This auction is for an old porcelain vase in the Art Nouveau style. It has marks on the bottom which are incomplete. The style. However, suggests, it is European in origin, possibly Austrian. The vase has fancy shapes to the porcelain and a decoration of poppies and other flowers. Much of the decoration is transfer, but gold has been added by hand. The vase is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. There is some loss to the gold trim, particularly around the rim. The vase stands 4 1/4 inches high. Payment accepted with Paypal. Semi-porcelain china has a feel very much like ironstone. The red poppies are supported by the classic nouveau era tendril shape of each stem. The first four photos are of the four sides. Stamped with factory mark and numbered 6298/1. Research showed me that this stamp was from prior 1949 and the Western-Germany gilt stamp was added later. This is a really super ceramic vase made by Dux Porcelain Manufacture(D P M) This is a wonderful example of Jugendstil decoration. From the flared body, to the scooped and flared handles, and finally to the dropped pendant decoration. GREAT STUFF! This great piece is 6” to the top of the handles, is approx. 6 ¾” at its widest, and is marked, as shown, on the bottom. There are some stray specs of wayward paint. And there are some airpops and small distortions in the glaze, mostly near the bottom rim. There is a slight amount of crazing. Leonard of New York made by the Count Thun porcelain factory in Austria. This beautiful example of porcelain features an Art Nouveau stylized fully detailed Parrot resting upon a glorious vining wild rose bush. Just stunning and quite a statement piece at 12" tall with a gold gilded rim. It's marked"VIENNA AUSTRIA" with a m ark that was used by US Importer PH Leonard from 1890 to 1908 on blanks from the Count Thun factory in Klasterec. Czech Republic. Ohio, circa 1884-85 Historical Background: Artist and renowned world traveler John Charles Arter was a descendent of a famous American history painter by the name of Benjamin West(b.1738-d.1820) John Charles Arter. The son of farmers Jefferson and Sarah Arter, was born in Hanoverton, Ohio, Columbiana County. Despite a father’s determination to have his son follow in his footsteps. The young Arter left home at the tender age of seventeen to pursue a career as a painter. Arter initially travelled to Chicago where he refused a wealthy uncle's offer of accommodation, and with his mind set on independence, John Charles soon made his way to Cincinnati where despite his ... morelack of formal training he began painting color floral arrangements which brought him private students and patrons. It has a hand painted landscape scene that travels all around the vase. The surface of the vase is a soft matte satin. It is then accented with very heavy gold outlined enameled Art Nouveau Iris florals in a deep gloss enamel of burgandy/ bronze. The double-handled vase measures 5.5” High x 2.25” Wide x 1.5” Deep. The lower back shows a makers stamp‘KLEINER’ The bottom of the piece has a hand signature saying‘Ena’ with a sideways‘S’ flourish and what looks to have been a‘G’ or‘6’ below that, but it is nearly worn off from time. Antique Carl Knoll Art Nouveau Porcelain Vase w/Pansies & Heavy Gold - Austria
Up for auction is a beautiful Carl Knoll art nouveau hand painted vase. It is decorated with white pansies with purple throats and a gold art nouveau design at the top rim and bottom front of the vase. The top rim is swirled ribbon with open holes. The bottom has an open fan of small flowers with upward ribbon type swirls. The gold shows some wear but not enough to hurt. The porcelain is in excellent condition as there are no chips. Museum quality Sevres Porcelain Vase in the Art Nouveau Style with an ornate Bronze Base by the L. Henry Foundry of Paris. The vase is signed"E. Roy"who was the artist for the Sevres Art Nouveau style. It depicts an elaborately bejeweled woman dressed in a long gown and gazing into a looking glass. Behind her is draped a purple burgundy robe. Antique Orig Art Nouveau Bisque Porcelain Vase Cameo Ladies Ornate Handles
I still attend many Auctions and Estate Sales for my eBay purchases and it has been a long time since I saw an authentic original Art Nouveau Vase such as this one. Really gorgeous. Pale blue ground. Makes the raised Cameo Figure on the front"pop" The raised figure on the back, is the same colour as the vase itself. The figure in front, wears a large flowing diaphanous dress. that leaves very little to the imagination! Part of the material she pulls up, to go over her hair. The figure on the back of the Vase is also very scantily clad and she holds up a torch, very reminiscent of the"Statue of Liberty" Very ornate handles. They have some wear to the brown areas where the blue ground shows through. However, I noted no major issues. Just the wear that one can expect from a piece such as this with this age to it. Langenthal Swiss Porcelain Large Art Nouveau/Jugendstil/Deco 1927 Red/Gold Vase
Very large and dramatic porcelain vase made by the Porzellanfabrik Langenthal AG. Langenthal, Switzerland in 1927. This stunning vase stands 10 inches(25.5 cm) tall and is about 24 inches(61 cm) around at its widest point. It weighs 3 pounds. The vase is lavishly decorated with stylized gold leaves and branches together with black vines outlined in blue and green. The gold leaves also contain green touches. The top rim is gold which shows considerable wear. This vase is a remarkable and quite beautiful work of art. Which deserves a place in a museum as an example of the late 1920's work of the Porzellanfabrik Langenthal. I will ship for a flat $15 in the USA and for a flat $55 outside of the USA.

Antique Amphora porcelain figural vase Art Nouveau putti with cherries
A beautiful antique Art Nouveau Amphora porcelain vase with putti and cherries. It stands 10 1/2" high and is in amazing condition considering is fragile nature. There is a pinky missing to the figure's left hand and a very small niche through the glaze at the back. The glaze is a green with subtle gold irridescence. The vase form is very natural and flowing with a sort of Jack-in-the-Pulpit opening. Note the cut out at the base. The figure is very graceful and the cherry stems and blossom are simply amazing. From a recent and wonderful old estate collection. It shows no maker's mark but certainly from the Teplitz area in Bohemia.

Here we have a beautiful Victorian Art Nouveau figural vase depicting a fashionable woman and two spotted tigers. This is one of a matching pair we are selling. The other has the woman on the right and the tigers facing left. The vase measures 16 inches tall and is about 8 inches wide at it's widest point. This skillfully created piece is unmarked but probably of German manufacture, perhaps Huebach or Hertwig. It is in excellent condition with bright colors and no cracks, chips or crazing. On this one there is one part of a finger missing, not noticeable(see last photo) The pair would look fantastic on a side table or mantlepiece.
