But this belonged to my great-grandmother who was born in 1867 but I don't know when she made it or acquired it. Approximate Measurements: 92" x 70" The pillow cover measures 15" by 15" This is a beautiful vintage handstitched quilt with a hexagon honeycomb pattern. This handmade folk art quilt has over 6000 multi-colored hexagon pieces. The variety in the different flowers is amazing. So many different flower patterns and colors expertly put together. This beautiful piece has to be seen to get the true appearance much better than pictures show due to lighting conditions. It features a lovely collection of vintage fabrics. Some feed sack I think. The cotton batting is light weight and evenly distributed. Each hexagon measures 1 inch wide. The hexagons on the pillow are 3/4 inches wide. There are about 260 hexagons on the pillow case. The quality is very good with very light wear. The edge around the quilt has frayed. I showed the most extreme fraying in a picture. There are also two light purple pen marks, one of which bled through, also shown in pictures but hard to find when you are just looking at the quilt as a whole.

The back is folded over the front and sewn to make an edging. Overall it is in quite good condition for its age. I counted about 4 places on the quilt that had a small amount of wear or damage. I showed two of these areas in pictures 8 and 9. So this quilt is NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION and I am selling it in as is condition. The quilt is quite heavy weighing just under 5 pounds alone. Vintage Antique Log Cabin Quilt Hand Pieced Beautiful Colors
Here we have a beautiful log cabin quilt with wonderful colors and a stunning pattern. I think the it dates to the teens or twenties. The fabrics are all light weight wools and cotton prints. It measures app. 80" x 82" overall. The pieces are all hand sewn and it has not been top quilted. The backing is a great paisley print and it feels like there is no batting inside. There are several tiny holes throughout the quilt. I have photographed the worst damage. The quilt is still vis ually stunning. The s titch ing is strong and it is holding together well. ANTIQUE VINTAGE GARDEN WINDOW SOFT FROSTY WHITE QUILT
This interesting quilt looks like a frosty window pane! It and has medium weight batting so the quilting really stands out! It is about 62" x 77" The border blocks have some wear as seen in pictures, back of quilt is white, all cotton, machine pieced and hand quilted at about 8 stitches per inch, but looks like more since they create an deeper and interesting textured design. There is only ONE noticeable stain on the front, see closer picture with penny, I didn't try to wash since overall is super nice and clean, no odors. The main issue with this charming quilt are the light stains throughout. These are not all that obvious when first looking at quilt. There are several smaller darker stains. See pictures. But there are light stains on front and back. Therefore I am starting this one out at a cutter price due to the stains. Lots of character and a sweet vintage quilt!

It measures Approx 78" X 89" and is in Very Good condition. A few small, light stains. I have not tried to clean it. Smells nice and clean. The quilting is SUPERB. With quilting around the perimeter of each piece and in grid and deco/floral designs in the background, all at an even 10 stitches to the inch. The back and hand stitched binding are solid Whit e. This is an antique baby quilt with a sort of 8 point star design. It is 29" by 38" and is string tied. Because it is string tied rather than quilted to the back it is lumpy and a little out of shape. Other than that it is in pretty good condition with one small 1" open seam. It has not been cleaned and has general soiling and a light stain. Antique Early Century Friendship QUILT ~Primitive Handsewn~Vintage Feedsack~#4 While"treasure hunting" we found some very old trunks filled with quilts and quilt tops. The QUILTS are early 20th century. Probably 1920s through 1940s. They are made of vintage fabric, from old clothes, suits, dresses, shirts, and feedsack prints and solids, made in a time when we were not a"throw-away" society. The quilts had been well-used by the owners and were dirty and odorous, and obviously had been stored for many years. The QUILTS have all been laundered and clothesline-dried. They smell fresh now. And I have a smoke free home. The condition of each varies, but considering these were used everyday they show signs of wear: tears, shredding of squares, stains, and batting coming out of holes. I just discovered this friendship quilt at an estate sale in Northeast PA. When I first saw it across the room. I thought how well it displayed, how warm and coastal living the colors of blues and reds were and the true folkart quality of it with all the children's names. Measures 64 by 76 inches, perfect for a double bed and great overhang for a twin. Since I can't unfortunately sew a button, I would say it is machine stitched because the stitches are very even. The children's names are hand done in an embroidery style. Displays extremely well over a railing or hung on a wall. The boats remind one of the ocean and also of pond boats. I can not see any stains or tears. It is soft cotton muslin material and has been washed I believe. They are made of vintage fabric, from old clothes, suits, dresses, shirts, and feedsack prints and solids, made in a time when we were not a"throw-away" society. The quilts had been well-used by the owners and were dirty and odorous, and obviously had been stored for many years. The QUILTS have all been laundered and clothesline-dried. They smell fresh now. And I have a smoke free home. The condition of each varies, but considering these were used everyday they show signs of wear: tears, shredding of squares, stains, and batting coming out of holes. Here are 3 old cast iron C clamps. The main C body of each clamp is about 4 1/4 inches long. These were used on quilting frames. And t he top of the screw has a pivoting cap that helps secure the work. They are marked Made in USA. These clamps are in good condition without breaks or repairs. We are not sure if the the black finish is original or if they have been repain ted as some point. The finish is missing in spots around the edges. These antique clamps have a great look that makes them a simple but fancy way to clamp things together. They are great for temporary displays. For example. At antique shows we use similar clamps to secure Industrial task lights to a table or desk.

