Offered is a sweet little kitty pillow made from an awesome 1880s crazy quilt that has some amazing embroidery and hand painting.more goodies will be coming from this quilt very soon! This sweetie measures approximately 15 inches tall by about 11 inches across at the widest bottom part. It is plumped with new premium fiberfil and the back is from the backing of this same crazy quilt. The backing is a deep wine colored fabric. I believe taffeta, but maybe a heavier silk.just not sure. What makes this fabric so interesting is that it has white raised intertwining circles which appear to be painted or stenciled. This kitty proudly showcases some large white pond lilies with their green lily pads. The embroidery is detailed and lovely.there are even some gold chenille worked stamens. I've tied a black velvet ribbon around the kitty's neck and have added a beautiful butterfly pin.easily removable if you wish to wear it or give it as a gift. The butterfly's wings are Mother of Pearl encased in a gold tone metal. The dimensional eyes are white faux pearls.sweetness! ANTIQUE PRINCE'S FEATHER APPLIQUE QUILT, LATE 1800'S
I think this wonderful old quilt is from the late 1800's. The prince's feather pattern was very popular in the 1800's(supposedly named after the feather prince charles wore in his cap) This quilt has 4 big appliques of red and tan feather that radiate out from a centeral yellow design. The red is turkey red and the tan is likely a fugitive green. Where the unstable old dye just faded away over the decades. Also the thread used on the tan feathers is green so that makes it even more likely that these plumes were once green. The quilt is all hand appliqued and hand quilted with nice small stitches. there is no lifting of any of the appliques. They are well stitched down, 8-9 spi on the hand quilting, the body of the quilt is hand quilted in 1" diamonds and the feather all have two rows of quilting down their centers. Also each ... moreapplique is hand quilted all around its interior. There are four large 30" feather blocks. Out of the 16 red feathers I found only two with very small pops and that is great for the old turkey red fabric as it frequently wears thin. The last photo shows the biggest worn area which is match head sized. The quilt is backed with white cotton and has a very thin cotton batting which is still nice and flat. The white binding is machined on and it is very worn all around the quilt. Especially on the crease. But there are not any holes or soiling so overall its in very good antique condition, no stains or obvious soiling. It measures 66" x 76" and is shown on a full bed.

The border has 7/8" rod quilting and 3/4" grid quilting is thoughout the entire quilt. Over the blocks there is 1/4" double rod quilting. Very thin cotton batting with a lot of cotton seed fragments. Expertly hand quilted at 9-10 stitches per inch. Hand bound. Measures 82" x 74" This is a cutter quilt. There is spotting. Each design is hand appliqued. Using a tiny blind stitch, onto a 15" block. This is a summer quilt with no batting and minimal quilting. The quilting is done only around the outer edge of each block. Hand quilted at 7 stitches per inch. Binding was formed by folding front to back and hand stitching. Size is 64" x 76"+/ There are scattered small stains and wear along the edge. It has applique quilt squares with butterflies which are made with fabric which is from the 1920’s or earlier. It is rounded at one corner which is curious. It is otherwise squared off. This is probably a piece you will want to restore anyway since the peach colored binding has some spots and some separations. One end of the piece is oddly devoid of butterflies. All that being said. UNUSED Antique Handmadee Melon Patch Quilt Reverse Applique Diamond Border
This unusual antique Melon Patch quilt appears to be an original design. I was unable to officially identify the pattern but the colors. Shapes and quilting lines suggest it to be a 1920s interpretation of a Melon Patch. I was told the fabrics date back to the late 1800s. The top is constructed of square blocks with each having a oval set in the diagonal within that was revealed by the technique of reverse applique. The blocks are arrange by connecting ovals with the exception of the bottom corner oval block which is intentionally left crooked and commonly referred to as a vanity block. The top is well constructed with nice tight meeting points. Finished with a nice diamond border. Two fabrics were used in the top. One being a aqua/teal eccentric print and the other a cream with miniscule orange dots. From a distance the orange dotted fabric ... morereads the color peach/apricot. The fabrics used are all 100% Cotton. The overall size is 69 X 82 inches. Each block measures 9" inches square. The cotton batting is a light summer weight and evenly distributed with no signs of shifting. The backing is unbleached cotton muslin and strong. