LOVELY VINTAGE QUILT - AMISH STYLE- HAND STICHED HAND QUILTED - ABOUT 100YRS OLD
Fabulous Antque Quilt This charming quilt was a gift many many years ago but I have decided to simplify my life and so I am offering it up for sale The quilt is complely handsewn and hand quilted. The squares measure about 1 5/8"by 1 5/8" and there are aproximently 8/10 stiches per inch. The backing on the quilt is one solid piece of vintage cotton material. The color of the backing is a deep cranberry red with a very small black design. The quilt measures 75" by 84" This size would be perfect for a double or maybe a queen size bed. The condition of the quilt top is excellent. The condition of the quilt backing is good but not perfect. There is one medium/small stain and a small bit of material damage in that area(picture included) I do not know the exact age of this quilt but I guesstimate it to be 100 years old. Vintage Amish Handmade LONE STAR Quilt ~ 88" x 91" ~Folder ~Cutter?
Vintage Amish Handmade Lone Star Quilt Cutter- Folder ~ Front Porch Worthy! If you like the shabby- country look. this quilt may be for you! We have a soft antique LONE STAR QUILT purchased years ago from an Amish estate sale. This striking quilt does show some signs of wear and a bit of deterioration. So we are classifying it as a cutter or folder quilt. There are no holes or missing fabric; but it's not perfect. It is hand-quilted and machine stitched around the quilt perimiter and boats a nice combination of old fabrics which are probably from the 1930's- 40's. The batting is thin and there is outling quilting and straight line quilting throughout the quilt at about 7 stitches per inch. It measures about 88" x 91" The edges of this binding are frayed in places. But could easily be replaced if this is of concern to ... moreyou. There is also a section along the edge where some of the cross-hatch stitching has deteriorated a bit. In addition, there is some yellowing of the creamy white fabric, but a nice bath should brighten this quilt right up. I've taken LOTS of photos. please ENJOY and bid accordingly. I've used this quilt as a display piece; however. It would also look nice folded at the end of the bed- or a cutter if you so choose. Pa. Amish Quilt, Traditional Old Amish Colors - Vintage - Full/Queen - Excellent
Diamond in a Square is the official title of this Pa. Amish Quilt. It is vintage in excellent condition. It has never been washed but frequently shaken and lightly vacuumed. The delicate stitches are enhanced by the simplicity of the lines and the solid bold colors. The center is orange. Light blue on each side broken by dark green squares in each corner. Dark blue forms the next diamonds and light blue borders are broken by brown squares. Brown borders the bottom of the quilt broken by orange squares in each corner. The intricate patterns of tiny stitches is totally done by hand. The patterns vary from diamond shapes. Feathering, a large feathered circle in the center square and many other intricate and expertly executed hand stitches. The reverse is light beige which allows for great appreciation for the patterns and tiny stitches. With a nice blue background and all solid colors. It measures 68" X 84" and is in good/fair condition. With spotting and discoloration- mostly in one quadrant(it appears to be bleach) and the back, and binding wear. There are straight line. Grid, and cable designs quilted throughout at an even 7 stitches to the inch. The back and hand stitched. Rolled binding are the same light blue, and the batting is thin. Lancaster County Pennsylvania Amish vintage quilt Martzall Frey Sellers
Another of my prized family heirlooms I have to sell because the current Economic enviroment. Thank you Obama. Anyway here goes. This is a beutiful Amish Star pattern Applique quilt I inheited about 17 years ago from my grandmother(possibly Dunkard or Mennonite) She was born in East Petersburg Pennsylvania and lived in Philadelphia and Lancaster Pennsylvania. Her maiden name was Martzall and some other names in the family are Sellers. Frey, Landis and Bender. Unsure which side this came from. It measures 68 x 51 inches which I guess would make it a lap quilt. It has wear and fading. Also looks like the colors have bled from being washed. It has a small hole on both sides in different spots that do not go all the way thru. The center on both sides has a small wear hole. The edging has heavy wear. The picture of the back does not show the color ... morewell it actually is a Lilac color. Stitch count is about 9-10 per inch. There are also a few spots on it. The picture of the front does not show the stars properly. There are actually white stars in the pattern that are hard to see in the photo. Please look ath the photos closely. I do not sell a lot of quilts. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. This is not in perfect condition but is a genuine died in the wool vintage Amish quilt.

Authentic Vintage Amish Quilt Top. Awesome.
