The backside is all white. It has a few dark browning spots. Some yellowing at one edge and one small hole that does not go through to the front. I did not try to clean or treat the quilt so the spots might be able to be taken out. This is a super nice quilt and very old. It is fresh from a local estate. This is a 1930's feedsack fabric quilt tumbling block pattern. There are three areas open on the top that shows pattern fabric inside as well as batting. One block towards the center needs the fabric stitched down. There are a couple of blocks by one corner that had pins in them holding them in place to be sewn down. I removed the pins for safety purposes. This is also hand tied. It has a blue fabric back that is machine stitched. The blocks do appear to be be hand stitched. There are 7 stitches per inch. Up for Auction is a Beautiful Antique Hand Stitched Double Wedding Ring Quilt.This belongs to my Aunt.She is in her 90's and collected antiques for many yrs.I will describe this the best I can,I do believe that this was made from Feedsacks.It is approx.80"by 84" in size,there is a slight scallop border.I do not see any tears or rips,I do see two small stains which I took a pitcture of and some threads that have frayed around the edge.This has been used and washed through the yrs.it is so soft and cudly the best Quilt to get under on a cold night.The back material is a pale yellow and the top of the quilt is a antique white.I am not sure of the age.This comes from a smoke free home and it has been stored away for many yrs.No odors,nice and clean.I am not real familiar with Quilts so please let the pictures speak for themselves.If ... moreanyone has any information for me to add about the age or material, please let me know and I will add it to my write up.

This quilt is in VERY nice condition for it's age! It must have been stored very well for years because it shows only minor signs of wear- and those signs are all on the reverse of the blanket. Some sun damage(faded lines where it was folded) and a couple of minors stain is most of the evident wear. The front is immaculate- no staining. No rips and no tears/holes. Really in GREAT shape- heirloom worthy piece! The colors of the piece are vibrant- there are lots of bright velvets and some satin. Plenty of fancy stitching. There is written"1893" in stitching on one little panel. Plenty of names of people who contributed to the quilt. Smallest square is about 7.5 x 7.5 inches, largest is over 9 x 9 inches. There are fourteen squares and a stray center piece. All are hand pieced and hand stitched. Some of the indigo fabrics look like Stifel but there are no"boots" to be seen on the reverse. Most fabrics are early twentieth or late nineteenth century. It measures 82” by 80” The quilt is in good shape for its age. It does have some wear to the edges that could be rebound and three flower octagon blocks have some wear/damage. The backside is all white. It has a few dark browning spots. Some yellowing at one edge and one small hole that does not go through to the front. I did not try to clean or treat the quilt so the spots might be able to be taken out. This is a super nice quilt and very old. It is fresh from a local estate. TSome of the peachy orange is faded. There are a few small areas where the edge is loose or partly off and a few spots on the one black and a spot on the cream back. All seen in the photos. Up for auction is this lovely vintage 8 point star quilt top. Hand stitched. Each star is made from 8 triangle shaped quilt pieces. There are 28 full stars and 2 partial stars on each end. Stars are very pretty-nice made with good points-some puckering. Bright red sashing. There is some puckering along one of the red seams-pic#8. This lovely quilt is pieces together from old feed sacks- circa 1940s- pretty rose and pink patterns- together make a block pattern quilt. Very"shabby chic" or"cottage" colors and style. The quilt measures 74 inches by 82 inches. Drapes nicely on a full or queen size bed- using a dust ruffle. Beautiful pink striped border with scroll quilting- see Photos 5 and 6 for detail. Vintage Hand Stitched 9 Patch Quilt Top Make a Quilt or Use for Craft& Christmas Projects Age and quilter are unknown Quilt Top is hand pieced quilt with large squares being machine sewn to gray. I believe the majority of the 9 patch squares are feedsack with some shirting and assorted cottons. Now some of the feedsack looks really old- like the darker reds and some navy. App 80" x 68" squares measure just over 3x3 with full 9 patch square at app 10x10 I held the top up to the sunlight to search for holes and found none! There are some strings here and there that look like wrinkles in the quilt top but the wind made it so hard to get smooth photos. There is some age staining but I didn't laundered the top& it has no odor The last photo should show the back of the quilt with some hangover from the clothesline. Vintage Hand Stitched Crazy Quilt Full Size 1930s 1940s
