But this belonged to my great-grandmother who was born in 1867 but I don't know when she made it or acquired it. Approximate Measurements: 92" x 70" The pillow cover measures 15" by 15" This is a beautiful vintage handstitched quilt with a hexagon honeycomb pattern. This handmade folk art quilt has over 6000 multi-colored hexagon pieces. The variety in the different flowers is amazing. So many different flower patterns and colors expertly put together. This beautiful piece has to be seen to get the true appearance much better than pictures show due to lighting conditions. It features a lovely collection of vintage fabrics. Some feed sack I think. The cotton batting is light weight and evenly distributed. Each hexagon measures 1 inch wide. The hexagons on the pillow are 3/4 inches wide. There are about 260 hexagons on the pillow case. The quality is very good with very light wear. The edge around the quilt has frayed. I showed the most extreme fraying in a picture. There are also two light purple pen marks, one of which bled through, also shown in pictures but hard to find when you are just looking at the quilt as a whole.

Vintage 1930's Flower Basket Quilt Blocks. Pieces& Pattern This is a sweet taste of 1930's style! The lot includes: 3 blocks in various stages of completion ~ hand-pieced 1 strip of 4 squares 15 large triangles in small green print for basket 17 medium triangles in white cotton for bottom of block 41 completed small squares(half white/half print) 65 small triangles in assorted 30's prints A pattern for the Flower Basket blocks ~ Looks like a variation on the design. But the templates are the same size. It may be a copy from a book. I think the completed block should measure around 12-1/2" if they are following the enclosed pattern) There are a few pieces with brown storage spots. But maybe a good soak would help. Gorgeous Vintage Doll Quilt Feedsacks Teensy Pieces
Selling my collection of little vintage and antique quilts. Wonderful antique doll quilt not later than the 1940's. Strip pattern of 1/2" blocks. Hardly used. Crisp and not washed. Fabrics are mostly feedsacks and some earlier prints. Backing and ground is a creamy muslin. Some photos show dark areas on the muslin ground. But those are only lighting shadows, as shown in last photo. All cotton with light cotton batting. Pink edging. All hand-sewn. Overall size is 21" square. Made with feed sack and other cotton pieces. The main color is green. Not blue as it appears on my computer. This appears to be entirely hand stitched. It's all cotton. Thin and light weight. Backing is white cotton. It's hand quilted at 9 stitches per inch. Counting one side only, so it was well made. Unfortunately, it has seen much use. One block in particular is in bad shape, with five smaller blocks within it having shattered fabric. There are two places on opposite sides that have a small tear. Offering this large lot of antique hand-sewn quilt top pieces and 35 vintage/antique machine sewn crazy quilt-top blocks. The first image is of an antique. Hand-sewn, finished piece with 2 floral blocks. I don't know the pattern. This piece measures 14" wide by 92" long. It is in excellent condition. Next is another antique hand-sewn piece(shown in the image with a single block in the same pattern) The single block measures 14" square and the sewn piece measures 14" wide by 92" long. There is one noticeable area of tiny specks/stains in one of the pink and white blocks. See close-up image insert. Also. The large center white squares have very light and much tinier widely scattered specks. These are barely there and difficult to see. Otherwise. There is no damage. Antique vintage unfinished HANDSTITCHED 30's feedsack quilt top pieces - pinks
This auction is for a set of antique/vintage HAND STITCHED 1930's era quilt blocks/pieces. They are very nicely worked. Running approximately 7 to 9 stitches per inch. The points are crisp and the blocks lay flat! Some of the pieces appear to be feed sack fabric and most are small print calico. Predominently pinks and pastel greens. There are 3 strips that are approximately: 79" long x 11 1/2" wide. And a partial strip that is approximately: 40" long x 11 1/2" wide. I think that if the pieces were re-arranged a little bit that there would be enough pieces and fabrics to make a crib quilt or lap quilt. The fabric all looks crisp and unused; like it was scraps from other projects. rather than cut from used garments. Issues: aside from the obvious- it is not complete; I note 2 very small(1/4" light color stains. ... moreThey may come out if laundered. Vintage 28 Feedsack Quilt Pieces Fans or Dresden? These fans or dresden quilt pieces have been machine sewn. The pink quarter circles and the outside edges have been sewn by hand. The outside edges have been turned over and hemmed with a wide stitch 4 stitches per inch and the same with the pink pieces in the center. Those haven't been turned over just stitched on to the other pieces in the fan. You are bidding on 19 vintage 1930's fabric pieces cut into Sun Bonnet Sue dresses with 2 matching flower pieces also. These are all different. Wonderful 1930's prints. The dresses are 8" wide x 7" long and the 2 flowers are oval, 2 3/4" a 1 3/4" long. These are cotton fabric. The