Black& some shirting prints. It has a thin cotton batting& flour sack backing. I wonder if it might have been the first of many quilts made by a young girl of long ago for a special doll? It has been hand-pieced& hand-quilted. I purchased this quilt at a Northwest Missouri estate auction. It is in very good condition with just a few faint stains on the back.

Antique Estate 1950s Quilt "Drunkards Path" - Blue and White 65 x 76 inches
Up for sale is a vintage Drunkard's Path Quilt. It is in fair to good condition. The edges do show significant wear as seen in the photos. This might easily be fixed with adding a border around the quilt to make it bigger. The dimensions are 65 x 76 and it is hand stitched all around/inside the blocks. The quiltmanship is very good. This is just an old quilt that I estimate to be 1950s. It may be older. It came from a very old estate. There is some fading on the quilt it appears because the blocks on one side are a tad bit darker than the rest of the quilt. Very low Reserve. The entire quilt is covered in a tiny 1/2" grid quilting Expertly hand quilted at 9-10 stitches per inch Thin cotton batting. Hand bound with a narrow 1/8" white binding. 30's Blue& White Antique Quilt Top ~UNUSUAL DESIGN! This GORGEOUS cotton 30's royal blue and white sawtooth diamond in a square quilt top is hand pieced. The pattern is most like one called"peekaboo" by Brackman's"Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns. It measures 80" X 96" and is in excellent. Washed condition, with a couple of tiny, faint age spots and no wear. The photos just don't do justice to this blue and white beauty!

