Early Arkansas Fishing Guide's License badge set, RARE Cloth Fabric- WW2 1929-46
I'm selling two early Arkansas Fishing Guide's licenses for one man. Plus his 1943 Missouri chauffeur's license, if you are curious to see his photo. The 1932 license is very unusual, because it is made of fabric instead of paper as shown in the 3rd photo. The 1946 license is a paper license. Both were found in aluminum State of Arkansas badge holders, which are also included in this auction. The ink entries on the fabric license are quite faded, but still readable. Also, a 1946 Missouri Conservation Commission guide certificate. Also included are war ration books, veterans card, and social security card for this man. You'll have to see photos to see what all is there. Some of these old papers were folded up in a wallet photo carrier. Measuring approximately 70 1/2" x 73" This is of a substantial size and weight. The cloth consists of one large shield bordered by hundreds of hand embroidered tiny flags. The condition of this textile is very good with the exception of one small, repairable hole(which I have provided a picture of) The colors are good, there are no smells and most imortantly, no dry rot which many of these antique paisleys suffer from. Giving that gently timeworn look. The top( on the back side) has a lovely faded blue trim which held the rings for hanging. 4 light metal rings are still intact for hanging. This panel has a seam that runs almost right down the middle and the top is pieced( please see photographs) so this panel is ideal for hanging or lovely for re-working! ~*~. The fabric is a light to medium weight cotton. This fabric was printed using roller printers and the red was applied using hand carved wooden blocks. This piece has a deep 4 inch machine stitched hem at the bottom. The body is wrapped with a cotton cloth. Figures among the Bassa are rare. Those covered with cloth are even more rare. The surface indicates much handling and an extensive use for a long period. The offered piece stands on its own base. The Bassa have several female and male societies. Including chu-den-zo, to whom gela(geh-naw) The Bassa are relatives of the Dan, who live to their northeast, mostly in Cote d'Ivoire. They have absorbed much from Dan culture, including the usage and appearance of their arts. Occupying the geographic center of Liberia, the Bassa live in scattered small villages, and cultivate rice and other crops. They do not have a centralized government or paramount chief, and depend on secret societies like the"Poro" to maintain order and social cohesion. Masks are the primary modes of expression for the Bassa, as well as their Mande relatives, and figures are rare and poorly documented. Antique/vintage border. Trim, upholstery or costume supplies; cloth of gold Here is a lot with some very useful trim for use on upholstery or other craft projects. The first item is a length of cloth-of-gold fringe. Made of metal-wrapped cord. The fringe is about 2 ¼ inches deep and there is about are two piece of it, one 9 inches long and the other 8 inches long. There is also a piece of silky gimp that comprises a woven band with a looped fringe on one end. The width. Including the fringe, is about 1 ¼ inches and there are two pieces, one 62 inches long and the other 29 inches long. Next is a piece of wide gimp or upholstery trim woven with“dots” of velvet alternating with dots of knotted areas in a maroon color. This is previously used and has glue residue on the back. It is 1 ½ inches wide and 90 inches long. Also include ... moreis a reel of thread-like fringe in dark green and black. About 1 ¾ inches deep. We haven’t unrolled this one, so we don’t know how long it is, or if it is in one piece or several. We also did not unroll the next item in this lot: a reel of multiple pieces of trim made up of gathered. Sheer, ivory-colored cloth, about 1 inch wide. Next are two lengths of trim. Never before used, made up of a ruffle of stiff netting stitched to a cotton header. This is ¾ inches wide and one piece is 61 inches long and the other is 92 inches long. These come on their original paper reel, though it is a bit battered. As an added bonus. We are throwing in a length of ivory velvet welting, previously used and dingy, and also a length of brown loosely-woven welting.

