Vintage feedsack crib quilt hand quilted has wear 1930's era Double Nine Patch
Sweet. Vintage Double Nine Patch crib quilt from the 1930's made mostly of feed sack cotton. It measures 38 x 42" and is hand quilted Batting is thin. Backing is white cotton. Hand quilted in squares at 4 to 5"up" stitches to the inch. Most of the fabric is feedsack cotton including a cute novelty print of a mother cat and kittens. Quilt has been used and is faded. No stains. No holes all the way thru. Binding edges are worn. See one small 9 patch square where fabric has worn away to the batting and one large double nine patch square in a corner where a lot has worn to the batting- see second to last photo. Antique Vintage Crib or Youth Flower Basket Quilt from Western North Carolina NR
This is an exceptionally nice crib or youth quilt 48 x 58 inches in size. It was purchased by us at a farm estate liquidation sale about 35 years ago near Hickory. N. C. Each quadrant of the quilt, front and back is shown in photos 2 through 9. Hand stitched and comprised of fabrics that appear to be from the early 1900's and maybe feed or flour sacks.This quilt retains part of the velcro hanging system that was installed by us as well as some small weights to keep it hanging straight. They could be used to hang it again or easily removed to use it as a throw or on a bed. The background, or field, is a beige or tan fabric, not white. There are a few stains that were present when we purchased it. This has been in a smoke free, climate controlled environment both in North Carolina and now in Florida. You are bidding on a handmade vintage used appliqued baby quilt/ crib cover in the Sun Bonnet Sue pattern. The quilt measures 63 X 42 inches. The dolls are made of pastel colored prints and the applique stitching is in very good condition. The quilt pieces were put together with a white muslin material and hand stitched quilting with white thread. There are a few stains and small cuts in the muslin which I have tried to show in the pictures. I would judge this collectible item to be in very good condition for the age and considering it was used. This was my baby quilt. It is 68 years old and has been in storage for many. Many, years. Easter is early this year so I thought I had beeter put this adorable vintage buynny quilt up for sale. Plus I have this cutest 1940's bunny applique curtain valances that are just exquisite so I am listing them together! The quilt is in perfect unused condition. It is hand appliqued and hand quilted and the workmanship is exceptional. Please look at the bunnies outfits for the tiny hand embroidered detailing. It is just too sweet. Likeswise the hand quilting is perfectly executed at 10spi. Lovely flowers in each conrned and down the center frame of the quilt. Notched edging and a pastel pink backing show the quilt off to perfection. Fiber filling. So its probably a 1950's quilt, from a kit as you can see some the lght blue dots of the quilter's guide. Not a mark or spot on it, more than beautiful enough for a shower gift. The ... moreapplique valances are really lovely. Delicately hand appliqued on crisp starched muslin. Each bunny ear meets the next and these have tiny plastic hoopes for hanging. 2 valances. Each with 5 bunnies they are_ long and_ wide from the tip of the bunny ear to the hem. The hems are finsihed and they are one layer, not backed. I think besides being used as curtains there could be some other use for them-velcrow them around a clothes hamper for the baby? You are looking at a antique quilt. Beautifully made. I seems as though this is pre 1930's and hand stitched, but I am no expert, please use detail images as your guide. I have seen the 1950s Paragon kits in the past for this quilt but never one that is completed! A darling crib quilt measuring 33" x 54" The Cotton quilt is snowy white and light weight with red banding. The embroidery/ cross stitch is very well done. Antique Crib Quilt Vintage 1920's Delightfully Hand Quilted& Embridered Children& Animals A Fabulous Vintage 1920's Appliqued& Embroidered Hand Quilted- Crib Quilt* Adorable Figures of Children& Animals* Size: 46" x 60" DESCRIPTION A lovely antique crib quilt made circa 1920's. Made entirely by hand. This is an all cotton quilt with cotton batting. It was Hand Quilted. Appliqued and Embroidered in a wonderful array of colors and fabrics. The background fabric is a white cotton. Delightful hand quilting covers the entire quilt. The applique decoration is done in solid colors, tiny flower prints, stripes and calicos. A wonderful variety of finely worked embroidery stitches were used to hand applique the decorations onto the quilt. And all of the applique work is still in fine condition. The pattern is just ... moreabout as charming as can be. figures of children at play. And the beautifully executed applique work has 5 different designs. From top left to right: A little boy fishing with fishing pole and fish on a hook A little girl dressed in a pinafore with a tulip and flower and little yellow chicks A little boy& girl with stars overhead. Flowers, a bird and a castle A little girl walking a large rabbit A little boy carrying a flag. A dog, and flowers It is expertly quilted. All the quilting was worked in pink cotton. There are large swirling feather circles outlining each of the appliques. The border is scalloped and the quilting pattern repeats the shape of the scalloped edge with several lines of quilting. A flower and leaf pattern are worked in between each of the scallops. A tiny narrow border of pretty pink and blue flowered fabric was carefully appliqued onto the quilt in a large rectangular shape enclosing all the figures and the feather quilting. Additionally there is diamond quilting to the background within that rectangular border. The binding is hand applied. Made of the same tiny flowered fabric that was used for the inner rectangle. Antique Vintage Red Yellow Tan Pennsylvania Baby Crib Doll Quilt Diamond Square
Wonderful Scale Baby Quilt I rarely find these earlier baby quilts anymore. This nineteenth-century gem is a lovely size at 23" x 34" It may even be a large doll quilt? The tiny scale makes it all the more appealing. The blocks are about 2.5" x 3" There is a 1.5" border on all four sides. Finished with a quarter-inch hand-sewn red binding. It is carefully quilted, on the diagonal, at 7 stitches per inch. This is a Pennsylvania piece. With traditional colors of red, tan, and a mild yellow. I suspect they are vegetable-dyed fabrics. The colors are strong, but I am sure have faded with use and years. The back shows discoloration and mild water marks. In the corner of the backing fabric. It faintly reads, Superior English Long Cloth" Also, according to the faint letters on the backing, it evidently had a"chamois" ... morefinish, once-upon-a-time. I have not laundered this small treasure. You will find mild marks and an aged look to the once-white background fabric. For your consideration is this Vintage Estate Baby Quilt Size: 35" x 39" complete Hand Stitched no machine stitching. Also small tie balls down with yar, as due to the age, they probably never had a sewing machine. Cotton. With multi colors in the quilt, this is a crib Quilt or Doll Quilt No stains(see photos) may need washed in cold water. And hung to dry, no smell or stains. Vintage crib size quilt kit top to applique and finish
This is a piece of cotton marked for an appliqued crib quilt. Came from an Iowa estate auction. Solid color cotton for applique did not come with it so you'll have to provide it. And can pick the colors you want as well. Cotton is clean with no problems. Quilting and applique lines easy to see. Previous owner basted only one small piece on as shown Design- which is hard to show due to the color- is one of flowers and bows that cover a good deal of the fabric.
