This tall vase standing over 14" high is a tour de force of stylish themes of the late 19th century. From the Grecian like handles to the Egypto ribbed neck and mouth of the vessel to the subtle pinkish coloration over the cream colored neck to the vivid green background of the floral lithographic transfer print this vase has it all. Outstanding and significant piece the only mark on this is a large inscribed K that goes through the glaze on the base. It however looks very much like pieces by the Robert Hanke pottery but it is unmarked so it is hard to know for sure unless you find an identical piece marked(and yes that DOES happen. This is sort of a pre art nouveau piece with classical revival elements. It is in outstanding condition with no damage to report or repairs of any kind. Thanks for looking and good luck! It has extensive raised gilt ribbon and floral decoration with the dark red printed mark an the bottom. The vase is 8 inches tall.

This is a very rare and elegant vase with a very beautiful hand painted portrait of a beautiful lady. Maybe an Austrian Princess. The vase is uniquely designed with wings on both side, similar to that of a dragon or bat. It measures 10 inches high and 5.5 inches wide. It is in good condition with some repairable problem such as 2 tiny chips on the tip of both of the back wings and another tiny chip at the tip of the right front wing. Up for bid is a lovely vase that I believe to be made of porcelain. The maker was Carlsbad in Austria. The person I originally bought the vase from told me it dates from the 1880s or 1890s. The vase stands 9.5" tall& 5.5" across at the widest part of the"handles. Blue flowers edged in gold decorate both the front& the back but the florals are not identical; as you can see if you look at the 2nd& 3rd photos. The flowers on the front are fuller& more numerous. The background is ivory which becomes a faint purple toward the top. The top& bottom are decorated with a raised yellow design that has a crinkly or wavy texture. The"waves" are tipped in gold paint. The"handles" are painted entirely gold. The mouth is ridged& curves inward(that green thing inside is tissue paper) The bottom is ... morestamped with the picture of a crown, the numbers 2823 58& the words"Carlsbad" Made in Austria. Very beautiful. Antique- Robert Hanke- Pre-1940- Austrian made- Vase. The vase has double gold trimmed handles, beautiful red, pink and gold flowers with green leaves. The top of the vase appears as an open petal- in gold. The base of the vase is trimmed in gold with green and yellow flowers. The back of the vase has a bud with green leaves and gold stems. The vase stands approximately one foot at the tallest point is about 7 inches wide at the widest point. The base is approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Very good condition- no chips or cracks can be seen. This item was transported by relatives from Austria/Germany prior to WWII. This is a beautiful vase crafted by the Victoria Schmidt& Co factories. Located in Austria, sometime between 1891 and 1918. The maker's mark identifies it as belonging to this time period. Victoria Schmidt& Co was founded in 1883. At 5 3/4 inches tall. This vase features three handles and a design of cherubs, or putti, on three sides. Beautiful gold leaf floral and scroll patterns also adorn it. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some wear to the gold leaf pattern. The sides are decorated with transfer poppy flowers with gilt accents. This measures approx. 9 1/4" x 3 1/2" and the mouth is 2 1/4" across. The base and the bottom and top of the body are decorated with some detailed relief scrollwork to add another dimension of interest. The handles are highly stylized and in great shape. This beautiful vase has a stippled exterior glazing with a hand painted design. Marked and numbered on the Bottom of both is“Casmir” with an impressed and painted mark. They have a floral Islamic motif in banded striations with multiple colors and a background of gold with two gold painted handles. Austrian Amphoria- Josef Strnact Turn-Teplitz Royal Teplitz Aurora Vase. The vase measures 16 inches high by 9 inches wide and dates or early 1900s. It is signed on the bottom Royal Teplitz- Aurora- J S and the number 4246. The mandate of the Imperial Technical School for Ceramics and Associated Applied Arts in Turn Teplitz was" turn live examples from nature(exact and stylized) into clay. That is exactly what Josef Strnact did when he created this magnificent vase. The vase is of fine porcelain in a basket weave motif favored by Strnact. Draped across the front of the basket weave is a branch of ripe pears in bas relief. Almost three dimensional. They are glazed in perfect colors. You can imagine Strnact's inspiration. perhaps an early autumn picnic. a branch of ripe pears falling out of the picnic basket. the golden late-afternoon ... moresun trimming the branches with its light. He couldn't wait to get back to his studio and replicate in clay what he saw in nature. The vase is impessed with the mark Joseph Strnach used between 1900 and 1933. Which was his initials and a"flower" on a shield. Strnach's mark, combined with a stamped mark, which, in this case, is"Royal Teplitz Aurora, dates the vase c. 1918. It is also embossed with number 4746. It has a small crack in the back and is missing one piece of fruit which can been seen in the photos. Please see all my other art.
