They are missing one of the brass cylinders which makes them a little harder to close. Also the leather covering is damaged - it is split on one side and has clear scotch tape on the other side. The brass shows age and wear but this all serves to give these a really nice antique look. On the end eye pieces, ... morestamped into the mother of pearl is the name: LEMAIRE FABI(looks like an I, but not sure, maybe a 1) and also says PARIS, they also have 2 Crown or Bee marks on the end pieces. Comes in it's original leather container, with a burnt orange silk lining, the lining on inside of lid is good, on the inside of the case part there a few torn spots, clasp works fine, strap still intact but getting a bit thin. The opera glasses work fine, lenses appear to be in good condition. The mother of pearl is in great condition, no chips, cracks or pieces missing. As shown in the pictures, the brass does have some wear on it, and the black paint on the edge of the wide part of the lense has some wear. Also, I noticed on one of the edges of the lens, actually the brass part, it has a small ding, but does not affect the glasses. Offered is this pair of Antique French Old Paris Spill Vases. The vases are each 4 5/8" high and are stamped on the bottom249/XXIII/19. Thee is remnants of old gold articulation and appear to be in great condition with no chips or cra cks. Note. There is a line in the glaze on the interior of one from the rim where it makes a"v" shape on the left. It appears to be in the glaze as it is not visible on the reverse side of the vase. Here's an Extraordinary Pair Of 19th Century Antique Porcelain Vases Expertly Handpainted with Portraits of the Poets Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and William Cullen Bryant. The quality of the artwork on these is truly as good as it gets- they must have been done by the top decorators at whatever company produced them. Which leads me to say I don't know who made them; they have the look and feel of Old Paris Porcelain. But of course the subject matter would indicate an origin in England. Perhaps the porcelain blanks were painted by an English artist. There's some information to go on; the bases have some impressed numbers, and painted artist's initials. Any help would be most welcome. They stand approximately 8 and 1/2" tall each, measure about 9" wide, and are roughly 3 and 1/2" in depth. This unique pair of Old Paris porcelain vases or urns are hand painted and have horse handles. The urns are 10 5/8 inches tall. The urns date to circa 1860 and are French. The pieces have hand painted scenes of the water and scenery with the mountains in the background. One of the pieces is in good condition with only a chip to an ear on one of the horses. And a small chip to the other horses ear, and a chip on each side below the handles. The other piece has had a substantial amount of damage with breaks and chips. Antique (Pair) Old Paris Porcelain Fan Shaped Vases in White/Green; 1900, Great
This pair of old Paris Porcelain vases is spectacular. The pair dates back to the very early 1900's. Made in Paris France. The design is exquisite, as is the coloring. Each vase has beautiful gold trim accents with a solid white back, and the front done in shamrock green and white. There is also a floral design in the middle of each, in pink, yellow, blue, and purple, with green leaves. The backs of the inside of each has a lovely gold swirl design. On the bottom, they are marked number 110. The vases present in very good condition. Despite their great age, they almost look perfect. The only flaw to be found anywhere, is on the bottom of one vase. It obviously can not be seen(see photo 5) and is not anything to consider troublesome or serious. There is no indication of the defect anywhere but the underside. I also must stress, that aside ... morefrom this they really look perfect. This is a pair of antique Old Paris porcelain vases with paintings and Griffins. Unfortunately. They're damaged. I believe they date from the late 19th century. They each measure 13 1/4 inches tall(33.7 cm) Including the handles. They are each 10 inches wide(25.4 cm) The bases are 4 7/8 inches wide(12.4 cm) I couldn't resist these because they were so beautiful. They each have a great looking Paris painting on them. As to the damage. One has a cracked off Griffin wing, a crack in that Griffin's other wing, and the Griffin's head was glued on a little crooked(please see photos) There is no other damage to that vase. The other vase has a long. Thin crack going around the entire vase. It runs across the middle of the red back, then it goes down and around the bottom of the painting, and comes up along the right side of the painting. ... moreThere are no problems with the Griffins on this one. Antique Pair of Large Old Paris Porcelain Portrait Vases 19 inches 19th century
This is a pair of wonderful Old Paris porcelain vases that are a massive 19 5/8 inches tall. They are 10 ½ inches wide. The vases are decorated with a portrait of a girl on each one. The portraits are hand painted. The vases are decorated with peach and gilt. They have molded floral handles and floral rims. The only mark on the bottom we could identify is 658. Which is likely a pattern number. These date to the mid 19 th century. Likely the 1850’s. It is quite possible they are Haviland, but we did not find the pattern in our Haviland book. They are in excellent condition. There is some gilding loss and one small chip on the underside of one leaf(which cannot be seen from the front. Truly magnificent pair of antique. Old Paris spill vases. 19th century. These are a large and heavy size. Each vase is decorated with a bisque figure, one man and one woman, each with a swan beside them. Probably an allegorical river depiction, from my research and from fellow colleagues in the antiques industry. These vases have sustained very significant damage. Especially to the vase with the depiction of the male.fingers and toes are missing and a large chunk of the swan's wing is gone. There are chips throughout the edges of both of these vases, and the back of the woman's vase has sustained a large hairline that spans the width of the vase. Easily these vases, in perfect condition would sell for approximately $3000. Because of the way the vases are designed, with all the many edges, the flaws are not readily seen to the casual ... moreobserver seeing these from afar(i.e. walking into a room and admiring these beauties! 2 Old Paris vases made between(1700-1830) I don't know much about their history or what facility made them. I looked but don't know how to find specifics for them. My Grandma bought them in the 80's as an investment. I inherited them in 2000. The only marks are the number 210 on both vases and on vase 1 a backwards z Vase 2 has an open symbol maybe O. Or maybe D, I hear that the market for these is more on the east coast. And with interior decorators. I will add closer detailed photos of the intricate patterns painted on them. The gilt on these pieces is extensive even by Paris porcelain standards and really makes these vases ... morepop. An additional unusual feature is that these vases each have a standing statue. One of a debonair young man, the other of a comely maiden coyly eying each other. The vases are 14 1/2" tall and 9 1/2" wide and the figures are about 81/2" tall. They are in excellent overall condition with some losses to the gilt on the lower part of the vases where they have been handled over the years. We are proud to offer at auction this wonderful Pair of French Paris porcelain Vases. They were made in the 19 century. They are all handpainted and wonderfully decorated. They have wonderful designs there's very very little loss to the paint. They were made each in three pieces and are held together by a rod and nut. The Vases are all in good condition with no cracks or chips or repairs. they are 12 1/2 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches across. If you need more photographs sent to you I will be happy to do that.
