Description Offered for auction is a beautiful very colorful antique 1800's"Pryamid" unused quilt top. It measures about 73" X 82" The quilt is completely hand stitched except for the borders. The colors are bright and fabric is strong and unwashed. The quilt is in very good unused condition but there is some discoloration on one border edge which is shown in the last pic. It's difficult to show all the incredible embrodery on this quilt as I'm limited to 12 photos. Red Velvet Border is stunning.the handwork is outstanding. For anyone who's a quilter this is To Die For. In my opinion ready to display or use! It is in great condition for its age as it was found in a Lane Cedar Chest with no mothing or rips where it has been for years! There is a small separation on on of the blue squares which could be repaired. The grandaughter told me that her grandma did this prior to the grandaughters mom being born.the granddaughter is in her late 50's) The back of the quilt is present and nice too. Antique Sampler Crazy Quilt - dated and signed 1890
This is a Sampler CRAZY QUILT that has been signed and dated by many different ladies. The quilt displays their workmanship and embroidery skills. Entirely HAND MADE. There are multiple choices of embroidery holding the pieces together- its not just one stitch style. Please look at the edges of the pieces. There are a variety of fabrics used also- silk. Velvet etc. I've included pictures of some to the pieces where the fabric is fraying- probably more from the choice of material than through usage. Very talented needlework. There is a Victorian girl holding a wooden bucket, a Victorian boy blowing bubbles, a child wearing a bonnet, a boy fishing, flowers, water lily, wreaths, acorn& leaves, lace up boots, a crown, Parasol, heart with an arrow through it, a wheelbarrow, pitcher& basin, plus animals such as a mouse, a dove, monkey, ... morefox, dog, owl. There are names- Pollie, Flora- and many initials. The quilt was stated to have come from the estate of Marg Hutchison and came to my wife via an eBay purchase in November 2003 from South Western Canada. This is one CRAZY Quilt! Loaded with all different patterns. Silks, velvets, painting and embroidery. We are unsure of the origin. But believe it to be a Commerative Quilt and more than likely designed to be hung on a wall. It measures appx 64" x 65" Which includes the olive green velvet border(border appx 4" It has not been restored and there are several patches that could use restoration. Numerous patches with dates. Excellent Antique Quilt c.1890 "Fox & Geese" Hand Quilted Multi Prints 76 x 84"
This is a wonderful antique quilt. It is all cottons and measures 75 1/2 x 84" The name of the block pattern is Fox and Geese. Or it is also known as Double X. It dates to the 1890's. It has a beautiful variety of early prints- double pinks, indigos,shirtings,paisley, polka dots on checks and more. The connecting blocks are a tiny black and white shirting print. It has a double pink border strip that is 1 3/4" and it is bound in the same print. The back of the quilt is a tiny deep brown shirting print. The blocks are skillfully pieced with matching points and the blocks are set on point. The hand quilting is very nice, with vertical lines in the pieced bloc, circular lines in the plain block and it has a light cotton bat. Condition is very good- colors are bright and there are no holes or weak spots. There are four of the light ... moreblocks that have some very faint stains as shown in last picture- they are not distracting. This quilt has been documented by the Minnesota Quilt Project.

