This quilt has been hand quilted. Feathered star pattern. Quilt is soft from years of use. All white cotton backing with cotton batting center. There is a tan piece of fabric sewn on to the back of the quilt. Someone may have used it to hang on a wall at one time. Quilt has normal age wear. Antique Vintage Completed Lone Pine Friendship Quilt 1930 Hand Sewn 77" x 64"
Entered in a local quilt show and was described as Antique Lone Pine 1930 Quilt. Some pieces are dated 1931. Pieced by Aletha Wardlaw in 1930 and all the squares have the individual maker's name on them. All the squares are hand sewn and then sewn together. The back is cotton. Maybe feed sack? I am not sure. All these women were East Texas women and probably living in Mineola at the time it was made. It measures just under 77" x 64 1/2" It has condition problems which I have tried to show in the pictures. I have hand washed it in the tub and dried outside as instructed for the quilt show. I'm guessing circa 1940's or earlier for this issue of this kit. Included are spools of thread selected for the project. The instruction sheet that dictates overall layout including borders, three completed blocks, three partially appliqued ones and three untouched ones ready to be appliqued. The Sunbonnet Babies" written by Eulalie Grover was published in 1900, in which Melcher depicted little girls with their faces hidden by their bonnets(hats with wide brims) These primers were wildly popular and naturally lent themselves to quilting with their simple outlines. Little girls would want Momma or Auntie to make them a Sunbonnet quilt the way today's little girls want Powerpuff Girls or Doc McStuffins shirts and sheets. This is one of my many projects from my time working in a quilt fabric store. I have been determined that I was going to someday finish it. But during my downsizing adventure realized that it simply isn't going to happen. I hope someone else will enjoy doing it. Fabrics and pattern have all been stored in my smoke-free home or climate-controlled storage in a protective box. NOTE: This is not a finished quilt or a finished quilt top. Mini-Quilt Pattern and Fabric Kit - partially completed.
Offered is this mini-quilt kit from the Bottle Quilt Co. It is a foundation paper-pieced(FPP) Mini Bottle Pattern with instructions. The previous owner selected and cut fabrics for this mini-quilt(Finished size is approx. 13" x 16" She chose insect patterned fabric for"bottle contents" Also has already sewn several of the bottle pieces. This kit is ready to finish and assemble. Just add batting and your time and talent. Pattern alone cost $6 when new from Quilts Plus shop. Large Quilt blocks on quilted type fabric 11 completed 14"X15" extra material
Estate sale find! I am offering this group of quilt squares plus extra material so you can complete what someone else never finished! There are 11 complete blocks that measure 14"X15" and 3 are duplicates. There is an additional 4 pieces complete of the center"star" but no material to match the white"outside" area. There is also some additional material of the same type. I call it a quilted material as it is"pre-quilted" from manufacture it would seem. I am not sure if all of the material here was intended for the same quilt but it came together and I do not quilt so it is being included. 1992 Janlynn printed/stamped cross stitch Sleepy Bunnies crib quilt-34" x 43" It is pre quilted. The edges are finished, the back is white cotton fabric. Included are the instruction sheet, color picture& the cotton stamped quilt. Embroidery has been started on it-not a lot-but there are areas that are stitched. There is no floss with the quilt. I am selling it as found at an estate sale. The instruction sheet does have the colors& color numbers required. So the floss could be purchased to complete this cute quilt.
