This interesting quilt looks like a frosty window pane! It and has medium weight batting so the quilting really stands out! It is about 62" x 77" The border blocks have some wear as seen in pictures, back of quilt is white, all cotton, machine pieced and hand quilted at about 8 stitches per inch, but looks like more since they create an deeper and interesting textured design. Antique Hand Made Red White Quilt 64x82" 1920's As Is
I have for auction a wonderful old quilt from the early 1900'3. It displays an interesting pattern all done in bright red on white; stitching on this quilt is superb; measures approx. 82x64" it is very worn but still lovely. Came to me along with the old red camp blanket I have presently on Ebay. Red must have been a favorite color in that household. It would have taken months to accomplish all of the hand stitching on this quilt; for its age it is still in reasonable condition although it is very worn down to the batting; nevertheless an interesting old piece of the conniseur of quilts or the collector. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO FADING ON THE QUILT ~ IN SOME OF PICS IT LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF FADING BUT IT'S IN MY DIGITAL. A white-out. GUARANTEED. ALSO. WHAT YOU SEE PEEKING OUT ALONG SIDE OF QUILT IS FRINGE ON A RUG THAT WAS UNDERNEATH THE QUILT. Fab T-Square(T is for temperance ~ women didn't have a voice in the 1880's but could sure speak out in their handwork) antique quilt, 68" square(perfect for hanging or for a twin bed or back of a chair, etc. from Spartanburg County, S.C. all the bells and whistles of a Southern textile village"Sunday best" quilt right down to the stitching, which is in the Southern traditional"ocean waves. In favored red and white calicos, all by hand, 2 interesting little cutout appliques in the sashing. Binding is in plaid fabric(Alamance Plaid? and there are several little"nips" ... moreor"bites" in the binding, not really noticeable unless you're looking for them- in one of the pics you'll see one I'm holding. Quilt is all cotton, all by hand. Backing is a tiny black or deep navy and white check, it's hard to tell which; and there is a very small fragile place not far off center in back that has"rubbed" away, showing us the wonderful cotton from the fields that was used for batting. On front I found 2 tannish small stains(see pics) ~ backing has several tannish stains which I couldn't pick up on the digital ~ all of the above I'm 99% sure could be removed with a good soaking in the proper product or, if you choose not to, hardly noticeable because of the graphic nature of the quilt. And that, my friends, tells what I know of the story of this so-graphic and beautiful piece of Southern folk art. Up for sale is a vintage Drunkard's Path Quilt. It is in fair to good condition. The edges do show significant wear as seen in the photos. This might easily be fixed with adding a border around the quilt to make it bigger. The dimensions are 65 x 76 and it is hand stitched all around/inside the blocks. The quiltmanship is very good. This is just an old quilt that I estimate to be 1950s. It may be older. It came from a very old estate. Antique Early 1900s GOOSE IN THE POND Quilt Great Condition Claret White
This great antique Goose in the Pond quilt is from the very early 1900s. It is unusual to find one in the color claret and the color is radiant and difficult to convey in a photograph. It is really beautiful to see in person as the changes in light show the different tones. It reminds me of looking through a glass of burgundy wine. It has a nice floppy and supple body to it and in good clean condition. This one is in good clean condition and has been very well cared for and stored. The fabrics used are all 100% Cotton. The overall size is 79" X 79" inches square. The top is entirely hand pieced in a two pattern optical design and features a square in square pattern where the blocks meet and postage stamped checkerboard pieces measuring 3/4" inches square. The cotton batting is very thin and evenly distributed throughout the entire quilt with the exception of the area behind the 2" inch border which has some shifting in places. The off-white backing is a light weight cotton muslin with a loose weave. It is hand pieced and hand quilted with a series of large triple rope patterns that run over the top of the quilt in straight vertical lines. Stitch count is 6 stitches per inch(counted top side only) The pink 1/2" inch binding is brought forward from the backing and hand applied to the front. Binding is completely intact with no signs of wear. CONDITION: This quilt is in excellent condition. The only exception being the fading on the lower left corner. The fading is isolated to this area and most likely due to prolonged sun exposure. The rest of the quilt in rich in color and unfaded. The backing has collected some dust and shows a very faint and hard to see imprint of the block color. One light spot on the surface that does not look permanent and looks darker in the photos. Each design is hand appliqued. Using a tiny blind stitch, onto a 15" block. This is a summer quilt with no batting and minimal quilting. The quilting is done only around the outer edge of each block. Hand quilted at 7 stitches per inch. Binding was formed by folding front to back and hand stitching. Size is 64" x 76"+/ There are scattered small stains and wear along the edge. Lavender purple and white starburst antique handsewn quilt