Miss the old version of this page? everything on one long page. vmgae. His pastel Morning Glory appliqué quilt probably dates to about the 1920's or 1930's. It's a quiet little masterpiece of pitch-perfect. Soothing colors, elegant, completely balanced layout, startlingly fine, expert hand-quilting and impressively consistent, controlled hand-appliqué. The graceful overall design is confident and elegant with appealing repeats of such motifs as the little mounds that decorate the softly scalloped perimeter; these appear oh so subtly as a tiny element of the quilting right at the quilt's very center. There's so much to love about this quilt. Including its crisp condition. I note just a single very faint section of surface staining standing between it and perfection. Size The quilt measures about 74 x 90 inches. ... moreThe vines are just over 1/4 inch wide and the blossoms are 4 1/2 to 5 inches at their widest. Quilting The hand-quilting is masterful. With 9-11 little stitches to the inch. Counting on the top side of the quilt only. That diagonal square gridding within the rings of blossoms is a scant 1-inch square. Then the oversized square gridding out at the edges is scaled nearly 2 inches square. In between these of course there's a whole world of brilliant rays, intricate outlines, swirling tendrils, echo Morning Glories, leaves and vines, etc. This is all show in the closeup images. Construction The appliqué stitching is outstandingly dense and tiny. Backing. Binding& Batting The backing is crisp. Strong, solid white sheeting in perfect condition. The pretty little bias binding is machine-stitched invisibly to the front. Rolled and hand-stitched tight on the reverse. It's just over 1/4-inch wide and entirely perfect. The batting is super thin and even with just the most minor thinning within those channels of quilting in places. Condition The quilt's condition is truly excellent: strong. Sturdy, crisp and clean. VINTAGE ANTIQUE 30s T SQUARE FEED SACK QUILT to start a new paragraph use- Circa 1930 T Square or Four T's quilt. Made with feedsack and other pieces from the quilters bag. T's are set against a yellow ground, backing and binding are green. This is all cotton with a thin cotton batting. It's hand quilted at 8 stitches per inch with hand stitched binding. The border is made up of pieced 2" x 2 1/4" blocks in a variety of prints. Then a 2" strip of yellow. Everything inside of the blocks is in very good condition. Some of the blocks need to be replaced and the corners and binding are very worn. You could replace the yellow strip and binding or you could cut off most of the strip and apply new binding. Vintage Antique Quilt - Very Old - White with Fan Pattern
Very old quilt. Not sure how you can tell the age. It was bought at an estate sale. It measures 62in. by 63 1/2in. The quilt does need repaired in some certain places. One particular color patch did not hold up as well as the rest almost every one is ripped or tore. Also there are some stains. We have not attempted to clean the spots. The last 4 pictures show the ripping in the patch. Also in pic 3 and 4 we attemped to show some of the stains. Kinda hard to see but they are there.