Vintage Hand Stitched Crazy Quilt- 1930s/ 1940s Size is app. 78" x 68" This vintage crazy quilt has a lovely combination of fabric prints. The interesting thing about the fabrics is that they are mostly silky satiny dress fabrics. They looks like they are from the 40's or maybe late 30s. You can just see the dresses and the hairdos swinging on the dance floor. At first glance they will look like very nice hard to find feedsack prints. But they aren't. I don't think there is a cotton in the bunch. I suspect that the fabrics are mostly rayon or a cotton blend. This is just the type of quilt that I would have kept for the guest room. A little laundering is all I'd do until it was more worn out then it would be a family heritage cutter quilt. Know what I mean- A couple of pillows and matching dresser scarf and wall quilt. ... moreIt's not worn enough to be a cutter unless you are one that can go thru with it. And it's not"perfect" or"new" enough to be in"great" condition. One of those in between so that just leaves it to personal taste. I haven't laundered this quilt- it is just as I found it. Besides the gorgeous prints it has a nice pink colored backing and it is also batted but I don't know with what. The quilt is tied in black. As you can see in the photos some edges may have some wear. The quilt could use a light cleaning. There are spots here and there that need laundering but mostly around the edges. It looks like Charlie Brown's friend Linus may have dragged this puppy a bit. The type of soiling is like off a living room wooden floor. There are spots here and there that have aged and may have some toning. You may need to do just a bit of restitching on a seam or two. Very well made in in fantastic condition. soft subtle blue and white, there is some fading here and there but no significant damage at all, I found a few missed stitches and an ink stain on the underside that shows v ery little on the top side. Quilt has thin batting with mild separation but it is not lumpy, quilt is clean from a pet and smoke free estate, I have not laundered it and there are 2 light spots that should soak out with a little oxy. 1930s or 40s hand stitched quilt-patchwork circles in squares
I show this quilt on a full size bed. It must have taken months to put this one together-quite old-owner says from the 1930s. To good to be a cutter-edges are rough-so could be re-edged or made into a twin bed quilt. The few stains are on the backside-found one place where a stain shows thru to the front(last picture)not bad at all though. The hand stitching is quite nice and the colors are still bright. Vintage 91" x 91" hand stitched sunflower quilt
Here is a large 91" x 91" hand-stitched such flower pattern quilt. Colors are much brighter than what I was able to photograph. This is a very beautiful and large hand sewn quilt. I always try to describe every item to the best of my ability and by no means want to downplay the beauty of this quilt. This is an estate item and I have not washed it since it came out the box because I did not want to ruin it by not knowing how to do this correctly. It does has a couple dark stains on the back and some faded looking discolored large stains on the back. I have tried to photograph this well so that you can judge the condition for yourself. There are 3 tears or areas where the stitching has come undone around the edges but I don't believe this would be that difficult to fix. As far as the front side. The quilt is absolutely gorgeous. ... moreI love the symmetry of the designs and the wonderful even hand stitching! The only thing I would point out(which I have also photographed) are the areas that need a little tlc such as maybe a clothes brush to remove the access"knotted" material which is probably a result of age. Once again, I have not attempted to wash the quilt and am selling it"as is" out of the estate box. I would however say that it is in overall nice condition just in need of a little tlc. It is a huge and absolutely stunning quilt to that will complement that one special room decor and I believe a treasure to that right bidder. This lovely oldie does not have any rips. Shattering or tears. I did find one spot that appears to be a color transfer near binding( shown in pictures ~ red transfer of color) Only machine work is the binding that was attached by treadle and then turned over and stitched by hand.
