Gorgeous 3 pc. Garniture Set. Austrian Turn Teplitz Art Nouveau Vases, Hand Painted. This is a beautiful example of Austrian Turn Teplitz Amphora Porcelain. It is very rare to find a garniture/ mantle set in such wonderful condition. The vases were made by Ernst Wahliss- Alexandra Porcelain Works. C.1905-1915. The vases are hand painted with heavy raised enamel Iris florals, with gold gilt highlights and heavy raised gold gilt borders. The florals travel around the edges of each side. The two outside taller vases stand 13 3/4" tall. The middle vase is 11 1/2" tall. There are NO chips, dings or nicks the vases. The third vase to right has a very tight surface hairline at the pedestal stem that goes half around the outside of pedestal stem base right where the stem meets the body of the vase. I have shown the area in close-up photos#8& ... more9 which show detail well. It does not affect the integrity of the vase, as it does not go through. it is the outside surface) Very minor wear to gilding at rims. Fairly large, Ernst Wahliss Turn-Teplitz fine Bohemian(Austria) porcelain Vase, expertly hand-painted all around in bright raised enamels with a garland of stylized flowers(much better than my photos show) about 10 ins. 25.4 cm) H x 5 ins. 12.7 cm) max. diameter; backstamp: Ernst Wahliss mark of 1899-1918. A product of the Vienna Secession Movement(Wiener Secession) is beautifully decorated with a hand-painted garland having three clusters of stylized roses joined by draped leaves and small blue flowers- all are meticulously outlined in black; together with a simple band of leaves all around near the base, and a black wavy line around the neck. It probably dates from the late 1800s to early 1900s when he was active. Its imposing shape features a luster glaze finish with painted irises in burgundy and orange with touches of brown. The background is a mustard shade. It is numbered 5659 and in very good condition with no chips or cracks. There is some slight glaze wear but nothing unsightly. Ernst Wahliss Two Handled Austrian Porcelain Floral Bud Vase (#51-3)
Description This estate piece is a beautiful two handled Ernst Wahliss porcelain bud vase with a colorful floral pattern. Our research determined that Ernst Wahliss began his family business in 1863 in Trnovany. Czech Republic(Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia, Austria) According to the maker's mark on the bottom of this piece(red crown and shield) this vase was most likely made between 1899-1918. This small vase has wonderful hand painted flowers, stems and leaves. The background has a light cream matte finish. The lower portion of the narrow neck is pierced with seven small irregular holes in the porcelain– front and back. Both handles are heavily gilded in an ornate scroll design. There are other gilt highlights throughout the vase– outlining the flowers. Around the base, around the piercings and around the upper neck and rim. In addition to the ... morecrown/shield hallmark on the bottom, there are some painted numbers that look like"5621" 2182" L2" and"2" Perhaps these are shape/artist numbers. A gorgeous piece. Dimension/size– This vase stands approximately 5 ¾" tall and is about 3 ½" at its widest. 5.6 oz. Condition– This piece is in excellent condition for perhaps being over 100 years old. Some of the heavy gilding on the two handles is slightly worn and darkened. There is some very slight gilt loss in other areas as well but they do not detract from the beauty of this piece. The wall around one of the piercings has a tiny space where some of the porcelain has disappeared. Please see photos.
