The vase is raised by finely chased ormolu plinth below a square pedestal decorated by circular ormolu bands and reeded designs. A huge 19th century Sevres style vase with cover
This is a museum quality breathtakingly hand painted 19th century Sevres vase with cover. It is a huge piece with about 37.5 inches high and 16 inches wide. The body of the vase can rotate on the base. The ground color of Sevres blue is so refreshing and the painting was so well done. The gilt is faded somewhat however for people who love antiques. It is an evidence of more than 100 years of natural aging. There is not any cracks, chips, or hairlines on the vase, however, with very careful and close inspection, I find 4 scratches on the painting. Please see the last four photo. Nevertheless, I cannot notice them at 2 feet away without prior knowledge of their existence. One of the handles cannot rest fully due to the slight bent of the screw that fixes the handle to the vase. The handle does rest on the vase if you apply a very gentle force, ... moremeaning as simple as a double face tape would solve the problem) I have disclosed any and all defects I can find so bid with confidence. The choice of colors are genius. Bright and vibrant in thick enamel together with the gold haze background, beautifully placed and subtlely fading to deep liquid blue, give this vase a stunning, exotic look ahead of its time. There is a small surface chip at the base edge as seen in one of the photos. Other than this, the vase is in excellent condition with no enamel loss, cracks or chips and no scratches or scuffs. Basically other than the small chip, there is not even any signs of wear on this piece. Reproduction pair 18th century French Sevres Vases Urns made out of resin?
Stunning reproduction 18th Century French Sevres Vases that are hand painted and signed on the base. They appear to be made out of resin or hard composite material- they look just like porcelain from a distance(it's difficult to tell unless you examine them closely) They are quite heavy and weighty. The vases feature lots of gold detailing. Ornate handles, and hand painted roses. I looked them over carefully- there is no damage and no chips. The lids on the top are hinged and open up- they are finished with a brass detail. Very pretty. Both vases are incised with the name"Sahiba" and one vase has a label that reads"Sahiba- hand painted" Measurements are: 7 inches tall by 4 inches wide.