Miss the old version of this page? everything on one long page. hddpe. Henomenal hand-quilting really steals the show on this elegantly designed and beautifully executed quilt. But the pieced pattern is quite appealing and challenging itself. The tiny half-square triangles are based on just a postage-stamp-scale one-inch square and by my count each block is composed of 63 smaller pieces. Nevertheless. With quilting this head-turning, you'll be forgiven for giving all your attention to those lush feathered wreaths, triple-rods and crisp gridding. I would date this quilt to around the 1880's. Size The quilt is just off square at one corner and measures about 70 inches square. The blocks are 9 inches square and the half-square triangles based on a 1-inch square. The borders are each about 1 inch wide. Quilting The hand-quilting is breathtaking. ... moreWith 10-13 little stitches to the inch. Counting on the top side of the quilt only. Part of what makes the wreaths so lush and stunning is that the lobes are completely outlined individually rather than nested tightly together sharing quilting lines. The wreath centers are gridded at 3/8 inch or less while the lines of the diagonal double rods are squeezed into as little as 1/4 inch with a skip of 1/2 inch between sets. Construction The blocks are hand-pieced and then set together and the borders added by machine. Backing. Binding& Batting The white backing is slightly gauzier than the front. Strong and supple and just has that discoloration, mostly in the very center. The pretty little 1/4-inch straight-grain binding is invisibly machine-stitche to the front. Rolled and hand-stitched tight on the reverse. Condition is essentially perfect: I just note one tiny popped hole. This is an auction for a VINTAGE/ANTIQUE RED WHITE& BLUE PATCHWORK QUILT- 62"x80" HANDMADE in MISSOURI. The majority of the 3 1/2" finished blocks are made of vintage cotton fabrics mainly red. White, blue in color- but there are a few blocks of greens, yellows. browns also in the quilt. The backing& edging are done in white cotton and the filling appears to be a white flannel(lightweight) The quilt is EXTREMELY OLD. Although I do not know the exact date of when it was made. It was my grandmother-in-law's quilt and she was born in 1901. My husband remembers her having this quilt& just knows that it something that she made. And obviously lovingly used. She lived her entire life in the"Lead Belt" area of the state of Missouri, south of St. Louis. This quilt is completely hand quilted. But finished in ... morea machine stitched binding. The quilt is NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION. There are some stains. Some tears& rips, some missing binding on the edges. The back side is not in as good of condition as the front side. As some of the back fabric is well- worn and has deteriorated. I'm guessing that is why there appears to be an 8 1/2" binding( on one end of the quilt- maybe to reinforce the back side where the fabric was damaged. But why she would also put it across the front side I don't understand. Maybe it was meant to designate the head of the bed where the pillows were to lie on top. I'm not sure- the quilt blocks underneath that strip do not appear to be damaged. A mystery that will never be solved, as Grandma died years ago, before I had the quilt and could ask questions from her. There are no musty smells and it has always been in pet-free. Smoke-free homes. Check the pictures carefully to see where I have tried to picture some of the damages. I have not made any attempt to repair or clean it. Antique cotton fabric material Dark blue Flannel quilt back
Nice piece of antique cotton flannel rescued from the back of an old tied quilt. A medium blue. Almost denim look on one side, back side dark blue. The fabric is from the 1890's or earlier. It is a medium weight cotton flannel(nothing to do with upholstery weight fabric) I would estimate 80% usuable. In good condition, it has a few small tears and holes, some fading, and some stains. I've tugged in both directions and there is no splitting, but the old side seams are weak. The total piece measures 57" wide by 75" long, an individual piece with both selvedges is 28" wide. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Antique French quilt c1850 blue floral lattice design printed cotton textile
~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ This wonderful and rare textile is an antique French quilt dating c1850 ~ the front side of this wonderful textile is the most lovely and rare printed floral and lattice design cotton ~ the colors include: wonderful Prussian blue. Off-white, faded charcoal brown and a muted warm tone of brown ~ LOVELY dripping jewel design ~*~ this side is a printed medium weight cotton, printed using both roller printing techniques and hand carved wooden blocks for added color. This quilt is backed in a c1830's small scale cotton, that is in very poor condition. Many many many holes in the surface of the backing fabric, quite typical of these textiles ~ the back has been patched using pieces of the gorgeous front fabric! ~*~ This textile is 100% hand stitched and hand quilted with a thick, dense layer of cotton between ... morethe layers ~ The front side of this quilt has survived in wonderful condition for its age! There is wear along the side edges of course, and some pale marks that most likely won't clean ~ however generally the front is in beautiful condition ~ I'm selling this textile in as found, unwashed condition with storage dust. Three very pretty pillows made from a beautiful antique quilt. The hand stitches on this quilt are very nice. I think you can see that in the photos. However. Too many worn spots mean the quilt can't be used. So I've made these pretty pillows to be used as decorations-on your bed or chair, or in a basket. Maybe in a baby's room? Each pillow is about 5" by 5" I take the extra time to box the corners, to give the pillow a nice finished shape. The pillows are stuffed with new fiberfill. Hand quilted at 8-9 stitches per inch and treadle machine bound in a dark red binding. It measures 79 1/2" x 79" This quilt is in good condition. There are several small spots. Beautiful Blue& White Handmade Cross Stitched Antique Quilt Ca 1925 Penna This old quilt is a testment to lots of hard work by a talented quilter in the Philadelphia. PA area. The quilting is done by hand and the beautiful cross stitching is also hand done. The quilt does show some signs of age and needs alittle LTC to be restored back to it's orginal state. Great small project while waiting for the warm weather. There is one block that needs the cross stitched repaired, the other 11 blocks 16" square are in great shape. Antique Red White and Blue 16 Point Radiating Star Quilt This beautiful quilt is stunning. It's thin. With one-inch cross-hatch hand-quilting. The back is white cotton and there's minimal if any batting. The binding is white cotton applied on both sides by machine. 80" x 76" Thin and Lightweight. This quilt has rarely if ever been used. There are a couple spots on it which you can see in the pictures. Maybe coffee? They would probably come out. I have not attempted that myself. Antique Baby Quilt - Blue w/Pink Embroidery Flowers - to stack or repurpose
This is such an old baby quilt made by loving hands back around the late 1800s or turn of the century- using the old old cotton muslin(almost looks like homespun) fabrics. It was made in the blue(for everyone hoped for a boy first back then) but'just in case- for they had no way of predetermining the baby's sex' they embroidered the white squares with pink thread in floral patterns. The embroidery was done back in the day when it was common to do a sort of'running' chain stitch type embroidery work and the thread was heavier than embroidery floss. It measures 41" X 49" and has 9 of the embroidered squares which measure about 7 X 8" There is a stain on the top(which may come out with the proper soak) and also I note one hole on the top about nickel size but it doesn't go thru the quilt. It has been laundered ... moreso many times that the embroidery color is almost faded away and the blue is faded as well. The quilting was fine and done in carefully measured 1" squares on the diagonal. Sweet remnant of times past- the baby this was made for has probably already made its journey thru its lifetime and this is left in memory. So. Here it is- well worn, well loved and ready to journey onto someone out there to either use, hang, stack or repurpose into pillows- OR, to add to your collection of old fabrics and embroidery stitches and patterns. Blue and red gingham for the cross pieces, and solid medium blue for the background. The quilt measures 88" x 74" inside the scalloped borders, has a thin cotton batting, a hand applied binding, and a bleached muslin for the back. HAND QUILTED with outline quilting inside the rings. ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY INDIGO BLUE& WHITE"VARIABLE STARS" CRIB OR CRADlE QUILT Description: This is an early antique baby. Crib or cradle quilt. It is all cotton and dates from 1860-1880. This great little quilt is early and scaled nicely but has been used hard. It has sever thin areas and the back is well worn. It would still look great on the wall. Perhaps framed ot streched. It was found in Ohio where a lot of great quilts have been found over the years. It measures 35" X 35" PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING.

GORGEOUS 30's Vintage Dresden Plate Antique Quilt with Blue Applique Accents! This BEAUTIFUL cotton 30's dresden plate quilt is hand pieced. Hand appliqued, and hand quilted, with blue"snowball" accents in the background. It measures 76" X 92" and is in EXCELLENT condition. With no spots or wear. There is quilting around the piecework and in straight line. Oval, and cable designs in the background, all at 5-6 stitches to the inch. The back is white. The hand stitched binding is the same medium solid blue used in the interior, and the batting is thin. Whimsical novelty prints can be found in places. The BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE FABRICS. NICE BLUE, and GREAT CONDITION make this vintage CLASSIC stand out!