This is a used vintage Amish quilt top. I picked these up from an elderly gentleman. He said that his wife purchased them back in the early 80's when they were traveling the Amish lands. She was always going to finish them but never did. So they have been in a drawer since then. This one is approximately 84" x 70" These tops are pictured folded in half because I have nowhere big enough in my home to unfold it completely to take a picture. This one is in very good condition. Very clean and bright. The only thing wrong is a missing section on one corner side. You can see in photo 11. No rips or tares that I can find. It is all hand stitched. Very nicely done. Sold as is. Authentic Vintage Lancaster Co. Handmade Amish King Quilt Swag Pattern Blues
I purchased this Amish King quilt in 1993 when my family took a vacation to Pennsylvania. We purposely set out to find a family in Lancaster County that made quilts rather than purchase one a the local shops. We found a wonderful family including a mother. Father and 2 young sons who lived way out on a country road. There was a small handmade sign advertising home made quilts so we stopped. It has never been used except to lay on a guest bed for about one year, then packed away in a zip plastic bag until now. The condition is excellent. No stains or tears. A few threads have pulled away slightly from the stitching but are not broken and could be fixed. This quilt has a swag design using mostly mixed shades of blue and white patterned fabrics with a pink floral one used as an accent. The entire quilt is hand stitched and backed with one piece ... moreof cotton muslin. The navy blue border is stitched in white with a running feather pattern(see photo) This quilt measures 107.50 inches long and 97 inches wide. The bottom ends are rounded. A ntique Vintage 1 Primitive AMISH PUMPKIN SEED variation QUILT BLOCK pattern c.1875-1900 found in Berks County. PA The colors are a solid color GRAY cotton fabric with an OFF-WHITE cotton muslin fabric. It would be terrific in a PRIMITIVE setting. Cabin decor, framed, etc. Size: approx. 15 inches square as in pix#2 or 21 inches on point as in pix#1. Vintage condition. Strong and sturdy, with 1 spot as seen in pix#4 and surface soil. See the last pix for a close-up of the back and the teeny tiny applique stitches worked in red thread. The background piece is seamed diagonally by treadle machine. Beautiful Hand Pieced Vintage Amish Quilt - Bonnet Girl- EUC
This beautiful Quilt was bought in Lancaster PA in 1978. I bought it at an Amish Homestead at their roadside stand. The 12 year old daughter running the stand informed me she actually was the one who pieced the squares together with her mom checking her stitches. I wish she had signed it. The quilt has. No stains, fading or defects. I bought this but it was never used on a bed. Sadly my daughter preferred Strawberry Shortcake. It has been in a bag in storage all these years, I found it while getting ready for a move. Quilt Measures 62X87 inches. Fits a twin/full bed. On a twin bed it is very generous. Amish Quilt Vintage Grandmothers Flower Garden Bold Bright Solid Colors
Beautiful. Bright and bold Midwestern Amish Quilt in the Grandmothers Flower Garden Pattern. 78 inches by 80 inches. From the 30s or 40s? The quilt top may have been pieced in the 30s or 40s and assembled and quilted later. A wide variety of colors are used in this quilt, and the various shades of the same colors indicate that it was made from leftover scraps. The binding was made by bringing the blue backing fabric to the front of the quilt and is sewn by machine. Some of the hexagons have been sewn by hand. Some of the hexagons were sewn by machine. Some are hard for me to tell. The borders were applied by machine. Hand quilting with black thread-6-7 stitches per inch-outlines each hexagon. The blue border has a tradition double cable pattern and the black border a vine and leaf design. The hexagons are cotton and cotton sateen. I think ... morethe wide black border is a cotton or wool challis-it has a softer texture than black cotton used in the field of hexagons. The black border is also pieced from several different shades of black. The piecing in the border can be seen in the upper right hand corner of the first photo. There is still a nice shine to many of the fabrics. Indicating the quilt has not been washed very often, if at all. The quilt shows some stains and water marks. I found at least small stains on 11 of the 30 flower blocks. Samples of the worst stains are shown in the photos. You can zoom in on the first photo to see all of the stains. Although some are very small. The back shows one stain. I found three places where the binding has a flaw. I have not attempted to clean any of the stains. The quilt would make a great wall quilt or bed topper. I enjoy thinking about the person who made each quilt I find. When you look at the fine stitching on a quilt. It is hard not to think of the person that made the quilt, and wonder what her life was like. I particularly like scrap quilts and quilts where the colors are not quite symmetric, because it allows me to connect with her as I think about why she choos

Beautiful White on White Quilted Bedcover/Bedspread/Quilt(Made by my Amish grandmother many years ago) made by my grandmother. Who was an excellent quilter(made approximately 40 years ago) white on white design with intricate designs(see all photos) measures 98" long x 78" wide(fits a twin x-long bed as a bedspread) will also fit a double bed if used as a quilt(just comes down not as far) quilt has been freshly laundered and is in great condition(can't see any spots. But if there are any, they are very light) quilt has been stored in a cedar closet. So they are well-preserved photo#5 shows bottom edges have been mitered(turned up and stitched) to avoid tripping on the edged. A 60 by 80 inch quilt that I have kept in a trunk for 16 years. So there is no fading whatsoever. I bought it in southern Illinois in Amish country. And will include the tag that reads, 1930’s from Southern Pen. Amish First Child’s Quilting. It features approximately 4 stitches per inch and was executed in all cotton with an off-white backing. Beautiful Vintage Amish Baby Quilt in Irish Chain
