Very decorative European porcelain basket or a vase. The main color is deep-deep cobalt blue with bright decorations. The basket and the decor are in perfect shape- I haven't noticed any rubbed off decor which could be expected for the type of item. No chips. Cracks or crazing. There is a minor production problem- one spot on the base is missing the glaze- almost invisible when the basket is standing right up. The excess of the glaze has been shaved off to achieve perfect footing of the basket. There are no markings I can detect. But this is not a new item. It is 8 and 1/2' H x 7 and 1/2' W(max) and 4' deep. It weights 610 g. I would expect $12-$30 shipping to Canada and the US. Stunning Heubach cabinet vase hand painted with a portrait of a beautiful young lady wearing pearl jewelry. Each pearl is done in raised enamel to add depth. She has an exquisite peaches and cream complexion and a demure expression which the artist has skillfully captured. Her hair is elaborately coiffed in a modified pouf adorned with a headband and pearl mini-tiara. Some portraits of famous subjects are copied so often. But I have never seen this one before. She has a natural appearance and might be a real life woman whose likeness was specifically commissioned. The images make her look paler than she is in real life. The portrait actually has a soft creamy look. The portrait is enclosed in a cartouche of raised gold paste over a deep lavender ground and further gold accents. The vase itself is a deep cobalt blue which is an unusual and ... moreextremely rare combination with the lavender. And it is exceptionally appealing. The vase has additional enhancements of stamped gold designs as seen in the images. The entire look of the vase is reminiscent of the contemporaneous portrait pieces being produced by the factories at Vienna. Berlin, Dresden, etc. The vase has the Heubach sunburst trademark in underglaze flow blue. As well as the decorator's number 63 in overglaze gold. The Gebruder Heubach(Heubach Brothers) firm was founded in Lichten. Germany c.1840 by Georg Christoph& Phillipp Jakob Heubach. It closed in 1938. They were mostly known for bisque dolls and piano babies, but they also manufactured high quality household items. Their“sunburst” trademark was registered in 1882. Collectors sometimes refer to this trademark as“sunrise/ sunset” because the circle is bisected into two. The initials GH are in the lower half. The vase is in wonderful condition. The raised gilt paste that has been hand applied is completely intact and still shiny. And approximately 5 1/4 inches wide from handle to handle. This vase from Royal Vienna Germany is green with gold trim and gold decorative flourishes. It features an elegant portrait of a young woman wearing a red dress with white collar and bonnet in a gold frame in the center of the vase. The portrait appears to be initialed although I have been unable to make it out. Could be SES. LES or WES. The Royal Vienna vase is in excellent condition although there is some wear to the ornamental gold flowers and flourishes. HOWEVER. Large Austrian Sculptural Porcelain Vase Amphora Secessionist Art Noveau Vienna
A remarkable sculptural vase from the Art Nouveau period by the famous Austrian firm Reissner. Stellmacher and Kessel. This stunning vase is from the Amphora range which was produced between the years 1892 to 1905. The model number is stamped into the base as well as the Amphora Austria emblem.I can't make out the number. Also number 404 on the glazing. Structurally the vase is perfect the ornamentation may have had some restoration done. But none that I can see.
