The binding is also solid orange and center star too. I love the Dutchy feel to this beauty. It measures 77 x 72 inches. Hand quilted 7-8 stitches per inch. The binding is hand sewn and batting is thin. No batting. There's scattered age spotting and yellowing. I noticed inside the star some fade. The center orange star looks off center. Very Nice Antique Lemoyne Star Quilt! 1895-1905, Soft, Subtle Fabrics & Colors
Classic Antique Lemoyne Star Quilt. 1895– 1905. Soft Subtle Fabrics& Colors This beautiful old quilt is 62 x 78 inches in size. It is hand stitched and hand quilted with an average of 7 SPI. The background fabric on the front is cream colored with a tiny cinnamon shirting type print. The border fabric. Also used on the bars between the rows of stars and between each star is a ditsy print in cinnamon and pink. The fabrics used for the 101 squares- and stars within- are a wonderful mixture of many different vintage small prints in various shades of red and pink plus gray. Black, gold, brown, cream and just a little blue and green The backing is natural muslin The binding is a small print in maroon and green. In most respects this quilt is in very nice condition for its age. There is some light color fading in the binding fabric. But no ... morefraying. There are a few small age or storage spots which are difficult to see because of the many prints. There is also some fabric popping in about 12 of the small squares with stars. This seems to have occurred mostly with one particular brown& black mourning print. It looks like this quilt was hung on display at some stage in its history because there is a fabric rod pocket attached to the back of one end. This could easily be removed. But if I had a large enough wall I would love to see this quilt hanging again. Even with the small imperfections it is still a great beauty

This is an antique baby quilt with a sort of 8 point star design. It is 29" by 38" and is string tied. Because it is string tied rather than quilted to the back it is lumpy and a little out of shape. Other than that it is in pretty good condition with one small 1" open seam. It has not been cleaned and has general soiling and a light stain. 2 SIDED Antique STAR & Patchwork Quilt BLOCK - Cutter Piece PC - 29 X 32" -
This lovely old quilt piece was cut from a quilt with some damaged areas. The quilt had a piece on the back that was just stitched on at the edges. When I opened it I found a very old quilt in side. It is a tied quilt. The star area was hand quilted just through the top layer of the back of the older quilt. The older quilt has very early tiny blue prints in it. Both were pieced by machine. It is in good condition except for splits in one block on the older side. It is clean, odor free and 29 by 32 inches. I am now listing many antique quilt and coverlet pieces and I am always happy to combine shipping.

This is a wonderful piece of American art which should be priced over $1.000. It is an antique crazy quilt, which incorporates fan and star patterns, done primarily with satin? or silk? and velvet fabrics and with extensive embroidery. For the last 40 years, at least, it has been in a smoke free and pet free home. It measures 69" X 79" and is in very good vintage condition. There is one edge of the bright blue background which has slightly faded(pic# 7) and there are a small number of pieces in the star design where the fabric has deteriorated. This beautiful vintage woven coverlet from the 1930s has been in hiding for a very long time and needs to be seen. Formerly held in a collection and kept in ideal storage conditions this one emerges in superb vintage condition. Nice and clean with the exception of one spot that can be seen in the last photo. Nothing to stop you from enjoying this one. The striking pattern is full of tiny little details that make it most appealing to the eye. The paper tag on one corner is a sale tag from long ago. This coverlet has no sign of a makers tag. The overall size is 78 X 94 inches. This is a very well made and light weight cotton coverlet. Hard to tell which side is the best as it views nicely on both sides. The scalloped border is nicely finished with a square knot type stitched edge. Fine design detailing in the pattern. CONDITION: Just a few ... morethread pulls that are hard to fnd and one spot that looks removable on one corner to worry about. Otherwise. It is in great condition and very soft and strong. It does not appear to have been used much. There are no rips, tears or areas of wear to note. Nice uniform consistency overall with no evidence of thinning or weakness in the fibers. Miss the old version of this page? everything on one long page. vposy. His sweet lightweight Ohio Star quilt features a lovely selection of mostly brown-toned late 1800's prints all prettily framed by wide sashing strips in a cheery double pink. It has some contained issues of fabric tearing(and because of them I didn't attempt to wash out the light storage spotting) but is very much redeemed by the lovely fabrics and the rare extra of two little hand-written notes pinned to a corner. One reads: Belonged to Ettie Hewitt Miller mother of Florence Miller Smith grandmother of Marian Smith Love around 1900. The second simply reads: Mrs. Miller. Size The quilt measures about 68 x 82 inches. The blocks are 8 1/2 inches square. Quilting The hand-quilting is nice. With 5-6 little stitches to the inch. Counting on the top side of the quilt ... moreonly. The star blocks are quilted in an inset-outlined plus in the ditch outlines of the nine smaller