This is an item I purchased in early 1980s in NY. It really is a gorgeous classic Royal Vienna collectible. A 12" tall lidded cobalt blue hand painted Urn on a square bolted base. Made by Royal Vienna of Austria. See all photos for close up details. Age related wear to areas of gilt on top and rim, only one crack, a repair to front of urn made by previous owner. The buyer can work with restoring that area but it is out of my expertise, OR just leave as is. The vase measures just less than 11 inches high and is 5 inches wide at the handles and is done in Art Nouveau style with the organic form of the handles and the addition(very rare) of the raised pale blue anemone above the portrait and verso. The inside of the vase is white gradating to palest robin-egg blue leading in to the two posies atop. We've not sold one with this decoration. Produced before 1920s from the mark and artist. The porcelain vase features gilt scalloped round foot which supports the elegant form vase. The vase is hand painted with the portrait of a beautiful woman with flowing gowns and anemones decorating her long ... moredark hair. The scene is painted with incredible attention to detail and at the back of the vase is the repeating decoration of the pale blue posy. The handles are elegant and arching with a scrolling openwork floral Art Nouveau motif. The vase is marked on the bottom with the beehive Royal Vienna mark dating the piece to the early 20th century. The condition overall is very good. There are no chips. Repairs, cracks. Minor wear to the unglazed bottom, gilt handles and light scuffing to the back exterior glaze appropriate with age and use. This auction is for a lovely miniature porcelain PORTRAIT HAND PAINTED ARTIST SIGNED VASE. It is not marked though I believe it to be ROYAL VIENNA. Though it could be French. I can't decipher the artists signature perhaps some Ebayer out there will recognize it and let me know, it looks like KLOTZON. It stands a small 2' tall. It is in lovely condition, just the teeniest tiniest of little miniscule nips along the bottom that are nearly nonexistent and some very light gold rim wear as seen in the photos. HEUBACH GERMANY PORCELAIN PORTRAIT VASE ROYAL VIENNA TYPE 1880's PRICE REDUCED
Stunning Heubach cabinet vase hand painted with a portrait of a beautiful young lady wearing pearl jewelry. Each pearl is done in raised enamel to add depth. She has an exquisite peaches and cream complexion and a demure expression which the artist has skillfully captured. Her hair is elaborately coiffed in a modified pouf adorned with a headband and pearl mini-tiara. Some portraits of famous subjects are copied so often. But I have never seen this one before. She has a natural appearance and might be a real life woman whose likeness was specifically commissioned. The images make her look paler than she is in real life. The portrait actually has a soft creamy look. The portrait is enclosed in a cartouche of raised gold paste over a deep lavender ground and further gold accents. The vase itself is a deep cobalt blue which is an unusual and ... moreextremely rare combination with the lavender. And it is exceptionally appealing. The vase has additional enhancements of stamped gold designs as seen in the images. The entire look of the vase is reminiscent of the contemporaneous portrait pieces being produced by the factories at Vienna. Berlin, Dresden, etc. The vase has the Heubach sunburst trademark in underglaze flow blue. As well as the decorator's number 63 in overglaze gold. The Gebruder Heubach(Heubach Brothers) firm was founded in Lichten. Germany c.1840 by Georg Christoph& Phillipp Jakob Heubach. It closed in 1938. They were mostly known for bisque dolls and piano babies, but they also manufactured high quality household items. Their“sunburst” trademark was registered in 1882. Collectors sometimes refer to this trademark as“sunrise/ sunset” because the circle is bisected into two. The initials GH are in the lower half. The vase is in wonderful condition. The raised gilt paste that has been hand applied is completely intact and still shiny.
