibly beautiful, so that upon her return to England she ... morewas the toast of Georgian society and ardently pursued by many suitors. She ultimately married Thomas Graham, and it is said that theirs was a great love match. Unfortunately, their story had a tragic ending as Mary contracted tuberculosis and died at just 35 years of age, after only 18 years of marriage. Thomas spent the rest of his long life in sorrow grieving for her, and he never remarried. There are numerous websites that contain additional personal stories and biographical information on this interesting 18 th century couple. Pair of antique hand painted Royal Bonn Vases from Germany circa 1900. Each vase is of the same mold and the same size. The base of each is well marked with the Royal Bonn mark. Piece numbers and artists including incised marks. The gorgeous soft floral designs and raised gold relief moriage differs. Ornate gold trim and handles. Originally urns but now vases as there are no lids. These are beautiful mantle pieces. No cracks or chips. Nice condition with slight ageing. The gold on the top of one handle is thin. Each measures 9 1/4" 23cm) in height.