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Stitch count is 6 stitches per inch(counted top side only) The 1/2" inch full binding is hand applied. There is slight and no signs of wear. It is completely intact. CONDITION: This quilt is in excellent condition for its age. It has never been used or washed. It is free of rips. Tears and repairs. Fabrics are still pliable and show no signs of fading, thinning or weakness. Sizing is still intact. There is spotting. The biggest spot can be seen in the last photo. This spot looks to be dispersed dust from water contact. There are about 6 pea sized spots that are darker in random places over the top. They are not the darkest I have seen and they are hard to find. Pre Civil War Applique Antique Quilt, 1840's, Flower Berries Vine Pattern
This quilt is a storage find. We took this vintage applique quilt to a quilt historian in Dallas. Oregon. They believe this quilt to have been made in the 1840's. It is hand done with three rows of stitching. The"green" of the ivy/vines is totally faded away. Green fabric was not in existence and blue and yellow were mixed to make it. So there is some yellowing in the white fabric from the fading out of the original"green. The red and gold have some deterioration as shown in the pictures. It is very old. We are storing it rolled and kept wrapped in sheets. We have not washed it. This antique blanket measures approximately 90 x 68 inches. We can invoice the buyer with shipping costs. This wonderful quilt top is about 41"x 33" and has never been finished. It has some staining. But no offensive odors(just smells like clean laundry) I don't know why there is some small black pieces of fabric sewn in a couple areas on the back. There are two spots that are barely noticeable, one is an ink mark toward the bottom of the quilt, the other is a water mark toward the top, there is also a water mark on the back, and there is a shade of soiling on the edge, I didn't wash, will leave to new owner if they think it is needed. For sale is a beautiful antique appliqué rose quilt. I would date it approximately 1930s. Bright and clean! Has no holes or repairs. SPI is about 8-9. Scalloped on all sides. Measures 86 inches long and 64 inches wide. I have not washed the quilt. There is a very faint area of yellow by the bottom left corner. Applique is done very well. A beautiful heirloom quilt!

This antique quilt is pictured on a double(full-sized) bed. To give an idea of size. Measures approximately 74" x 75" Generally good condition, bright fabric, with all major flaws shown in close up, the most noticeable being the spots on the underside(they also appear on the red side, but do not detract in a major way there) Some white areas especially along edges have light grayish areas which I do not believe are dirt(see sixth photo) There is wear to the point of separation all along the binding of the piece. Antique Handmade 1800s BASKET OF FLOWERS Applique Quilt SIGNED Jamerson 1863
This lovely Basket of Flowers applique quilt is a lovely display with Rose of Sharon style flowers and buds. Signed in ink on the backside it reads Jamerson. 1863. It looks to have been cut down and rebound. Most likely to remove two damaged borders and preserve the best of the quilt. It would make a lovely display or cutter quilt. It has a nice quality feel to it and is clean with the ivory ground showing a perfect patina. The uneven fading of the fugitive colors makes for an interesting look that cannot be replicated. Still a usable quilt if you should decide to use it on a bed. The fabrics used are all 100% Cotton solid fabrics. The overall size is 62 X 78 inches. There are 12 blocks used in the making of the top. Each block measures 13" inches square and set on point. The white fabric is a nice off white cotton. The cotton batting ... moreis a medium weight and evenly distributed. The backing is made from a strong off white cotton muslin. It is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted by a very skilled quilter at 12 stitches per inch(counted both sides) with the applique work more finely stitched. The border is located on one side and measures 8" inches. The full hand applied binding measures just under 1/2" inch and looks to be reproduction fabrics and added sometime in the 60s- 70s. Binding is in excellent condition with no signs of wear or fading. CONDITION: This quilt is in good clean condition. It has fading and fabric thinning. No holes or tears and all the stitches are in place. Overall. It is a lovely piece. It looks as if it has been cleaned by someone who knew what they were doing and a job well done. There are no major stains or spots to be concerned about. There is no odor to this quilt and it does not appear to have been exposed to insects. Smoke, pets or abuse. Kind of primitive and funky at the same time, definitely one of a kind. The colorful tulips are made of felt pieces that are appliqued onto blocks of mostly wool, some velvet. The applique stitching is done with black thread, which makes a great contrast to the brightness of the flowers. The blocks are hand embroidered together crazy quilt style, using a variety of brightly colored threads. A long strip of red corduroy runs down two sides. The backing is the same red fabric used for the ruffle. The batting, which is a thin layer of cotton blanket or something similar, was sewn to the backing before the backing was applied. There's no quilting, just ... morea few places that are hand tied. All blocks have the tulips on them except for one. Which you can find on the lower bottom right of the full quilt picture. Superstition block, maybe? Size is 64" x 66"+/ This has been used lightly if at all. I don't see any noticeable flaws. Nothing to detract from it. The bear is made from multiple layers of plush felt. Giving it nice depth and dimension. He has a hand-stitched face. Button eyes, and one arm hinged with a button that is movable. This antique quilt features appliqued birds. Tulips, baskets, cherries and berries. 1/8" double rod quilting up to 1 1/2" grid quilting that covers the entire quilt. Red tulips. Red cherries and blueberries, and tan stems. Treadle machine bound in red. Expertly hand quilted at 11 stitches per inch. Hand appliqued and hand embroidered accents on the birds. Quilted on one corner is"ES" and inside one of the baskets is"1881" There are 11 red berries. 265 blue berries, and 9 loose stems that fell off because the thread dissolved when it was soaked. Antique Red and White Applique Tulip Quilt
14.00 Here is a wonderful hand sewn applique quilt with scalloped border. So many tiny stitches went in to the quilting and applique of this lovely old quilt. There are forty eight red tulips on tan stems against a white background. In groups of three per stem. Seventeen of the tulips or stem have some wear or shredding to the fabric. Some is fairly minor and some more apparent. The background appears to have fared well with several small holes to the top of the quilt seen in one area. Most of the background is in good condition, as is the backing. There is one good sized pale discoloration or area of soiling, which looks like yellowing or browning. There is also one area of binding which needs to be re sewn. I would not consider this quilt to be a cutter, however it could benefit from a little T.L.C. A great deal of craftsmanship went into this hand stitched Applique Quilt. It is entirely hand sewn. This quilt measures app. 66" wide by 78" long. Every single piece of the quilt looks like beautiful work of art. The colors include various shades of pink. Green and red. The stitching is white. It is from a nonsmoking home. SEED FRAGMENTS, NO FADING,COLORS BRIGHT AND RICH, 20 URNS WITH LARGE VINE BORDER(BINDING SAME GREEN FABRIC AND HAS TURNED EVER SO SLIGHTLY TO A LIGHTER SHADE IN SOME AREAS. UNUSUAL QUILTED URNS WITH WREATHS ON TOP FILL THE ALTERNATE BLOCKS.SIDE SETTING TRIANGLES HAVE A WREATH THAT SEEM TO BE RESTING ON A PEDISTAL, AS WELL AS TRIPLE ROD QUILTING THRU OUT. BACK DOES HAVE A LONG DIRT/AGE LINE DOWN THE MIDDLE AS WELL AS SOIL/AGE SPOTS THRU OUT VERY LITTLE WEAR. A FEW OF THE RED SECTIONS HAVE A TOUCH OF WEAR.YOU CAN SEE IN PHOTOS SEE LOWER LEFT CORNER ... moreOF QUILT. HAS AGE/TONING, POSSIBLY SMALL WATER SPOT. ALSO A HAND PRINT SIZE SPOT NEAR BORDER. IN SAME CORNER. IT DOES GO THRU TO BACK, POSSIBLY AGE/DIRT, NOT SURE THIS SPOT HAS BEEN SHOWN IN A FEW PICTURES.BE SURE TO ZOOM IN.THERE IS A SMALL SNAG/ SPLIT NEAR THAT SPOT CAN BE STITCHED THIS QUILT IS TRUELY IN REMARKABLE CONDITION.VERY RARELY DO WE FIND ONE THIS NICE,EVERYTHING I'VE MENTIONED IS MINOR. THERE IS LIGHT WEAR TO A FEW OF THE RED PIECES. IF YOU ZOOM IN YOU CAN SEE. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF PIECES THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO REPLACE AND A COUPLE THAT ARE IFFY.THE OTHER WEAR IS TINY. BLOCKS ARE APPROXIMATELY 11" TO 12" MOST OF THE WEAR IS MINOR AND NOT NOTICEABLE. WHILE LOOKING AT THE QUILT LAYING ON THE BED YOU DON'T NOTICE WEAR.