Estate and Antique* This is an original signed and numbered(15 by M A Whiting. in several places. The Dresden Plates are appliqued onto this quilt top. It is 80 by 63 inches. They are not placed evenly and I think Ms. Whiting may have been elderly by her signature which is inked. The one edge for about 15 inches is not completed with the overlay embroidery as pictured. I don't think it was ever washed. But I am not a quilter. Museum quality I was told, Folk art-styled. I have a table cloth/ quilt top which is an alphabet sampler quilt top which is dated 1894. This is circa 1890's. Has minor stains/ little to speak of. Got as many pics in as possible. Hand Done as much as possible by the looks. The Singer was out and it may have been finished with a machine. I am not sure. I know it is authentic by materials used and qualities. Auction Wizard 2000 Listing Template- AW2KLOT#48139 1890-1910 LeMoyne Star Quilt Top This listing is for an antique LeMoyne Star quilt top. Judging by the fabrics used. I would estimate the top to have been made between 1890 and 1910. The fabrics include indigo blues, mourning prints, shirtings, Turkey Red prints, and burgundy/cranberry prints. The LeMoyne star blocks are set on point. The setting blocks are cranberry with tiny white polkadots. The top measures approximately 72" X 82" There are some light age spots and a small section along the edge that appears to be rodent damage. The top appears never to have been laundered. The star blocks were pieced by hand. They were joined to the setting blocks by machine. This top would make an excellent addition to your collection. BREATHTAKING Triple Irish Chain Quilt with Oklahoma Cherokee Provinence 1890
This breathtaking Triple Irish Chain dated 1890 was found on a Cherokee Reservation in Oklahoma as part of an estate. Full provinence is inked on the back corner and a hand written paper is sewn next to it with additional provinence. In 1971 it was entered into a contest or exhibition and won a blue ribbon. This quilt is a very well cared for quilt. Or. At least well stored for a very long time. The fabrics used are all 100% Cotton. The cotton fabrics used are all high quality and the whites are true white. There are no signs of spot fading or wear on the fabrics and they are in new condition. Fabrics are true turkey red and double process green with a black geometric print. The turkey red is rich in color and this particular dye registers a flourescent pinkish color when photographed. The backing is a loose weave cotton muslin. The 1/2 inch full binding is in excellent condition. Miss the old version of this page? everything on one long page. hcnpp. Ere is an exciting little original Nine-Patch crib quilt pieced at a perfect sub-postage-stamp scale from mostly brown-toned calicoes. Mixed together so that the occasional stronger contrasts, when they come, really pop out of the rich muddle. A really lovely little find with no particular issues. I would date it to about the 1890's. Size The quilt measures about 25 1/2 x 35 inches. The individual patches in the nine-patch blocks are about 3/4-inch square. Quilting The hand-quilting is nice. With 6-7 little stitches to the inch. Counting on the top side of the quilt only. The treatment is overall 1 1/4-inch hanging diamonds. Construction The quilt is entirely handmade. Backing. Binding& Batting The backing is another brown calico. It has lots of staining. Fading ... moreand some charming perfectly matched patches. The narrow self-binding is rolled from the back and just shows some light edge wear. The batting is super thin and even. Condition The quilt's condition is excellent: strong. Sturdy, supple and clean. I haven't washed it and it does have some minor staining and toning. The only real flaw I note is some old mending on one red block along the bottom edge which is pictured. With light surface dirt in places, washed out applique in the background(it may have once been green) and subtle wear at the edge. There is 1" grid quilting throughout at 7 stitches to the inch. The back is white. The hand stitched binding is rolled over from the front, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light. Antique Log Cabin Quilt (circa 1890 - 1910)
This is a stunning full size log cabin quilt. This quilt includes pieces of claret red fabric. Black mourning fabric, pieces of brown fabric from the 1860’s and a piece of a blouse(most likely that of the quilt maker) as well as pieces of blue, white and pink fabrics. The back of this quilt is white. The border is white as well. It will cover full size bed- it is shown on a queen size bed in the picture. It measures app. 61" wide by 71" long. The batting of this quilt is composed of wool. This quilt is very old– circa 1890-1910– but it is in great condition for it age. There are some pieces of fabric that are torn and there is a water spot on the edge of the quilt– as shown in pictures. And there is some extra fabric on one because I believe she meant to"stuff" the grape design in the center and never finished. The hand stitches are so tiny. Nice small scale basket quilt top. Circa 1870-80's. All hand sewn and appliqued handles. I think it may have been a larger quilt at one time, because one on side one can see stitches that look like something was connected to this edge at one time. Stitching lines visible. It also appears to be washed at some time. Still pretty crisp. There are some light stains and few dirt spots and I did find a 3/4" tear. Very nice workmanship. Measures 50" by 76" No reserve. This lot includes 5 long strips of triangles. All are 7" wide. That is the base of the triangles are 7" Two matching stripes include muslin and a print cotton of roses, leaves and hips they are 90" long. There are 2 strips of plain turkey red that are 90" and 44" long. There is one strip that has two prints with the muslin and that is 90" long. some storage dots but nothing serious. They are hand sewn. Nice to incorporate with other reds, blacks and natural muslin.
