CHERISH EACH DAY& ALL WILL BE OK This vintage quilt is all cotton& measures 76" by 82" overall. Quarter sections are shown. To see the details better. The main color is teal green. There are 1.25" hexagons. All edges are scalloped, the binding was hand sewn. The quilting was hand sewn at 5-8 spi. There is thin batting. SIze- 68" x 79" The quilt consists of alternating pieced& unpieced blocks. It is done in only 2 colors- burgundy& cream. The burgundy pieces have small cream patterns- primarily stripes& florals. Each block is 10" x 10" The quilt has a double border- the outer border is solid cream. 3-1/4" The inner border is a burgundy print, 1-1/4" The backing is cream. It was brought up over the edges of the top& stitched down to form a 1" border. Quilting- hand-quilted w/12 stitches per inch. In the pieced blocks. The quilting follows the design of the burgundy pieces. There is also a design of quilted circles in the pieced blocks. Each solid block has a large, stylized quilted sunflower. The borders are quilted w/a curving vine pattern. Batting- the batting is quite thin. WHen held to the light. It is possible to see tiny dark dots scatterd thru the batting. 3 Antique Quilt Frame C Clamps, Cast Iron, USA, vintage quilting old sewing
Here are 3 old cast iron C clamps. The main C body of each clamp is about 4 1/4 inches long. These were used on quilting frames. And t he top of the screw has a pivoting cap that helps secure the work. They are marked Made in USA. These clamps are in good condition without breaks or repairs. We are not sure if the the black finish is original or if they have been repain ted as some point. The finish is missing in spots around the edges. These antique clamps have a great look that makes them a simple but fancy way to clamp things together. They are great for temporary displays. For example. At antique shows we use similar clamps to secure Industrial task lights to a table or desk.

I'm not sure what process she used to dye it, but the colors seem to shimmer and ripple across the quilt, as you can see in the pictures. She also alternated the red and purple on the binding. The hand quilting is superbly done in flowers, leafy stems, cobwebs, and butterflies. All of the flowers are quilted and shadow quilted. This is truly a magnificent quilt made by a master quilter. Antique/Vintage Cotton Fabric Squares 1920's-1930's Quilting
This is a shoebox filled full of 3" fabric squares from the depression era. Most of them are like new with the original sizing and a few of the solids have been unsewn from something else and most measure 3" square. Except for the nile green floral thats on top of the box in the first picture. That pieces has some light surface soil but has never been washed and measures 6" x 35" In picture 5 I've removed all the prints from the box and all the solids are left, so it's about 50-50 or so. There's a lot of fabric here, it weights over 2 lbs. There's a lot of conversation prints too. I try to describe my items as accurately as possible. Including defects, but sometimes I miss a detail which is important to the collector, so please don't hesitate to ask questions before bidding. I will be happy to answer ... morethem! Pair Antique Stover Quilt Frame C Clamps, Cast Iron, vintage quilting old sewing
Here is a pair of old cast iron C clamps. The main C body of each clamp is about 4 3/8 inches long. These were used on quilting frames. And t he top of the screw has a pivoting cap that helps secure the work. They are marked Stover Mfg Co. and Freeport. ILL for Illinois. These clamps are in good condition without breaks or repairs. The original black finish is missing in spots, and there is rust where it is missing. These antique clamps have a great look that makes them a simple but fancy way to clamp things together. They are great for temporary displays. For example, at antique shows we use similar clamps to secure Industrial task lights to a table or desk.

