The basket also features five hand-painted floral cartouches with bright pink and purple flowers and green leaves. The cartouches. Base, and sides are beaded and the bottom is marked with three characters. The basket stands approximately 8 3/4" tall. And it is one of the most beautiful designs I have seen in these flat baskets. Item Condition: The overall condition of the basket is excellent. It is extremely clean inside and out and there are no chips. Cracks, or repaired areas. The paint is vivid and bright and I see some paint loss to the beading on the sides and base rim and around the open portion of the handle, but none to the hand-painted floral feature designs or main body elements. Antique pair of parian hand vases. They stand 7 1/2" tall. 3 1/2" diameter across the bottom. Each hand is holding a hand painted spray of blue flowers with green leaves. The flowers are shiny like enamel with yellow centers. No missing paint. The hands have lace cuffs, and two rings on the fingers of each hand. One vase has a chip on the back large leaf point. The other vase has two chips, one on the back leaf edge and on the side back leaf edge. The chips are on the back of the vases. They are sliver chips from the inside. See pictures. I have for auction a wonderful old pair of ceramic vases featuring metal bases; each has a number; origin unknown. Came from an estate. The tall one measures approx. 240 mm tall and has an impressed number 2298 on the ceramic portion; the other one measures approx. 170 mm tall and approx. 170 mm in width; it bears a partial number which ends in?77. They both have a repair(see photos) and the tall one also has a surface chip to the blue side frill. These old vases were found in an estate; no other information as regards the origin. Hand painted and hand enameled, signed by the well listed and celebrated Artist Josef Ahne(1830-1909) Ahne, a German/Bohemian artist specialized in figural decoration based on oil paintings done by Italian and German artists. I had many experts try to find this mark and no success. Most guessed European. I leaned towards Austrian Carlsbad or English Worcester or old Villeroy. This pair is one of a kind, rare, with the distinctive raised figural bark/moss/mushroom effect on the sides. The panels in between have exquisite hand painted flowers on a cream matte finish. In great condition for their age and size, I found a small hairline crack on the bottom of one(picture 11) a factory flaw/mark line at the mouth of the other, and a few of the more raised bark bumps have rub marks. Measure 13 1/2" tall. These will have to be shipped in 2 seperate boxes, double boxed. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. Additionally I pack and wrap things very well to insure safe arrival. This is for a pair of Old Paris Empire porcelain spill vases. These are small for spill vases but certainly could be as such things sat on mantels in the 19th century and earlier before matches were made. The spill vases may need some explanation. They were small tubular vases that sat on mantles and held small wooden splints or paper cones all called ... morespills. They were used to light candles and lamps and the spill would be lit at the fireplace. Often there was another receptacle to hold the used spill and of course could be thrown in the fireplace too. They could of course be used as small bud vases. These Empire style pieces have a Napoleonic flair with the disc pedestal and the lions paw feet. The details of the two ribs near the top and at the bottom and in addition the gently flaring lip are all those used during this period in the French decorative arts. The hand painting is lovely and handled in a very free manner but not loose either. These are exceptional pieces in outstanding physical condition with all the earmarks of one of the better Old Paris makers. These are unmarked except for a couple of glazers marks a C and an M. Beautiful Matched Pair Of Antique Hand Painted Rosenthal Vases, Circa 1898-1900
You are bidding on a stunningly beautiful rare matched pair of antique hand painted porcelain vases by Rosenthal. The vases feature the crown and crossed swords R C mark. R.C. is Rosenthal& Co. Phillip Rosenthal opened his first factory in 1891 and the first world exposition of his products was in 1900. Since then. Until today, Rosenthal has been a renowned name for quality porcelain. This mark was used between 1898 and 1906. They are in very good condition considering that they are in the neighborhood of 120 years old. Each vase is decorated in a floral design against a cream colored background. The upper portions of the vases is done are a deep cobalt blue. The handles and color borders are trimmed in gold. The vases each measure 10.5 inches tall and are 4.5 inches in diameter at the widest point. The base diameter is 3 inches and the ... moretop opening diameter is 2.5 inches. The only defects that I could find are some hairline cracks in the glaze on the bottom of one vase, and some wear to the gold gilt decoration on the handles where they meet the body of the vases. You are looking at a 2 antique vases. The come from the grandmother of my 70 year old friend. Do not have any more info on them. I am not an expert; my descriptions are from my own research. If not correct feel free to tell me. They are tulip vases. They are porcelain. With soft paste. light shines through and they have a ring to them) They are hand painted. Pale yellow with terracotta accent colour. The trim on rim and handle is gold. They are 5 3/4" tall. The embossed markings on the bottom are possibly 2 numbers and 2 symbols. I can not determine the exact meaning. They could be 4 numbers. 3149. There is also another make on the opposite side from the numbers. It appears to be a"9" or a"y" see pics) Condition: good for old pieces Gold has come off in places(see pics) One has a hair line crack on the top above one ... moreof the holes. see pics) The other one has a hair line crack 7/8" on top beside handle. see pics) The over all finish has flaws that have been glazed over(soft paste finish? Up for auction is this pr. of antique very old hand painted Dutch faience bulb vases. They are blue and white with gold accents. Four scenes around the perimeter. Each scene different, with boughs on each corner. They have a footed base. Two feet on one of them has been repaired(old Repair) but is still chipped. Same one has some minor chips on upper edge. The other is in pretty good condition considering the age. It does has some chips on the feet. Even with the condition issues they are a beautiful example of early Dutch porcelain. They measure 4" tall. 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" square.

2 Old Paris vases made between(1700-1830) I don't know much about their history or what facility made them. I looked but don't know how to find specifics for them. My Grandma bought them in the 80's as an investment. I inherited them in 2000. The only marks are the number 210 on both vases and on vase 1 a backwards z Vase 2 has an open symbol maybe O. Or maybe D, I hear that the market for these is more on the east coast. And with interior decorators. I will add closer detailed photos of the intricate patterns painted on them.