A large variety of stunning novelty prints make a wonderful combination. Fabulous piece of textile. Simply gorgeous! Measures 80 x 64 and hand-quilted. There is some wear here and there throughout. Some shattered patches of the silk and satin fabric. And the wear is mainly on the stars around the edge of quilt. See pics for examples. None of these go through to the back. However. You have to really look closely to see them as they blend right in! And several small age related stains. Otherwise, this beauty is in good condition for an antique quilt! Up fo r auction is this wonderful Vintage/Antique hand stitched/handmade quilt. The quilt is done in the grandmother’s flower garden pattern. It measures 82” by 80” The quilt is in good shape for its age. It does have some wear to the edges that could be rebound and three flower octagon blocks have some wear/damage. The backside is all white. It has a few dark browning spots. Some yellowing at one edge and one small hole that does not go through to the front. I did not try to clean or treat the quilt so the spots might be able to be taken out. This is a super nice quilt and very old. It is fresh from a local estate. 60"x64" I am not an expert on quilts but this looks all hand pieced. There are a few small tears that are shown. I Would fix them but I don't want to ruin it. The tears are along the seams. This is a darling antique 9-patch baby or child's quilt. It appears to have been machine-quilted. Although the quilt is clearly old and made from vintage fabrics. I tried to take some up-close photos of the quilting so the stitching is more visible. The binding appears to be hand-sewed. The front and back are both made from old feed sacks. This would make a great cutter quilt with its great baby colors and vintage fabrics. I had someone knowledgeable look at it and she believed that it does look hand-pieced. If you are curious about this. I would be glad to take additional photos. There are some minor condition issues. The most significant is an area shown in the second photo. Which has a combination of rust stains and tiny holes. Then I found a small tear, shown in the third photo, and then a section that looks scraped where some of ... morethe stitching has been severed and there are some tiny holes, shown in the fourth photo. The fifth and sixth photos show the backing. The backing does not appear to have any holes, but it does have some yellow discolorations, as the photo shows. I have not tried washing this quilt and those discolorations might be removable. There is a tiny strip of fading down the middle of the quilt and a few small areas where the stitching is coming loose. The remainder of the photos show some up-close detail of the fabrics and stitching. One of the photos shows some of the fading down the middle. The size of the quilt is 40 1/4" wide and 47 1/2" long. This wonderful primitive quilt is a beautiful piece of folk art! It has medium thick batting. All cotton fabrics that date to 100 years ago or more, and is completely hand stitched! It is about 66" x 82" back is a tiny black and white plaid, it is in overall excellent condition, very well cared for. The orange block has some thinning splits, not sure if this is homespun fabric, and there is a tiny hole near the corner on the back side only, these are the only flaws I could find, again, it is in excellent condition with cotton batting, tiny even hand stitching and quilting, quilting pattern was done in a rainbow or curved line design with rows about 3/4" apart. Antique Vintage Handmade One of a Kind Doll Quilt Very Nice! 17 ½ x 23”
Up for auction is a very old. Very interesting handmade doll quilt. The more I look at the fabric pieces, the more I love this quilt! The pattern is traditional, but the fabric pieces are quite special. I’ve taken a lot of photos so you can see for yourself. This cheerful quilt is trimmed in a tiny pink polka dot edging. This lovely doll quilt came from an old country farmhouse in the Northeast and has been stored for many years in a pet-free, smoke-free home. Condition: Very good condition for its age. Vintage Cotton TEXAS STAR of BETHLEHEM Coverlet Quilt Blanket Pink Antique Woven
This beautiful vintage woven coverlet from the 1930s has been in hiding for a very long time and needs to be seen. Formerly held in a collection and kept in ideal storage conditions this one emerges in superb vintage condition. Nice and clean with the exception of one spot that can be seen in the last photo. Nothing to stop you from enjoying this one. The striking pattern is full of tiny little details that make it most appealing to the eye. The paper tag on one corner is a sale tag from long ago. This coverlet has no sign of a makers tag. The overall size is 78 X 94 inches. This is a very well made and light weight cotton coverlet. Hard to tell which side is the best as it views nicely on both sides. The scalloped border is nicely finished with a square knot type stitched edge. Fine design detailing in the pattern. CONDITION: Just a few ... morethread pulls that are hard to fnd and one spot that looks removable on one corner to worry about. Otherwise. It is in great condition and very soft and strong. Up for auction is a very old doll quilt made of flannel or flannelette. I can just picture a mother fashioning this 14 ½ X 20 inch quilt for her little girl’s doll out of left-over flannel. One side is one whole piece of fabric and the other side is pieced in 5 sections. It is hand tied with coral colored floss. I have taken pictures indoors and out. In natural light to try to give you a true color. The background is gray with a cream print, which actually looks more ecru than cream. There are some age"shadows" more than spots, which some people say gives age character) but they are not pronounced as the print is more of an ecru color than what shows in the photos. VINTAGE/ANTIQUE RED WHITE & BLUE PATCHWORK QUILT- 62"x80" - HANDMADE in MISSOURI