white fabric in picture 11 is the pattern for Sun Bonnet Sue. You may not be able to see very well in the picture. On each side is the flower. The salmon color fabric in picture 12 is the hat. Foot, and hand pattern. I will be sending the cut out cardboard pattern of the dress and flower. With some creative designing and know-how, you could turn these wonderful fabric pieces into an heirloom quilt. The doll is handmade from pieces of material called yo yos. Which are typically found in what is known as a yo-yo quilt. The doll has a stuffed, cloth covered head. She's wearing a red checked hat which has a jingle bell attached. Her hair is braided. She has sewn on eyes, nostrils, and mouth, with painted cheeks. The doll is in wonderful condition with no damage, which is rare considering the age. An example of this type of doll can be seen featured on the front cover of the Dorothy Hammond price guide(1984-85) for $200.00. I've included photos of that book for you. I'm curious what this project would have looked like completed. It's made up of 1/2 square triangles. The colors are great, indigo blues, turkey red, bubblegum pink, mostly shirting small prints. There are two pieces that had begun to be sewn together with a small pink check. There are about 5 pieces that have some pieces missing. Then there are 23 of the 6-sided units. Each of these units is 16" x 10" The pieces are machine sewn together. I'm hoping someone will see the intened vision for these old quilt units and will have the desire to complete it. Huge LOT Vintage FEED AND FLOUR Seed Sack Fabric Quilt Pieces *Must See Premade
We found all of this vintage fabric in our great grandmothers trunk. After talking to my mother I found out this fabric was all from old flour sacks from the early 1900's. These are all as I found them. Obviously they need to be ironed flat. I'm not a quilter but I hung on to these for many years for sentimental reasons.now. I've decided that I would much rather see someone make a quilt out of all these pieces. As you can see in the pictures there is 20 big stitched circles. There are 4 larger ones measuring 20" across. 2 smaller measuring 16" across, and several pieces as shown in pictures. They do need soaking and a little TLC. Vintage 1920's 1930's Depression Cut Fabric Quilt Pieces Plus Quilting Templates
Vintage Depression Era Cut Pieces For Quilting Dating from the 1920's or 1930's. A group of cotton calico(some blue calico) and solid fabric pieces that have been cut for quilting. Most all patches have never been assembled into quilt blocks. There are two shapes of pieces, one a diamond shape and the other a fan shape. Included with the fabrics are the hand cut templates for making. A hand written note on the back of the fan template calls for 14 patches in one block and 56 blocks for quilt. No mention on the diamond shape template. Size of the fan fabric patches: 3-1/8" long x 2" wide at the widest point. The diamond shape measures 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" The patches have not been counted, however, there are a lot of both shapes. Beautiful Vintage Antique YOYO quilt bought at a Vermont Estate sale many year ago in beautiful preowned gently used condition. The quilt is hand made and sewn with cotton squares(look like little flowers) in many different colours. red. Green, light brown, purple, pink, blue, yellow, black, orange& white) The quilt has no rips, stains, odours or holes(I do not know if any of the pieces have been restitched together) each piece measures approximately 1 5/8 inches. The quilt has 1755 pieces and measures approximately 61 inches by 84 inches, there is 1 piece(square where there is some material that looks like its been cut, I never repaired it as I felt the quilt was original and it really is not noticable. Huge Lot 61 Vintage Quilt Pieces, Blocks, Variety of Patterns, Material, Sizes
A huge lot of different patterns. Quilt blocks and pieces. Some are hand stitched and some are machine sewn. Most are in good condition for their age, no major stains or holes, except on a couple that have some spotting. In some of the pitures I tried showing the back. The measurement of the 2 pieces in picture 2 are: on the left approx. 5 ft. 10" long by 22" wide and looks hand stitched. The one on the right is a strip or one piece is approx. 8 Ft. 4" long by 11" wide. It is sewn together. Looks like it's machine sewn. The 3rd picture the large blue squares measure approx. 16" machine sewn. There are 3 black/white squares that also have 62 triangles that haven't been sewn together yet. There is also 2 other blue squares. Picture 4 has a long strip measures approx. 8 ft. 22" long and 5 1/2" wide. ... moreThere is some spotting on a yellow rectangle, you might be able to see it in the picture. The piece on the right is made of ties, measures approx. 25" by 10" Picuture 5 there is a nice quilted piece on top, looks like a crazy quilt, measures approx. 21 1/2" by 19" looks to hand stitched. A feast for the eyes of wonderful vintage feed sack prints on this double wedding ring cutter quilt! There are 4 larger pieces and 1 smaller piece About 15 oz of fabric I found this quilt trampled on(literally) at an estate sale and rescued it from desecration ~ and threw it in the wash.