Every late 1800s Singer Sewing Machine was sold with one of these accessory boxes. Box is clearly stamped with the patent date— February 19. 1889 and contained all the attachments for the Singer Sewing Machine. This fingerjoined box has a wonderful warm honey color. It’s 6 1/2” long x 3 1/4” tall x 3 1/3” deep. Easy to close, it just rolls up, snaps shut, and is lined with its original red burgundy velvet. Velvet is in excellent condition— color is strong and there are no splits or tears. From what I can see from the last picture(a reprint of the original manual for the#11 and#27 Singer Sewing Machine) a few items are missing, but still more complete than most listed on eBay. This is a Victorian era(probably c 1880 to 1920) Turkey Red tablecloth that measures 49" x 56" It has a light weight and some fading so striations do show in the red field. Beautiful leaf(hosta? and blossom(forget-me-not? pattern with an 8" border to the inside edge of the fringe. There are many variations in red in the world.this Turkey Red would be considered leaning toward an orange/red of a fire engine rather than blue/red. Turkey Red cloths were made in Europe from a red dye called alizarin. Originally. The dye used was produced from the roots of the madder plant in the area of India and Asia Minor. It wasn't until the 13th century that Western Europeans first discovered this colorfast dye in Turkey, hence the name"Turkey Red" Jump to the Victorian era where these dyed threads were woven into damask designs ... moreand were very popular in Victorian homes. Now, after one hundred years plus of use, these cloths have suffered varying degrees of fading due to washing and sun damage. Pieces in pristine condition are rare. But many are still in beautiful, vintage condition and continue to be a part of family celebrations to this day. We like to list Turkey Red damask tablecloths and other antique linens as we come upon them. They have been found at estate sales. Antique malls and, yes, even online. Pure damask linen table cloth and 12 matching napkins. Soft fine linen. Two hand embroidered OC monograms on table cloth and one in the centre of each napkin. The pure linen damask table cloth measures 63" x 90" and has two hand embroidered OC monograms 3½" x 2" 31" apart. The napkins measure 25" x 30" and the monograms 3" x 2" There are small sprays of flowers woven through the letters and point de bourdon French dots. Sunflowers in the damask weave decorating the edges. There are some very small rust spots on the cloth(please see photographs) and on two or three napkins. Which I missed first time round. The altar cloth is filled with amazing embroidery crosses and flowers and accented with couched metallic gold thread. This small table cover would be great for the Easter table dressing. This small table cloth would look lovely displayed on a small table or draped over a large table as a unique table topper. Tablecloth measurements: 36” x 34” 90 cm x 85 cm) The hand done silk thread embroidery design is of 4 separate crosses in each of the corners. Above the four crosses is a flower bud leading to a large open flower with petals followed by more flower buds and leaves and stems. The colors of the silk thread embroidery are in shades of green. White purple and ... moreyellow. The silk embroidery design is further enhanced with gold metallic couched thread and a few rhinestones. The fabric of the church altar cloth is satin brocade in a pearl ivory color with a Jonquil daffodil flowers design in the brocade. The reverse side of the altar cloth is a pale yellow colour. The altar cloth is finished off with a yellow rope cord trimming with a tiny loop in each of the corners. While not perfect in condition it is worthy of being enjoyed and appreciated for its beauty as a lovely religious art piece. The altar cloth is in good antique pre-owned condition with imperfections to the embroidery. Vintage Hawaii from collection of F. G. Collamore. USN was Stationed at Kaneohe Bay during the Japanese attacks on Dec 7, 1941. Kaneohe Bay Naval Air Station was in support of three submarine patrol squadrons, VP-11, VP-12 and VP 14 each with 12 patrol aircraft, most newer PBY-5s. Mr. Collamore was a AMM3c with squadron VP-12. Kaneohe Bay Naval Air Station was attacked 5 minutes before Pearl Harbor was attacked. Nice historical item. This is a piece of burnt cloth where Mr Collamore or someone had drawn the US Navy Design and Kaneohe Bay. TH, Dec. 7, 1941 in ink. The cloth is some sort of thin rayon so do not know what it was from, flag, banner, uniform, plane, etc? Wish I had more info on it. Size approximation: 7 1/2 x 9 inches. Up for sale is a vintage antique roulette wheel and game board recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. The game wheel is metal with glass and a lever to spin the wheel. By pushing the level or button on the side, this wheel spins the ball. It has an approximate diameter of 4 3/4" and also approximately 1 3/8" thick. Two oil cloth number sheets are included with this wheel. This sheet measures approximately 14 1/4" x 25" in size. Primary colors are green, red, black and white.
