Very rare small german royal schwarxburg hand painted portrait vase
This is the finest piece I owned but all of my collectibles are being sold since I lost my house. This vase is only about 3 1/2" tall which to me made the painting even more extroindary. The picture I have taken of the back does not do it justice it is much prettier in petson. The vase is flawless no chips or cracks.

Can't make out the whole title which was painted just below the portrait of this lovely lady. The separate cameos highlight different floral bouquets- all finely done. There is some paint wear as you can see in the detailed photos but no cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. There are a couple of dark marks typical of production of the time- the largest- pic# 11. 9 3/8" tall, approx. 5 1/2" at it's widest point with a squarish vase of 3 3/8" x 3 3/4" Just a wonderful 19th century piece from an old New England estate. BACKGROUND: Important one-of-a-kind museum quality signed vase of historical significance. Quite possibly a special commission order by the descendant family of either the portrait's sitter, the Hon. Mrs. Thomas Graham née Mary Cathcart(1757-1792) or that of her husband, the Scottish aristocrat, the Hon. Thomas Graham, later to become 1 st Baron Lynedoch(1748–1843) Mary Graham was the daughter of the Baron. Charles, 9 th Lord Cathcart. A clever politician and ambassador to the court of Catherine the Great. Growing up in Russia and being exposed to the splendor and sophistication of the Imperial Court at St. Petersburg, Mary was reputed to be a witty and delightful woman with an alluring appeal. In addition, if her later portraits are to be taken as true-to-life, she was incredibly beautiful, so that upon her return to England she ... morewas the toast of Georgian society and ardently pursued by many suitors. She ultimately married Thomas Graham, and it is said that theirs was a great love match. Unfortunately, their story had a tragic ending as Mary contracted tuberculosis and died at just 35 years of age, after only 18 years of marriage. Thomas spent the rest of his long life in sorrow grieving for her, and he never remarried. There are numerous websites that contain additional personal stories and biographical information on this interesting 18 th century couple. Mary was so beautiful that she captivated the great portrait and landscape artist. Thomas Gainsborough and he painted her several times in different poses. The painting from which the portrait on this vase took its inspiration, was done c. 1775 and it now hangs in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. This auction is for a Beautiful and Unique Victorian Portrait Vase with a eye-catching hand-painted portrait of a lovely young woman. The piece is Classic Victorian in every way and a Simply GREAT FIND. The vase is a clean-line cylindrical shape and made in heavy porcelain. It has decorative raised buttons and a neat repeating painted pattern on the top and bottom. The outside of the vase is painted a flat cobalt blue; the inside a bright glossy white glaze. The vase has a oval framed image of a Flirtatious Victorian woman with a ring of flowers in her curly light brown hair. The portrait is very well done. With her eyes cast downward and to the side. She is wearing a pink dress with a large blue bow. You can't help but keep on looking at her soft peaceful features. The vase is in very good condition. Classical shape Vase is signed by the talented porcelain Artist. This Spectacular Vase is skilfully painted with a beautiful portrait of an eighteen century Lady with a rose in her hand. Hand painted roses and flowers front to back with gilded designs, gorgeous decorative handles. The Vase measures impressive 22.5" tall. Welcome to thegroup453 ~ We are offering an antique hand painted vase. mfg. by Ernst Wahliss.Turn,Teplitz,Bohemia 1890's. The painting is a portrait of a peasant girl with a bundle of wheat and a sickle in her hand.It measures 7" high and is in excellent condition.No chips or cracks. There are a couple of white pin point side marks on the side no harm to the vase.White streaks and spots are just overhead light reflection as there is a very high glaze on the vase. Outstanding Royal Bonn Germany Hand painted Vase. This stunning beauty measures 13 1/4" high x10" wide x 6" diameter of base. It is so exquisitely decorated with heavy gold surrounding a portrait of a lovely young Lady. It is in very good condition. Minimal crazing in the gold. There are a host of markings on the bottom of the vase. This will be packed well. Shipped priority and insured.

This exquisite two-handled porcelain portrait vase/ jug made in vienna austria. this piece is absolutely stunning. this magnificent piece measures approximately 10 1/2" tall, 9" wide from handle-to-handle, and 21" in circumference at its widest point. this has incredible, ornate detailing from the top to the bottom. we're not sure on the age of this piece, but it has incredible crazing on the bottom by the maker's mark. there is some paint loss on the cold-painted gold gilding and a couple of the points are broken above the jesters on the handles(see pics) this is an amazing piece and will look absolutely beautiful anywhere you decide to display it. we're not familiar with these items, so please pay close attention to the pics for a better. ... moreDetailed description. we do our best to describe our items and we're always happy to answer questions. please check our feedback. This stunning vase is a hand painted portrait of a child. Along with very small blue flowers. Standing an impressive 11.25" tall, the vase is in amazing condition with no chips or cracks. It has a gold painted rim. Singed"Laffoon" on the side of the vase. The pictures don't do this piece justice!