squares and then an X corner-to-corner on each. The sashing and borders are quilted in 1 to 1 1/4-inch diagonals. Construction The quilt is entirely handmade and the piecing is tight. Backing. Binding& Batting The backing is a strong. Crisp ivory solid with spotting and stains througout, plus towards the bottom, three areas with tearing and holes including the one coming through from the front. The lovely 3/16-inch self-binding is rolled from back to front and hand-stitched tight. Aside from staining and that 2-inch torn area along the top. A 1-inch tear around the same spot along the opposite edge and maybe a dozen little cuts and frayed spots around those same problem areas, it's really strong; along the sides it's quite perfect and strong. The batting is thin and even. Condition The unwashed quilt's condition is strong but with some definite issues. There are the two blocks along the bottom with torn fabrics. One of which has holes going through the backing. And then there is light age spotting scattered throughout on the white of the blocks. This looks like s

Antique vtg Primitive Blazing Star Quilt Block c1860-80 Hand-Pc'd LAST ONE
Antique Vintage Primitive BLAZING STAR Quilt Block a.k.a. SUNFLOWER or SUNBURST also called NOONDAY. c.1860-80 CIVIL WAR ERA or earlier. This was bought from a Lancaster County. Pennsylvania antique dealer in the 1990's. Size: The quilt block is approx. 13 inches square or 19" on point as in pix#8. The Blazing Star circle is 10 inches across and the Chrome Yellow center circle is 4.5 inches across. The 16 WHITE diamonds are 2.5" long. This pattern is difficult to piece and it is beautifully sewn by HAND very precisely by an expert. Color: POISON GREEN is the 13.5" background block. After the CHROME YELLOW center of the STAR. There are 8 half diamonds of CINNAMON or DOUBLE PINK alternating with 8 Madder Brown that has a White stripe and polka dots of red, tan and white half diamonds. The large diamonds are WHITE with teeny ... moreblack Dots. The half-diamonds on the outside curved edge are a similar Madder print with dots of red, tan and white on a smaller scale. See an explanation of these fabrics in the pre-1830 section of Eileen Jahnke Trestain's book"DATING FABRICS A Color Guide 1800-1900" There are some small light storage specks barely visible. This is a wonderful old cotton quilt measuring 92" x 68" The quilt is in good cond. with no damages or stains or odors. The quilt pattern is some variation of stars done in mostly browns and blues civil war era fabrics. The colors are still very bright. Has approx. 10 stiches per inch hand sewn. The background colors are red. Tan and white. The patchwork square sections measure 9" Some of the background fabrics may have been sewn on a machine. Nice variety of madder browns in this quilt. One piece of civil war calico looks like it has a small faded spot, but it is actually a fabric flaw from the factory where the tiny flowers were not printed totally on every square inch of the fabric doesn't detract at all from the beauty of this quilt. Antique vintage 4 Point Star Crazy quilt feedsacks
Four Point Star vintage quilt. 68" x 81" in size. The solid color stars are surrounded by crazy patchwork blocks in floral and novelty prints and solids. Lilac color sashings. The backside is a light peach. Salmon, or pink color I think. It looks a little bit faded in one area. This is not real noticeable. The yellow blocks in 3 corners have some light brown stain that was probably on the fabric when the quilt was made. Otherwise in good condition. A lot of feedsack prints are used on the front. Other fabrics are cotton.

And bright white cotton for the background and deep borders. The quilt measures 94" x 82" has a very thin cotton batting with cotton seed fragments, and a bright white back, which was brought around to the front and hand stitched to form the binding. HAND QUILTED with outline quilting inside each piece. Leaves and floral quilting on the background, and floral and shell quilting on the borders@ 8 stitches per inch. PROFESSIONALLY HAND LAUNDERED. We found a couple light storage spots but no rips, tears or odors. Unfortunately, the acidic dyes used in those days have eaten away the flowers on the Turkey Red with just the yellow leaves remaining, and on the blue fabric leaving small holes, but this quilt is still very sturdy and has many years of use left. Beautiful Multi Colored Broken Star Quilt probably done in the 20s or 30s. Size is 80 x 89 in. Looks to be in great condition. A few random age small age spots, worst is shown in some of the photos but this is not true for the entire quilt. No holes. I have had it for over 40 years and have never washed it, still bright and clean. It lays on top of other bedding and is removed at night. I have many quilts so this one did not get a lot of wear, if any. Quilting looks great, colors are fast and unfaded. Nice visual graphic for your home. Have tried to picture the reverse side wherein there is reverse very light bleeding of color from front in some places not entire quilt, but this has been that way for over 40 years. 