Antique Estate 1950s Quilt "Drunkards Path" - Blue and White 65 x 76 inches
Up for sale is a vintage Drunkard's Path Quilt. It is in fair to good condition. The edges do show significant wear as seen in the photos. This might easily be fixed with adding a border around the quilt to make it bigger. The dimensions are 65 x 76 and it is hand stitched all around/inside the blocks. The quiltmanship is very good. This is just an old quilt that I estimate to be 1950s. It may be older. It came from a very old estate. There is some fading on the quilt it appears because the blocks on one side are a tad bit darker than the rest of the quilt. Very low Reserve. Vintage Handmade Hand Quilted Blue Flower Basket Feedsack Full Cotton Quilt Description. Vintage hand made flower basket quilt. All cotton fabrics in solids and prints. I believe feedsacks as well but am no expert and will let you be the judge. Striping in blue with red squares. It is all hand quilted. Backed in a wonderful cotton fabric in white. Navy blue and red with birds leaves and geometric medallion designs. It is a medium or heavy weight winter quilt. The quilt top is in excellent condition, I noticed just a couple of small faint spots. The back has some repairs around the edge. The repairs are machine stitched and it looks as though it was done before the back was put on. The edge stitching was not undone anywhere and the machine repair stitching does not go threw to the front. There are also a a few small holes just started around ... morethe edge. Hand pieced 1 1/4" square pieces with great novelty prints including a girl blowing a bubble and birds singing. It has 1 1/4" grid quilting in the body and chain quilted borders. Hand quilted at 6-7 stitches per inch and hand bound. Thin cotton batting. All cotton construction. It measures 79" x 76 1/2" Hand quilted in blue thread. This quilt has a few small flaws: 2 small repairs. 2 small seam separations, slight wear in the binding, slight age spotting and a tiny hole on the back as shown in photo's, overall this is a strikingly beautiful quilt and the flaws are hard to find! 30's Blue& White Antique Quilt Top ~UNUSUAL DESIGN! This GORGEOUS cotton 30's royal blue and white sawtooth diamond in a square quilt top is hand pieced. The pattern is most like one called"peekaboo" by Brackman's"Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns. It measures 80" X 96" and is in excellent. Washed condition, with a couple of tiny, faint age spots and no wear. The photos just don't do justice to this blue and white beauty!

Miss the old version of this page? everything on one long page. hddpe. Henomenal hand-quilting really steals the show on this elegantly designed and beautifully executed quilt. But the pieced pattern is quite appealing and challenging itself. The tiny half-square triangles are based on just a postage-stamp-scale one-inch square and by my count each block is composed of 63 smaller pieces. Nevertheless. With quilting this head-turning, you'll be forgiven for giving all your attention to those lush feathered wreaths, triple-rods and crisp gridding. I would date this quilt to around the 1880's. Size The quilt is just off square at one corner and measures about 70 inches square. The blocks are 9 inches square and the half-square triangles based on a 1-inch square. The borders are each about 1 inch wide. Quilting The hand-quilting is breathtaking. ... moreWith 10-13 little stitches to the inch. Counting on the top side of the quilt only. Part of what makes the wreaths so lush and stunning is that the lobes are completely outlined individually rather than nested tightly together sharing quilting lines. The wreath centers are gridded at 3/8 inch or less while the lines of the diagonal double rods are squeezed into as little as 1/4 inch with a skip of 1/2 inch between sets. Construction The blocks are hand-pieced and then set together and the borders added by machine. Backing. Binding& Batting The white backing is slightly gauzier than the front. Strong and supple and just has that discoloration, mostly in the very center. The pretty little 1/4-inch straight-grain binding is invisibly machine-stitche to the front. Rolled and hand-stitched tight on the reverse. Condition is essentially perfect: I just note one tiny popped hole. The batting is super thin and basically even with some super minor clumping to be found within those very narrow quilting channels. Condition The quilt's condition is excellent: strong. VINTAGE/ANTIQUE RED WHITE & BLUE PATCHWORK QUILT- 62"x80" - HANDMADE in MISSOURI
This is an auction for a VINTAGE/ANTIQUE RED WHITE& BLUE PATCHWORK QUILT- 62"x80" HANDMADE in MISSOURI. The majority of the 3 1/2" finished blocks are made of vintage cotton fabrics mainly red. White, blue in color- but there are a few blocks of greens, yellows. browns also in the quilt. The backing& edging are done in white cotton and the filling appears to be a white flannel(lightweight) The quilt is EXTREMELY OLD. Although I do not know the exact date of when it was made. It was my grandmother-in-law's quilt and she was born in 1901. My husband remembers her having this quilt& just knows that it something that she made. And obviously lovingly used. She lived her entire life in the"Lead Belt" area of the state of Missouri, south of St. Louis. This quilt is completely hand quilted. But finished in ... morea machine stitched binding. The quilt is NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION. There are some stains. Some tears& rips, some missing binding on the edges. The back side is not in as good of condition as the front side. As some of the back fabric is well- worn and has deteriorated. I'm guessing that is why there appears to be an 8 1/2" binding( on one end of the quilt- maybe to reinforce the back side where the fabric was damaged. But why she would also put it across the front side I don't understand. Maybe it was meant to designate the head of the bed where the pillows were to lie on top. I'm not sure- the quilt blocks underneath that strip do not appear to be damaged. A mystery that will never be solved, as Grandma died years ago, before I had the quilt and could ask questions from her. There are no musty smells and it has always been in pet-free. Smoke-free homes. Check the pictures carefully to see where I have tried to picture some of the damages. I have not made any attempt to repair or clean it. Antique cotton fabric material Dark blue Flannel quilt back
Nice piece of antique cotton flannel rescued from the back of an old tied quilt. A medium blue. Almost denim look on one side, back side dark blue. The fabric is from the 1890's or earlier. It is a medium weight cotton flannel(nothing to do with upholstery weight fabric) I would estimate 80% usuable. In good condition, it has a few small tears and holes, some fading, and some stains. I've tugged in both directions and there is no splitting, but the old side seams are weak. The total piece measures 57" wide by 75" long, an individual piece with both selvedges is 28" wide. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Vintage Red & Blue Patchwork Tied Quilt - Very Soft Velour Twin / Full 60 by 70"
This vintage patchwork quilt was hand tied and was made with all very soft velour fabrics like the Vanity Fair Corp. used in their robes. It does not have batting. It does not have any worn areas but this type fabric get fine fine pilling. There is a very slightly faded square area that was cause by the way it was folded and left in the light. It is clean. Odor free and 60 by 70 inches.

You are bidding on a vintage log cabin pieced quilt that has been hand quilted. Quilt has all colors of blue with solids a couple of plaids and calicos. Centers are all navy blue. The backing is a light blue stripe. This is shown on a Queen bed. Measures approx 92 x 89 Edge all around is a nice strip design that sets off the log cabin blocks. This has been used by me as a table cloth and not on a bed. It is in wonderful condition for its age. Happy to answer questions. Would say it is about medium weight. Always a smoke free home.

You are bidding on a lovely queen size hand quilted quilt. This quilt is 92" long and 82" wide. This is a blue pattern on a white background. The pattern is put on by cross stitch. This quilt was found at an estate sale. It is in very good condition. The only problems we could find are a stain near a corner edge. It is the size of my hand and I took two pictures of it. Also there is a quarter size stain near the center of the quilt. Last there are about a half dozen thread pulls in the cross stitch pattern.
