$17.80 Shipping Location: Highland, United States This is a beautiful antique crazy quilt. It is dated 1896 and the initials MJR and VAR are embroidered into the quilt as well. It measures 69 inches by ... more69 inches. It has amazing handwork and embroidery throughout. The back is made of fabric with castle scenes on it. The back is folded over the front and sewn to make an edging. Overall it is in quite good condition for its age. I counted about 4 places on the quilt that had a small amount of wear or damage. I showed two of these areas in pictures 8 and 9. So this quilt is NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION and I am selling it in as is condition. The quilt is quite heavy weighing just under 5 pounds alone. I will always combine shipping whenever possible to make sure you spend the least amount. I use the least expensive way of shipping I can which is usually the slowest method. If you need the package sent more quickly please let me know so that I can calculate the cost and send you an updated bill. I add a 1.00 handling fee to cover shipping supplies. I will add insurance to my handling fee if the item is glass or fragile in any way since the post office is quite rough with packages. Please work with me to make an insurance claim if this happens. EACH PIECE is then completely outlined in a variety of different types of hand done feather stitches. The edges are all bound in different pieces from the quilt and again each edge is outlined in different feather stitches. The back is a soft tan flannel material. The center of the quilt features a silk piece embroidered and dated 1909. Many many other pieces in the quilt are featured with different pictorial embroidered little pictures of animals such as dogs, horses, fish, rams, sheep cat, chickens(Roosters) bird,elephant, etc. Also featured in embroidery are children, a house, military drummer boy, flag, evergreen tree, anchor and flowers. One piece is very special. It is a silk woven menu from the historic Arcade Hotel in Springfield, Ohio. There are 6 pieces of silk that show freying-one is the 1909 silk in the center. Otherwise it is in very very good condition. This piece is quite heavy weighing over 5 pounds. That will give you an idea of the amount of fabric and embroidery that went into making this piece.I have never seen a piece with this amount of extensive decorative feather stich embroidery in all parts of the quilt. Truly a wonderful decorative piece to hang on a wall. Over 100 years old and a wonderful piece of artwork. Two 1890 Vintage Crazy Quilts
Two crazy quilts made in 1890. One is dated the other is not. The dated quilt is 62.5" long, 41" wide with a 5" trim and triangles approximately 3" The other is not dated and is 70" long, and 42" wide with the same trim. Multiple fabrics are used including silk, velvet, taffeta, wool, flannel etc. The quilts have a flannel backing. The can be used as wall hangings, bed covers, or decorative pieces at the bottom of a bed. Both are in good condition, one has minimal wear on a few patches. Some photos have the quilts folded so that you can see the backings.

2 Vintage Tied Quilts- CRAZY QUILT And Unique Americana Folk Patchwork Sampler
This auction is for two vintage quilts. Many of the patterns of the fabric seem to be perhaps from the 60's or 70s. But some earlier. There is a consistent gray pattern fabric that looks like 1960's pajamas used in the larger quilt. There are no significant flaws to the front of these quilts, the smaller quilt is in good shape, and a crazy quilt. No fancy top stitching or quilting, just sewn and tied. Thin summer weight, but felt back and binding. the larger quilt has a very unique design. One half of it is essentially one type of large squares, and the other half of it is comprised of various smaller nine patch variation patterns, including sawtooth star and others. The back side of it has a checkerboard of creamy white and black stretchy fabrics, and a wide border of the white. It has a huge gap at the top and bottom of where the ... moreblack and white squares are in back. You can see to the other side- there is no batting. Edges are not bound but whip stitched all around! The entire length of these two areas in back needs to be sewn back together, but no other seam issues. The creamy white color fabric has the textured appearance of bark cloth, but is stretchy. Both of these quilts are tied, and ties are worn in places. Usable, charming and repairable. Larger quilt is still only small twin size, 50" x 60" long. Email any questions! Two vintage cotton crazy quilts / carriage blankets, no reserve
Offered here without reserve are these two nearly matching in size(one is 76" x 46" The other 79" x 44" and pattern cotton crazy quilts or, more properly(since they aren't quilted) carriage blankets. Both are machine sewn and one, I suspect, has had its backing replaced(the upper right quilt in the first picture) The other quilt has a repaired flaw as shown in my 5th picture and a tear in the backside(see picture 6) but here the backing is wholly original. This is indeed an unusual and boldly graphic pair, and imagine what they would look like on a pair of twin beds with a country Americana setting! So once again, there is no reserve but domestic USPS priority mail shipping will run $15.