This is a beautiful lavender and white. Light weight, handsewn antique quilt. I believe the pattern on the quilt is called starburst. It is in beautiful shape with no worn places. The fan and feather quilting is wonderful with at least eight stitches per inch. It is 74" x 72" The reverse is shown in photo eight. There is one small stitching repair which is shown in photo five. Also it has one small place with a stain on the edge of the quilt shown in photo six, with close up on photo seven. This quilt is a true work of art. Lushly quilted Indigo Blue & White FEATHERED STAR CUTTER antique quilt 8-9spi
Miss the old version of this page? everything on one long page. vfsce. Hat a beautifully made quilt this Feathered Star was. Alas. Its red print must have had a black or brown element that neatly disintegrated away over time, leaving heavily weakened fabric and exposing the batting so that it pilled and clumped where unprotected. Some 18 beautifully quilted open white blocks remain and there's still a strangely strong graphic appeal to the intact quilt as-is. so maybe you have the perfect next stage for its checkered life? I would imagine this dates to the last quarter of the 1800's. Size The quilt measures about 72 x 74 inches. The blocks are about 12 inches square and the tiny half-square triangles are only 3/4-inch square. Quilting The hand-quilting is lovely. With 8-9 little stitches to the inch. Counting on the top side of the ... morequilt only. Construction The blocks are tightly hand-pieced and I think the long seams are by hand as well. Backing. Binding& Batting The white backing is clean and bright but has about 8 blocks where damage on the front shows through as clusters of small through-holes on the reverse. The sweet little hand-applied indigo binding along two sides gives way to a machine-applied black gingham along the other two. But both bindings are heavily worn and frayed along the edges. Please note that some of the binding appears missing in the overall picture. But that's just my sloppy editing. It's there all the way around. The batting is super thin and even. Though I do find some flat spots and of course there are losses in the centers of the blocks where fabric has worn away. Condition The quilt's condition is strong and clean. But clearly very compromised thanks to that red wearing away and the resulting damage to batting. Although there's heavy wear and through-holes in the star blocks, I find very little damage to the beautifully quilted open white blocks. I only detect minor surface wear, snagging etc. on four of them. I note some minor staining which is pictured.

Antique Baby Quilt for Girl, White w/Pink, late 1800's
This is a white baby quilt(44" W x 60" H) from the late 1800's(it was my grandmother's. No exact date) It is lightweight(no batting, just several layers quilted together) white fabric(very smooth cotton) with pink embroidered decorations in each square, and the name"Mary Elizabeth" in the center. The decorations are flowers, birds, and activities(a little sailboat) The quilt is entirely handmade with no snags or tears and has been kept in a smoke-free, pet-free setting, mainly stored away from light, dust, moisture, etc. for years. There are some slight discolorations on the quilt and it is a bit off-white from being so old. I have not attempted to clean these spots out; I feel fairly certain a good cleaning would make it much brighter. This quilt is beautiful and in great condition. I simply have no use for it ... moreand would rather it go to an appreciative home.

Vintage Antique Quilt - Very Old - White with Fan Pattern
Very old quilt. Not sure how you can tell the age. It was bought at an estate sale. It measures 62in. by 63 1/2in. The quilt does need repaired in some certain places. One particular color patch did not hold up as well as the rest almost every one is ripped or tore. Also there are some stains. We have not attempted to clean the spots. The last 4 pictures show the ripping in the patch. Also in pic 3 and 4 we attemped to show some of the stains. Kinda hard to see but they are there.