14.00 Here is a wonderful hand pieced and hand quilted antique to vintage Le Moyne patterned quilt. The quilting is intricate and lovely done in tiny stitches of approximately 9 stitches per inch. The fabric is cotton in solid colors of pale green and peach on a natural background and with natural backing. The fabric is in strong condition and would be near perfect if it were not for some areas of discoloration. There are lines and an almost perfect 16 by 16 inch square of light tan discoloration. As well as some pinkish discoloration in areas. I do not know if these can be removed, as I am not an expert in this area. I will leave that to the winning bidder. Carpenters Wheel Star Antique Vintage Quilt ~ Simply Lovely What a beauty this quilt is! Carpenters wheel and star is full of bright colors. Greens. Pinks, purples, yellow, blues and more are framed in a lovely lavender. A large variety of beautiful novelty cotton prints make a wonderful combination. The back is muslin and a green binding has been applied. The hand-quilting measures 10-12 stitches per inch. Simply divine! Measures 82 x 62. And hand-quilted. It looks as if this one was gently used. I saw one tiny tear on front. See pic. Almost missed it as it blends right in! The binding is slightly frayed. But nothing major. There are some light age related stains on the back. No loose seams. Strong and sturdy, and in excellent antique vintage condition. Please keep in mind that these are vintage and antique quilts. The only way to describe this beauty is dark. Sultry and stunning! Spiderweb stars make up this quilt design. Loaded with a huge assortment of men's suit fabrics, gabardines and wool blends. The colors are rich and dark in shades of ebony blacks, midnight navy blues, dark purples, golden olives, and earthy browns and tans. The back is a heavy off white cotton. Hand tied with thick yarn in a variety of shades. Just gorgeous! Measures 78" x 78" This is a heavy quilt. The front of quilt is in perfect condition! Nothing to report! The backside does have some light storage stains here and there. Strong and sturdy and in excellent antique vintage condition! Please keep in mind that these are vintage and antique quilts. This enormou s 7'x7' quilt top comes from my husband's family. Unfortunately I have no idea when it was made. But can safely say that it dates from the earlier half of the 20th century. My father in law had it stored away for more than 60 years in his mother's trunk. It is entirely hand-stitched. I am not sure if the flo wer print material is flour s ack or not- it is. In any case, cotton. It has never been washed. The colors are pink solid diamonds, yellow and green diamonds on a white background. I found one 2" tear in the outermost border. The smallest bit of discoloration in one of the pink areas and I think it was from the quilt being folded into itself all these years. I'm 99% sure a good soaking would take care of it. Personally I wouldn't do anything about it. You probably wouldn't notice it if I didn't point it out. Great ANTIQUE LONE STAR QUILT FULL OF PASTEL FEEDSACKS
Easter colors! Here is a lucious lone star quilt. 1940's home made, super crisp and still retaining some of the original blue ink guides. The center star is large and reaches to the edge of a full bed. the diamonds are made with double rows of complimentary colors: pale yellow/golden yellow. pastel pink/rose pink, lavendar/purple, sky blue/ royal blue, grass green/deep green. The center star is yellow and the very outer ring where the 8 points meet the body is blue as are the very tips of the star-well planned out and executed. All diamonds are hand stitched around the interior. 8-9 spi. The quilt is copiously hand quilted giving it that great texture. 10 spi and in 1" grids and nice patterns that dont show up too well in my photos-there is a pretty flower in each of the four corners. The face and the backing of the quilt are snowy ... morewhite. Thin cotton batting. Hand closed binding. Free of wear. Nice sized at 88" x 88" Symetrical as most lone stars are(square, not rectangular) I found two light smudges. Nice and thick. I saw about 12 popped seams. Nothing major. On front several light stains that seem to blend in. And on the back there are some light stains scattered here and there. No tears and no holes. Strong and tight and in excellent antique vintage condition! Please keep in mind that these are vintage and antique quilts. STURDY cotton"twinkling star" quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with the name"Anda Mae Crowell" and date"1907" hand embroidered in the border(though some, if not MOST of the fabrics date back to the 19th century) It measures a generous 78" X 86" and is in MINT. UNWASHED condition, with the occasional small age spot(see photos) and no wear. There are straight line designs quilted throughout at an even 8 stitches to the inch. The back is a pleasing grey striped fabric. The hand stitched binding is late 19th century cinnamon pink, and the batting is thin. The WONDERFUL DESIGN. Primitive Pillow 7 by 7 Red White Blue Star Antique Cutter Quilt Fabulous
A fantastic primitive pillow made from a beautiful antique quilt square. The old fabrics are beautiful. The horseshoe print on the red fabric is really fun. The hand stitches on this quilt are amazing. I think you can see that in the photos. However. Too many worn spots mean the quilt can't be used-the fabric on the plain squares setting these blocks was completely shattered. So I've made pillows to be used as decorations-on your bed or chair, or in a basket. The pillow is about 7" by 7" The corners are slightly boxed, to give the pillow a nice shape. The pillows are stuffed with new bamboo fiberfill. The pillow has a complementary antique/vintage button sewn in the middle. The pillow is backed with a piece from an antique reclaimed cotton homespun towel-another piece of fabric history that needs to be saved and admired. ... moreBoth the front and back have an authentic patina of age.