A rare find. This baby quilt measures 35 ½ inches by 29 inches– a wonderful size to hang. The colors are subdued black. Brown, and dark green, with a green backing. And there are approximately 8 stiches per inch. The black border features 14 hearts with the interior having six 8-sided stars and six half stars. The four inner corners are stitched. EY Nov 7 1983. There is no fading of the colors. However. There are two moth holes which I show, and some roughness at the edges of the wool green squares. Vintage Quilt Square Block from Amish Country 1840-1920s Hand Quilted
Purchased"a box of old fabric" from an estate auction in Amish Country. PA that had a huge amount of items dating from 1840s to 1930s. When I looked in the box, there were a bunch of beautiful hand quilted squares. Two of the squares were dated 1842 and 1855, but the rest were undated. From what I can tell, all of the squares are from about the same time period, although I can't tell for sure. I am selling each of the squares individually. Antique Vintage Blue Orange Green Pinwheel Quilt Top Here for your consideration is a striking orange. Green, blue, and tan, quilt top. It was purchased from an Amish woman at a local Ohio flea market. We are also very close to the Pennsylvania border, so it could be a Pa. piece. This extra-large piece measures 78" x 95" This quilt top would work on a queen bed. If you wanted to use the long 95" length. You could"fudge it" on a king bed. I am calling this pattern a"Pinwheel" Each"Pinwheel" block is about 8.5" square. The larger blocks that the Pinwheel fits into are 11.5" square. The individual triangles are 5.5" at the base. And 4" on the two pieces that make the peak of the triangle. There are three outer borders, each about 2.25" wide. This quilt top has been carefully ... morepieced with hand-stitching only. This quilt top is in very good condition. It has never been washed. Thus it still has the original fabric starch. It is a nice cotton. I saw some minor and tiny age dots. There are a few holes and the edges are a little rough in places. I found two stains that look like bleed-through. I got this at an estate sale and the lady said her mother made this around 1914, but there is not any date on the quilt. Well made. But obvious age signs and areas of where the the original insulating material is coming out. But, in my opinion, still a VERY desirable display piece. I think she deserves a nice spot on a wall, or in a nice spare bedroom. The bottom side is is what I would call standard old style material. I see it on a fair amount of very old quilts. VINTAGE SMALL AMISH STYLE QUILT/WALLHANGING HANDSTITCHED Beautiful Amish Style Quilt is 36½” x 37. Looks like“Cat’s Cradle” is the pattern used. Colors on the front are black. Rust, rose, orchid, white, off-white, light grey, light purple and shrimp. The backing is purple. Beautifully hand-quilted with black thread. 9 stitches per inch. Has 2 ½” sleeve on the back for use as a wall hanging. There may be a light layer of batting. Maker of this quilt was probably using up scraps. Not signed or dated. Not sure of age. But not new. Vintage Quilt bought at Amish Auction FABRIC: Old unusual quilt that appears to be part salvaged antique crazy quilt refurbished with other vintage fabrics to re-create a new quilt top. My best guess is this was done in the 1960s as it seems a few of the fabrics may be from that era. A very interesting study as there is every kind of fabric imaginable: wool. Silk, cotton, rayon and some acrylic and synthetics.a number of unusual antique velvets. Hand embroidered initials and dates, etc. Made up of 20 larger 16-18" blocks. All the pieced fabrics have been hand stitched with silk and cotton floss in decorative stitching. It appears to be a combination of hand and machine pieced scraps The back and the front 2" border is a milk chocolate brown cotton that has been hand tied with yarn. FABRIC: Old thick quilt handmade of wool rectangle scraps separated by dark navy borders of old rayon.Cotton& wool gabardine. Accented with faded pink yarn rosebud puffs that are hand tied tufted. The blocks have been machine stitched together. Each colored rectangle is approx 5" x 7" and the navy/black borders are 2" wide. The whole quilt is trimmed in 2" teal wool border. Machine pieced and hand quilted. Diagonal quilting pattern. Front pattern is bordered by right-angle triangles on three sides. Forth side has bigger 6.75" red and yellow floral border. Fabric indicative of early 1930's homespun fabrics- shirting and simple prints decorate quilt. Border is back fabric brought around to front. See last two pics to see small tar in back. VINTAGE FRAMED AMISH INTRICATE 3D CLOTHS LINE / QUILT NEEDLEPOINT SAMPLER Goose
Available is a vintage Amish 3D needlepoint framed sampler of quilts displayed throughout a room. It measures 16" wide and is 11.5" tall. All of the quilts have different intricate designs and are only attached at the top or side of each quilt so that they can be lifted up. There is also a small striped rug at the bottom with real fringe and a goose. Beautiful with great attention to detail and in excellent condition. There are a few small scuffs to the wooden frame. It measures a generous 78" X 82" and is in excellent condition. With a couple of small, faint age spots(hard to find) and no wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall. The quilting is SUPERB. With quilting around the piecework and in straight line, swag, fleur-de-lis, deco and cable designs in the background, all at an even 9-10 stitches to the inch. The back is a small floral print. The hand stitched binding is the same solid light green used in the interior, and the batting is thin. This VIBRANT COLORS and LUSH QUILTING make this vintage AMISH quilt stand out- it would make a terrific wall hanging!