I think this bonnet or hood dates to the mid 19th Century. Although I haven't found one exactly the same. A similar hood is shown in the National Trust book by Mackenzie[see below] on page 18. The hood was used exactly as a calash. It protected the wearer from the weather. Whilst looking as feminine and pretty as possible! ... moreThis one. Entirely in silk inside and out, is quite long to reach the shoulders. It has a wide panel that goes all around the front, all quilted in a diamond pattern, onto which is laid a delightful pleated ruffle. The heavily gathered narrow lace surrounds the face at the front edge. The hood then has a tuck before we come to the oval outer crown. Which in turn is gathered into the back of the head piece. Here we have a lovely large silk ribbon bow. The ruffles continue around the back bavelot. As does the quilting. To the inner front. The original ribbon ties with picot edges, fasten the hood to the chin. The hood is softly padded for the quilting and for warmth. It is then completely lined in silk. Which may have once been black or brown, the colour it is presently. This delightful piece is made to the outer in soft pliable silk. And as such there is a little wear here and there and a few tiny holes. There is a modest split to the lining silk. The ribbon bow to the back is brown but again, this could either be deliberate or fading. One area of lace has a tear that could be re-sewn or even cut off, so tightly is it gathered. 2 VINTAGE UNOPENED FEEDSACK ~ 2 DIFFERENT FLORAL DESIGNS ~ GREAT FOR QUILTING or other CRAFTS ~ This NO RESERVE auction is for the two different vintage UNOPENED feedsacks dating from the 1940s or maybe the 1930's that you see in our photos. BRIGHT PINK background feedsack measures approx. 21" x 36" and has no tears- only holes at top where feedsack was original opened to empty. There are some dark smudges around outer floral trim that encircles pale blue flowers(they kinda look like Roses) I don't know if smudges happened when fabric was printed or if it is normal wear before given to the lady of the house back in the 1930's or 1940's. The bag with the lighter pink background features blue medalions a bit larger than a quarter; they are filled with a variety of blue flowers. Unfortunately. It’s about 40” x 36 ½” No tears, holes(except tiny ones created when the sack was opened to empty) or stains, but I just noticed a tiny spot about 3” from a selvedge edge. Hand Embroidered Section Sewing Arts & Crafts Needlework Flower Quilting Project
This is a very pretty hand embroidered section of a fabric square. The embroidery is of a basket of flowers. It is very niecly done and probably just needs framing unless you would like to add more to it. It looks very polished elegant and clean. The embroidery looks like it was done with a thin wool yarn. And so it stands up and makes a sort of raised texture due to the tight and neat handy work of the stitches made. The needlework design seems to be intricate and very well done. The style is very Elegant and Shabby Chic. It measures 12" x 9 1/2" The edges are not finished off so it will either need to be framed, used for a pillow, or whatever other purpose you have. It is a very beautiful small work of art, and would be a great addition to any cottage, cabin, or home. It appears to be in great condition. Contact us for savings of 10% before paying. This quilt is an Early Applique Antique from Lancaster. Pennsylvania and is circa 1850. The quilt is a cockscomb and currents pattern and I love the bright turkey red cotton the maker used throughout the antique quilt. The quilting is exceptional in every way with feather wreaths and gingerbread scallops. Look closely at the quilting and you will know that this quilt is a"Wow Factor" This quilt was not made by a novice and the applique pattern and quilting are very difficult to execute with precision. The quilt when held to a light has loads of cotton seeds and hulls. This dates the quilt. It is very pristine and has been hand laundered by a professional without the use of chemicals. Beautiful Multi Colored Broken Star Quilt probably done in the 20s or 30s. Size is 80 x 89 in. Looks to be in great condition. A few random age small age spots, worst is shown in some of the photos but this is not true for the entire quilt. No holes. I have had it for over 40 years and have never washed it, still bright and clean. It lays on top of other bedding and is removed at night. I have many quilts so this one did not get a lot of wear, if any. Quilting looks great, colors are fast and unfaded. Nice visual graphic for your home. Have tried to picture the reverse side wherein there is reverse very light bleeding of color from front in some places not entire quilt, but this has been that way for over 40 years. Wouldn't this look great on your bed or wall! Antique CARPENTERS WHEEL STAR Vintage Quilt ~ Lots of HAND - QUILTING Detail
Carpenters Wheel Star Antique Vintage Quilt ~ Simply Lovely What a beauty this quilt is! Carpenters wheel and star is full of bright colors. Greens. Pinks, purples, yellow, blues and more are framed in a lovely lavender. A large variety of beautiful novelty cotton prints make a wonderful combination. The back is muslin and a green binding has been applied. The hand-quilting measures 10-12 stitches per inch. Simply divine! Measures 82 x 62. And hand-quilted. It looks as if this one was gently used. I saw one tiny tear on front. See pic. Almost missed it as it blends right in! The binding is slightly frayed. But nothing major. There are some light age related stains on the back. No loose seams. Strong and sturdy, and in excellent antique vintage condition. Please keep in mind that these are vintage and antique quilts. So there may be some small ... moreloose seams and some age related stains. I try to report as much of this in my descriptions as I can, but may at times not see every little thing. Lots of history and charm in these old quilts.