This is an auction for a VINTAGE/ANTIQUE RED WHITE& BLUE PATCHWORK QUILT- 62"x80" HANDMADE in MISSOURI. The majority of the 3 1/2" finished blocks are made of vintage cotton fabrics mainly red. White, blue in color- but there are a few blocks of greens, yellows. browns also in the quilt. The backing& edging are done in white cotton and the filling appears to be a white flannel(lightweight) The quilt is EXTREMELY OLD. Although I do not know the exact date of when it was made. It was my grandmother-in-law's quilt and she was born in 1901. My husband remembers her having this quilt& just knows that it something that she made. And obviously lovingly used. She lived her entire life in the"Lead Belt" area of the state of Missouri, south of St. Louis. This quilt is completely hand quilted. But finished in ... morea machine stitched binding. The quilt is NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION. There are some stains. Some tears& rips, some missing binding on the edges. The back side is not in as good of condition as the front side. As some of the back fabric is well- worn and has deteriorated. I'm guessing that is why there appears to be an 8 1/2" binding( on one end of the quilt- maybe to reinforce the back side where the fabric was damaged. But why she would also put it across the front side I don't understand. Maybe it was meant to designate the head of the bed where the pillows were to lie on top. I'm not sure- the quilt blocks underneath that strip do not appear to be damaged. A mystery that will never be solved, as Grandma died years ago, before I had the quilt and could ask questions from her. There are no musty smells and it has always been in pet-free. Smoke-free homes. Check the pictures carefully to see where I have tried to picture some of the damages. I have not made any attempt to repair or clean it. I have never displayed nor used the quilt in any manner since I've had it following Grandma's death. It has simply been packed away in my home. If you are not inte

Vintage Nine Patch quilt. 66" x 81" in size. Hand quilted and hand pieced. The front has nine patch blocks in prints and solids. They are surrounded by sashings and posts in different colors. The backside is light blue and folds over to the front to make the binding. The backside has a torn place by one edge as the picture shows and a few other small tears. The batting is lumpy some here and there but the quilt lays good and flat. The front is knit fabric. The back is cotton. Bright and colorful.

This is an exceptionally nice crib or youth quilt 48 x 58 inches in size. It was purchased by us at a farm estate liquidation sale about 35 years ago near Hickory. N. C. Each quadrant of the quilt, front and back is shown in photos 2 through 9. Hand stitched and comprised of fabrics that appear to be from the early 1900's and maybe feed or flour sacks.This quilt retains part of the velcro hanging system that was installed by us as well as some small weights to keep it hanging straight. They could be used to hang it again or easily removed to use it as a throw or on a bed. The background, or field, is a beige or tan fabric, not white. There are a few stains that were present when we purchased it. This has been in a smoke free, climate controlled environment both in North Carolina and now in Florida. Vintage 30's Marie Webster"Gay Garden" Applique Antique Quilt ~DENSE QUILTING! This OUTSTANDING cotton 30's floral quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted. With a slight variation(four or five flower petals, instead of the usual 3) on Marie Webster's pattern, Gay Garden. It measures a generous 82" X 94" and is in EXCELLENT. UNUSED condition, with no spots or wear. The quilting is SUPERB. With quilting around and within the applique and in straight line, cable, and feathered wreath designs in the background, all at an even 9-10 stitches to the inch with faint pencil marks still visible in places. The back is white. The hand stitched binding is the same solid blue used in the interior, and the batting is thin. High quality solid cotton materials are used throughout. The WONDERFUL COLORS. Antique LOG CABIN BLOCK Vintage Quilt ~ Sunshine and Shadows ~ This antique Log Cabin quilt is such a neat one with the white sunshine running through! Design is full of lots of vibrant colors. An large assortment of beautiful feed sacks and 1930's cotton prints make an outstanding combination together. The back is a nice floral"cheater" and has been brought to the front for the binding. Lots of small pieces of fabric went into the making of this one. Measures 76" x 66" Hand- quilted. The main issue with this one is the tear at edge of quilt. It measures about 5" Nothing that cannot be easily mended. And hardly noticeable with it being at edge of quilt. And several popped seams. Also, some light stains scattered here and there. Still in great antique vintage condition! Please keep in mind that these are vintage ... moreand antique quilts. So there may be some small loose seams and some age related stains. I try to report as much of this in my descriptions as I can, but may at times not see every little thing. Lots of history and charm in these old quilts.