This is an auction for a VINTAGE/ANTIQUE RED WHITE& BLUE PATCHWORK QUILT- 62"x80" HANDMADE in MISSOURI. The majority of the 3 1/2" finished blocks are made of vintage cotton fabrics mainly red. White, blue in color- but there are a few blocks of greens, yellows. browns also in the quilt. The backing& edging are done in white cotton and the filling appears to be a white flannel(lightweight) The quilt is EXTREMELY OLD. Although I do not know the exact date of when it was made. It was my grandmother-in-law's quilt and she was born in 1901. My husband remembers her having this quilt& just knows that it something that she made. And obviously lovingly used. She lived her entire life in the"Lead Belt" area of the state of Missouri, south of St. Louis. This quilt is completely hand quilted. But finished in ... morea machine stitched binding. The quilt is NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION. There are some stains. Some tears& rips, some missing binding on the edges. The back side is not in as good of condition as the front side. As some of the back fabric is well- worn and has deteriorated. I'm guessing that is why there appears to be an 8 1/2" binding( on one end of the quilt- maybe to reinforce the back side where the fabric was damaged. But why she would also put it across the front side I don't understand. Maybe it was meant to designate the head of the bed where the pillows were to lie on top. I'm not sure- the quilt blocks underneath that strip do not appear to be damaged. A mystery that will never be solved, as Grandma died years ago, before I had the quilt and could ask questions from her. There are no musty smells and it has always been in pet-free. Smoke-free homes. Check the pictures carefully to see where I have tried to picture some of the damages. I have not made any attempt to repair or clean it. Freshly laundered. I examined closely and stitched a few places where the hand stitching came lose on the skirt. I'm a seamstress tailor and this is a real piece of art. Otherwise, there's some fabric loss in one spot on the edge(pictured) and few very small flea bites. I think the seam splits could be stitched up. The binding is great all the way around. Beautiful! Judging by the Turkey Red and shirting fabrics used. I would estimate the top to have been made between 1880 and 1900. The top measures approximtely 74" X 75" There are a few small popped seams(top is hand-pieced) and some stains probably caused by moisture. Most of the stains are lighter- the stain at the center of the top is darker and about 3 1/2" in diameter. I have seen no fabric deterioration. This top would make a nice addition to your collection. Very well made in in fantastic condition. soft subtle blue and white, there is some fading here and there but no significant damage at all, I found a few missed stitches and an ink stain on the underside that shows v ery little on the top side. Quilt has thin batting with mild separation but it is not lumpy, quilt is clean from a pet and smoke free estate, I have not laundered it and there are 2 light spots that should soak out with a little oxy. Measures approximately 74" x 75" Generally good condition, bright fabric, with all major flaws shown in close up, the most noticeable being the spots on the underside(they also appear on the red side, but do not detract in a major way there) Some white areas especially along edges have light grayish areas which I do not believe are dirt(see sixth photo) There is wear to the point of separation all along the binding of the piece. Antique QUILT TOP c. 1920 BLACK and WHITE SHIRTING +PRINTS
Interesting and different this quilt top is a mix of black and white and tan. The blacks and whites are c 1920 shirtings. Gingham and mourning prints. these prints were popular around 1900. The pieced blocks are set together with a tan print solid square. This is a very sweet print with stylized hearts on a vine. I haven't been able to identify the pattern.could be variation of Road to California or Road to Oklahoma. Cal. is a nine patch and this is a four patch as is Ok. The top is 71"x87" and is in very good condition. There is some age yellowing and light stains. One plain block has a small light blue stain. Finished this would be a very striking quilt!

Vintage Antique Heavy Handmade Quilt Red & White Cotton & Daisy Back
This is a beautiful handmade quilt in red and white cotton. The pieces are machine stitched and yarn has been pulled through to tie. The back is a very pretty raised daisy design also in cotton. There are no rips or worn spots. Material is in great condition. I tried to take a photo of every spot I could find, some are very small and didn't show up too well. This quilt has not been laundered so the spots may come out. Also, the photo shows a bright red, it is a bright red bud not as florescent as the photo, the white is very white. The quilting is done by hand and the beautiful cross stitching is also hand done. The quilt does show some signs of age and needs alittle LTC to be restored back to it's orginal state. Great small project while waiting for the warm weather. There is one block that needs the cross stitched repaired, the other 11 blocks 16" square are in great shape. Antique Red White and Blue 16 Point Radiating Star Quilt This beautiful quilt is stunning. It's thin. With one-inch cross-hatch hand-quilting. The back is white cotton and there's minimal if any batting. The binding is white cotton applied on both sides by machine. 80" x 76" Thin and Lightweight. This quilt has rarely if ever been used. There are a couple spots on it which you can see in the pictures. Maybe coffee? They would probably come out. I have not attempted that myself. It measures 70" X 88" and is in excellent condition. With a couple of small, faint age spots and no wear. There is quilting around the perimeter of each piece and in floral/vine and clam shell designs in the background. All at 6-7 stitches to the inch. The back is white. 14.00 Here is a wonderful hand sewn applique quilt with scalloped border. So many tiny stitches went in to the quilting and applique of this lovely old quilt. There are forty eight red tulips on tan stems against a white background. In groups of three per stem. Seventeen of the tulips or stem have some wear or shredding to the fabric. Some is fairly minor and some more apparent. The background appears to have fared well with several small holes to the top of the quilt seen in one area. Most of the background is in good condition, as is the backing. There is one good sized pale discoloration or area of soiling, which looks like yellowing or browning. This Auctions is for A Early 1900's Handmade Patchwork Quilt. Wild Goose Chase Quilt" ~ Measures approx. 67 inches X 70 inches. Fabric used is red and white gingham and unbleached cotton muslin. Entire quilt was pieced together by hand with hand top stitching at 9-10 stitches per inch. There is one patch repair on side outer edge and one small repair on this quilt(shown at end of ruler) Appears to have had an outer binding attached at some point in time(binding was attached with treadle stitches) binding shows signed of wear. No other rips. Tears or stubborn stains. Light yellowing consistent with age. Fabric still nice and strong. Very pretty quilt for those who are partial to red and whites! A fantastic primitive pillow made from a beautiful antique quilt square. The old fabrics are beautiful. The horseshoe print on the red fabric is really fun. The hand stitches on this quilt are amazing. I think you can see that in the photos. However. Too many worn spots mean the quilt can't be used-the fabric on the plain squares setting these blocks was completely shattered. So I've made pillows to be used as decorations-on your bed or chair, or in a basket. The pillow is about 7" by 7" The corners are slightly boxed, to give the pillow a nice shape. The pillows are stuffed with new bamboo fiberfill. The pillow has a complementary antique/vintage button sewn in the middle. Up for auction is a vintage milk glass butter dish by Westmoreland. It is an estate find and a flawless piece. There are no cracks. Chips, or breaks anywhere on this exquisite butter dish. It is a"quilt" pattern on this paticular dish. You can see the makers mark on the bottom o f the base and on the underside o f the lid. It measures just over 8" long. Vintage 1890's Red & White STAR Antique Quilt ~NICE QUILTING!
Antique Cotton 1890's red and white star quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted. Measuring 82 x 66 in nice condition no rips or tears. There are some spots. Please see photos. Quilt is thin weight is 3lbs. I'm not a quilt expert so please use photos as a reference. There was a little pcs of paper pinned to it long ago that said 1890. Beautiful pillow made from an antique quilt piece. The backing and stuffing are new and the front is from an old quilt. The quilt pieces were all hand washed in woolite prior to making the pillows. One antique vintage cutter quilt pillow 5 by 5 square So Sweet!!! Blue White
One very pretty pillow made from a beautiful antique quilt. The hand stitches on this quilt are very nice. I think you can see that in the photos. However. Too many worn spots mean the quilt can't be used. So I've made this sweet pillow to be used as a decoration-on your bed or chair, or in a basket. Maybe in a baby's room? The pillow is about 5" by 5" I take the extra time to box the corners, to give the pillow a nice finished shape. The pillow is stuffed with new fiberfill, has a nice vintage button sewn in the middle, and is backed with white reclaimed cotton chenille. This listing is for the pillow shown in the first photo. Antique Red and White Quilt Patchwork Hand Quilted c 1920s
Antique Red& White Quilt Hand pieced and hand quilted. Red with white polka dots fabric is circa 1910-1925. Measures 74 x 76 inches. No musty odors. This block has two common names(maybe more) Duck Foot" and/or"Cross and Crown. Block size is 9 inches. Sashing is five(5) inches wide and is quilted in a feather pattern. Very good solid condition showing no signs of wear. No holes. No thin areas, no fraying to binding. Cotton fabric is soft and smooth. Batting is lightweight. When held to light, there is evidence of cotton seeds/hulls. I consider this a summer quilt. Provenance unknown as I purchased from an antique store several years ago. Quilt stitches are neat& tidy; 16 to 18 stitches per inch(top& bottom) Rows of quilting are close together making the appearance of a nice scrunchy look. Quilt lays flat. Binding was ... moreattached by machine. Concerns to consider that prevent it from being described as mint: there is one age spot along one side of quilt. Some of the red threads from the blocks have been sewn into the batting. Not noticeable from a distance. Can be seen when quilt is viewed closely. Along edges and on back. There is some general pale yellowing to fabric. I would consider it"off-white. I have pictured edge along side an ecru maltese coverlet that I have on my bed. All concerns are pictured. Quilt has been in my collection for approximately 6 years. It was only out as display during Christmas holidays. It was then stored in a closet wrapped in a pillow case. I have never laundered quilt as I felt there was not a need. If I were to keep quilt and display more often. I would gently soak in cold water in the bathtub and air dry. I have tested a corner of the red fabric to make sure it would not bleed onto white. It appears to be colorfast. When fabric is wet, the red seam allowance is visible. Although. RED White Old Patchwork Quilt 64" x 78" antique VTG top cotton fabric coverlet
Older Antique or Vintage Quilt Coverlet- Hand made- Patchwork Hand stitched work- beautiful squares of red and off white. Off white and some faded prints of black and off white- one fabric almost completely faded. Condition- Good to Fair. From an Attic Trunk- Definite wear and tear from age and use as shown. Appears to be cotton. Cute faded detailed prints- Pictures taken inside, no flash. Size- Measures 64" by 78" No batting or heavy inbetween- lighter in weight. Will need TLC. Or buy as is- character in this old piece has fray and yellowing, stained fold in center. This piece is intact- clean- storage odor from cedar blanket chest- some yellowed- stains- Discoloration of backing and in other areas- not sure of cause or if will"treat" out. Antique Quilt Beautiful Pink & White Rare Pattern
Up for bid is a beautiful antique quilt. I bought this quilt ten yrs ago in an antique store for my daughter's nursery. I used it folded in an antique cabinet and have never laundered it. It is beautifully quilted and the pink is a very pretty color. I believe the pink is old feedsack material, but I am no expert on quilts. I do not know the name of this pattern, but I have never seen another one like this. It does have a few flaws. It has several small rips/holes in three places-one of which does go all the way through the quilt. There is also a few tiny places where the pink fabric is pulling away from the white-this could be tacked quite easily. I tried to take pictures of the three rips/holes. It also has numerous yellow-stains(old water stains? on the back of the quilt. And this discoloration does come through to the front in a few ... moreplaces. I am no expert in laundering or cleaning old quilts. So I will leave any restoration cleaning up to its new owner. I did not have luck photographing these spots, they didn't really show up in the pictures. I tried to take a picture of the largest one-it is the last picture. No doubt this quilt is an appalachian made quilt. And beautifully done. It displays very well. The measurements are approx. 69x78.5. I would think this would fit a twin best, but could be displayed on a full bed, because my bed is queen, and it stretched out across the entire top(see picture) This quilt is being sold as is, and despite it's old age flaws, it is truly a pretty quilt.
